ATHOL - Donna M. (Porter) Goss, 45, of 614 Lenox St., died Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at her home after being suddenly stricken ill.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home are incomplete.
Holden Services
ORANGE - Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 in Witty's Funeral Home, Orange, for Jacqueline A. "Jackie" (Emery) Holden, 83, of 383 East River St., who died on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Athol, following an illness. The Rev. Mark Bariloni of the Athol - Orange Baptist Church officiated. Donald "Spin" Ainsworth was the organist, and Richard R. Hall was the soloist.
Interment followed in Tully Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Donald C. Jillson, Frank Jillson, Howard Jillson, Marlin Hunter, Dan Kimball, and Richard Hall.
The Orange Police Department escorted the funeral cortege to the cemetery in honor of Jackie's contributions to community policing.
Following the committial service, a reception was held at the Community Church of North Orange and Tully.
Witty's Funeral Home directed the arrangements.
Ware Services
ATHOL - A grave side service for Walter C. “Gooch” Ware, 80, of 132 Simonds St., who died on Feb. 1, 2004, was held Tuesday, May 4, 2004, in the Silver Lake Cemetery. Rev. Stephen D. Johnson, pastor of the Our Lady Immaculate Church, officiated.
Members of the Edward H. Phillips American Legion Post No. 102 who provided military honors included; Commander Glenn Frenette, Past Commander Robert Carey, Assistant Finance Officer Victor Litchfield, Adjutant Peter Krustapentus, Members George Therrien and Jim Robideau. The American Flag was presented to his wife, Mary Ware.
Fiske Funeral Home directed arrangements.

ERVING - Mary H. (Bannach) Waseleski, 97, formerly of Northfield Road, died Friday, April 30, 2004 at the Poet Seat Nursing Home, Greenfield.

TURNERS FALLS - Marylan E. (Shirtcliff) Sandlin, 69, of 10 Laurel Lane, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at home, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Judith Mineault - Bigwood
Worked 30 Years For SSA
ATHOL - Judith A. Mineault - Bigwood, 65, of 31 Earl Drive, a former longtime resident of Fitchburg and Leominster, died Monday, May 3, 2004 in her home after an illness.
She leaves her husband of two years, Clinton Bigwood; one daughter, Barbara Houle of Winghendon; six grandchildren; six great - grandchildren; two step children and four step grandchildren.
Her first husband, Arthur Mineault, died in 1997.
She was born in Mason, Calif.
Born in Greenwich, Mass., June 26, 1909, a son of Willis R. and Lenna L. (Reed) King, he grew up and attended schools in Greenwich, a town that was discontinued during the construction of Quabbin Reservoir.
At the age of 16 he moved to Springfield where took the apprentice machinist course at Westinghouse Electric Co. and continued working for the company as a machinist after graduation.
During the depression years he moved to Hartford, Conn, where he became a wrestler in Hartford and Atlantic City, N.J. known as "King Kong," later moving to Saratoga Springs, Calif. in 1948 where he lived and worked as a superintendent of manufacturing company and service manager at two General Motors Dealerships in the Burbank, California last fall.
A longtime active member of Freemasonry, he was Past Master of the Orange Lodge of Masons, A.F. & A.M. and had recently served as Junior Warden of the Lodge. He was a member of Toastmaster's of America, enjoyed writing poetry, cooking, baking, gambling, playing cards and bingo.
His wife of 55 years, June V. (Hanson) King, died in 1991.
He leaves a daughter, Eleanor Howeth of Tujunga, California.
Barbara A. McAdoo
A Caring Mother
ORANGE - Barbara A. (White) McAdoo, 66, of 15 Winter St., died unexpectedly on Thursday morning, April 29, 2004, in Athol Memorial Hospital after being stricken ill at home earlier.
Born in Cambridge on Nov. 26, 1937, she was a daughter of Harold and Josephine (Leone) White. She was married to Elliott L. McAdoo Jr., who died on Dec. 25, 2002. They moved to Orange 27 years ago, coming from Billerica.
A caring mother, she enjoyed playing bingo and going to tag sales, as well as eating out locally and meeting her friends.
She had been a member of the American Legion Women's League.
Survivors include her sons, Elliott L. McAdoo III of N.H., and Suzanne Wilson of Tyngsboro; many grandchildren; one great - grandchild; and a brother, John White of Rochester, N.H., officiating.
The organist was Ann Carley and special memories were done by Marilyn Ham. Burial followed in South Cemetery in Orange and the bearers were: Matthew Wickman, Lindsey Williams, Thomas Day, John Pryor, Thomas O'Connor, Ronald Fournier and Robert Lane.
