Victor A. Yuoconis

ORANGE - Victor A. Yuoconis, 81, fomerly of 290 East River St., died Aug. 28, 2004 in Virginia Beach, VA where he had been living since late 2001 to be nearer to two of his daughters.
Born in Orange, on May 14, 1923, he was a son of Joseph and Mary J. (Malakoski) Yuoconis and lived most of his life in Orange. He had gone through the Orange schools, including the Orange High School.
He was married to Sylvia L. (Hamilton), who died in 1998.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the United States Navy from September, 1942 until his Honorable discharge in January of 1946. He served aboard the USS Bullwheel in the Pacific and was a Motor Machinist Mate First Class.
He had worked at the Adell Corp. and the Rodney Texas; daughters, Penny Halvorsen and Sarah Nyhan, both of Concord, NH, Mary Anne Artzer and Amy Lang, both of Virginia Beach, VA; grandsons, Scott Artzer of Virginia Beach, VA and Joseph Nyhan of Concord, NH; and granddaughters, Amanda Artzer of Virgina Beach, VA and Meaghan Nyhan of Concord, NH.
Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, George Yuoconis, Sr. and a sister, Adele (Richardson) Brackett.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Athol Memorial Hospital Home and Hospice programs, c/o Athol Memorial Hospital, 2033 Main St., Athol, MA 01331.
Witty's Funeral Home is directing the arrangements.

Elli Esteri Allen
Literary Scholar
ROYALSTON - Elli Esteri (Liimatainen) Allen, 87, formerly of Royalston, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004 at the Wachusett Manor in Gardner, after a long illness.
She was born on Nov. 2, 1916 in Richmond, NH, daughter of the late John and Wilhelmina (Polari) Liimatainen. She had attended schools in Troy, NH and was a literary scholar.
She loved the woods, flowers and wildlife, and enjoyed giving money and tangible goods to the less fortunate.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert S. Allen, on Jan. 6, 1997, and by her sons, Roger Adams on Aug. 20, 1998 and Amos Leimo Allen in 1945. She was also predeceased by her sisters Martha, Suoma, and Lempi, and her brothers Eino, Reino, Toivo, Leimo and Toivo.
Mrs. Allen is survived by five daughters; Kathleen R. Allen of Peterborough, NH, Christine Allen of Dorchester, MA, Kristine Dages, formerly of Goshen, MA, Faith Allen of Bennington, NH, and Susan Folsom of Rochester, NH; five sons, Loren Allen of Daytona, FL, Michael R. Allen Sr., of Winchester, NH, Lee Allen of Auburn, ME, Christopher Chickering of Nashua, NH, and Joseph Hasty of New Oxford, PA; a beloved granddaughter, Kaija Allen of Peterborough, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Oiva Liimatainen of Richmond, NH, Niilo Liimatainen of Jaffrey, NH, Lauri Liimatainen of Reserve, NM, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her longtime friends and caretakers, Robert Cromwell, Walt and Nanji Thornton and Vyto and Patricia Andreliunas, all of Royalston.
At Mrs. Allen's request, there will be no calling hours, and services will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Family Literacy Foundation, 3525 Del Mar heights Rd., #348, San Diego, CA 02130, or to the American Cancer Society, (Northern New England Region) the Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 Route 101, Unit #8, Bedford, NH 03110.

Kaczmarczyk Services
ATHOL - A funeral mass for Anthony J. Kaczmarczyk, Sr., 87, of 9 Kendall St., was held Monday, Aug. 30, 2004 at the Our Lady Immaculate Church with the Rev. Stephen D. Johnson, pastor, and Mr. James Linderman, deacon, officiating. The organist and soloist was Theresa Gabis. The readings were done by Douglas and Kevin Kaczmarczyk and the gifts brought forward by Laura and Kyle Kaczmarczyk, all grandchildren of Mr. Kaczmarczyk.
Burial followed in Gethsemane Cemetery and the bearers were: Kevin, Douglas, Steven and Kyle Kaczmarczyk, Mark Winters and John Hadley. A reception followed at the C.C.D. center.
The Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Choquette Services
ATHOL - Graveside services for Camella M. (DeCanio) Choquette, 72, of 821 Daniel Shays Hwy., was held Monday, Aug. 30, 2004 at the Quabbin Park Cemetery in Ware. The Rev. Fr. Vernon P. DeCoteau, pastor of the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Belchertown, officiated.
The Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

David E. Zellmer
WARWICK - David E. Zellmer, 86, of town, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004 at the Franklin Medical CEnter in Greenfield.
Friends are invited to the Zellmer home, at 100 Hastings Pond Rd., on Saturday, Sept 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Warwick Volunteer Fireman's Association Building Fund, 1 Hastings Pond Rd., Warwick, MA 01378

Boucher Services
ATHOL - Funeral services for Donna A. (Warrington) Boucher, 57, of Gibson Drive, were held Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Bariloni Pastor of the Athol - Orange Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Silver Lake Cemetery.

Raymond A. Meunier
Jack Of All Trades
ORANGE - Raymond A. Meunier, 73, formerly of 50 Red Brook Lane, died on Saturday morning, Aug. 28, 2004 at the Qaubbin Valley Healthcare, Athol, following an illness.
Born in Gardner, he was a son of Noe and Bernadette (Boulais) Meunier and grew up and attended school in Templeton.
Following school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served over in Germany during World War II. After the Army, he worked for the City of Gardner many years, later working at the former Simplex Time Recorder Company, also of Gardner.
An outdoorsman and jack of all trades, he especially enjoyed gardening, going out to breakfast daily, and his step grandchildren.
He is survived by his long time companion of over 30 years, Alice Johnston of Orange; step daughter, Barbara Donelan of Orange; a step son, William Johnston Jr. of Athol; brothers, Roger Meunier of East Templeton, Andrew Meunier of Gardner, and Romeo Meunier of Baldwinville; sisters, Jeanette French of East Templeton, and Claire Albee of Gardner; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Rheo Meunier of Winchendon and George Meunier of Templeton.
Graveside services in South Cemetery, Orange, will be held at a date and time to be announced.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
Witty's Funeral Home, Orange, is directing the arrangements.

Burke Services
ORANGE - A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004 in St. Mary's Church, for Theresa P. "Terry" (Pieniazek) Burke, 73, of 354 Holtshire Rd., who died on Aug. 23, 2004 at the Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, following an illness. The Rev. Fr. William Lunney was the celebrant, assisted by Joseph Bucci, Deacon of St. Mary's. Theresa Bergquist was the cantor and Anthony Bosco was the organist.
Interment followed in South Cemetery. The pallbearers were, Michael Pieniazek, Mathew Pieniazek, David Pieniazek, Maggie Manchester, Michael Roy, and John Slosek.
Following the committial service, a reception was held in St. Mary's Parish Hall.
Witty's Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Dembek Service
ORANGE - A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004 at 5 p.m. in Witty's Funeral Home for Joshua M. Dembek, 30, of 95 Burrill Ave., who died Aug. 20, 2004 in an accident in Italy. There will be a reception afterwards at the East River Street Grill in Orange.
