ATHOL - Patricia A. (Snow) Hayden, 55 of 183 Central St., died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
She was born in Gardner, on July 6, 1949, the daughter of the late Donald and Ruth E. (Thayer) (Snow) Rice. She grew up in Athol and attended Athol High School and Ralph C. Mahar Regional High School where she graduated from in 1967.
Mrs. Hayden worked at the Belchertown State School for several years; she also was employed at the Athol Junior High School and the Town Crier Newspaper.
She enjoyed floral design. She was a member of the Orange Congregational Church, the Athol Historical Society, and the Themis Chapter No. 30 Order of the Eastern Star in Athol. She was active with the Athol Rainbow for girls program.
She leaves her husband of 33 years, Donald S. Hayden; a daughter, Jennifer A. Specter of Webster; her mother, Ruth E. (Thayer)(Snow) Rice; a sister, Cynthia A. Snow of Orange; a grandson, Zachery Daniel Specter of Webster; a step - brother, Allan Rice of Gardner on Oct. 14, 1919, the son of the late Jan and the late Josephine (Stromski) Mitchell. He grew up in Maine died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004 while visiting in Rangeley. She was born October 4, 1918 in Petersham.
Her parents were Ruth Brooks and Glenn Marvel. She graduated from high school in Petersham. She married Kenneth C. Dahne in Detroit, Mich. on April 30, 1940 and moved to Rangeley, N.H., and Kaye Cousens of Petersham; two grandsons, David Allard and his wife Amanda of Barrington Gardner VNA, 13 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.

ATHOL - Chester A. Mitchell, 84, of 54 Franklin St., died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, in Athol Memorial Hosptial.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of Fiske Funeral Home are incomplete.

Nashua, N.H., and Robert and Linda Rahaim of Clinton, Mich.; five grandchildren, Christina, Stefanie, David, Jessica, and Sarah Rahaim; a sister, Janice Cook of Athol; three nieces, and a dear friend Mildred Mann of Athol.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the First Church Unitarian, 478 Main St., Athol. The Rev. David Farrington, pastor emeritus, will officiate. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association 330 Congress St., Boston, MA 02210.
