ATHOL - Funeral services for Robert P. O'Brien, 49, of 214 Allen St., who died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004 in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner, were held Wednesday, Sept. 15.
Reverend Stephen Johnson, Pastor of the Our Lady Immaculate Church, celebrated the funeral Mass. Theresa Gabis was the organist and cantor.
The pall was placed on the casket by his brothers, Thomas and Bill O'Brien. The gifts were brought forward by Garrett and Katelynn O'Brien. Readings were shared by Mary Jardine and Margaret Young.
The bearers were Bruce May, Jeremy May, Corey Benoit, Garrett O'Brien, John Zanks, and Rick Cintron.
The J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mary E. Gray
Formerly Of Orange
ORANGE - Mary E. (Barrett) Gray, 64, Avon Rd., Panama City, Fla. and formerly of Orange, died on Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at Bay Medical Center in Panama City following an illness.
Born in Athol on Feb. 5, 1940, she was a daughter of Oscar and Evelyn (Shepardson) Barrett and had lived most of her life in the Athol - Orange area, attending Orange High School. She moved to Gardner on May 13, 1929, the son of the late Emil and the late Elizabeth (Thibeault) Robichaud.
He grew up in Florida for 25 years; he moved back to Athol in 2002.
He enjoyed vegetable gardening, pig farming, and hiking, especially in the Bears Den area.
He leaves his wife, Lee (Metz) O’Brien of Florida; nine sisters, Kathleen and her husband Burke Lincoln of Texas, Mary and her husband Rick Jardine of Athol, Margaret Tzikas of Athol, Ellen and her husband Bruce May of Athol, Rose and her husband Ray Mataska of California; four brothers, Timothy and his wife Wendy O'Brien of Gardner after a short illness.
He served as a Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
James W. Tolman
Rodney Hunt Company for 35 years, he retired in 1979.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and gardening.
He leaves four daughters, Judy Ruskowski of Worcester, Barbara McCauley of Athol, Laurie Rivers of Athol, Tina Tolman of Athol; a sister, Doris Tolman of Port Charlotte, FL; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Ruth (O’Donnell) Tolman who died in 1994, by a daughter, Patrice Tolman who died in 2001 and by a brother, Arthur Tolman.
Funeral services will be private.
There are no calling hours.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Salvation Army.

Maurice E. Robichaud
ATHOL - Maurice E. Robichaud, 75, of 1023 South Main St., died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, in the St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of Fiske Funeral Home are incomplete.
Harold E. Crouse
ERVING - Harold “Red” E. Crouse, 87, of 7 West High St., died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at the Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield.
Hachey Services
ATHOL - Funeral services for J. Alfred “Al” Hachey, 94, of Athol, were held Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Immaculate Church. The celebrant was Rev. Stephen D. Johnson. Theresa Gabis was the organist and cantor.
Burial followed in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Fiske Funeral Home directed the arrangements.
