Lanteigne Services
ATHOL - Funeral services for Joseph F. Lanteigne, 79, of 110 Brattle St., who died Nov. 21, were held Wednesday, Nov. 24, in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home.
The Rev. Stephen Johnson conducted the service.
Bearers were his sons Stephen Lanteigne, David J. Lanteigne, Peter J. Lanteigne, Marc P. Lanteigne, Christopher M. Lanteigne, and grandson Joseph A. Lanteigne.
Burial will be held later at the convenience of the family.
The J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Everett L. Porter
Korean Conflict Veteran
ORANGE - Everett L. Porter, 71, of 105 South Main St., died on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at Athol Memorial Hospital after being stricken ill earlier at home.
Born in Hartford, Conn. on July 7, 1933, he was a son of Harold and Thomasina (Dakers) Porter. Following his schooling, he joined the Army and served in the Korean Conflict.
After being honorably discharged from the service, he worked at several jobs before becoming a truck driver for a number of years.
An outdoorsman, he enjoyed walking and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed leather tooling, painting, and being around animals.
A gentle man, he made many friends while living in Orange and attended church at the Orange United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his special friends, Michael Bellemare and Betty Jenks with whom he lived in their home for disabled veterans, his fellow veterans at the home and members of the church he had befriended. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main St., at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Julia Daly of the Orange United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in South Cemetery.
Witty's Funeral Home is directing the arrangements.

Kovalsick Services
ORANGE - Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Witty's Funeral Home for Antoinette C. (Gregorie) Kovalsick, 76, formerly of 66 Sandrah Dr., who died on Nov. 19, 2004 at Marlboro Hills Healthcare following an illness. The Rev. Vance E. Frank officiated. Interment followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, Turners Falls.
The pallbearers were Phil Harris, Chris Cole, Scott Songer, Elwin Hayden, Brian Newton, and James Fountaine. Following the committial service in Turners Falls, a reception was held at the Orange Gun Club.
Witty's Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Loraine I. Jones
Native Of Athol
WENDELL - Loraine I. (Costa) Jones, 67, of 4 Mountain Laurel Rd., died on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Franklin Medical Center, Greenfield, following an illness. Born in Athol, a daughter of John and Doris (Britt) Costa, she grew up in Athol.
She was a CNA for a number of years before retiring.
She was married to Lawrence O. Jones Sr., who died in 1999.
A loving mother, she is survived by her sons, Randy A. Jones of Orange, William O. Jones of Athol, Lawrence O. Jones Jr. Of Athol, Timothy J. Jones of South Athol, and David D. Jones of San Pedro, N.H.; her Fiancé, James Leclaire of Wendell; sisters, Pauline Richardson of Athol and Chris Costa of Erving; brothers, Paul Costa of Athol, Chet Costa of Athol, and Floyd Costa of Bloomfield, Conn.; eight grandchildren; and two great - grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Moores Corner Church on Church Road, in Leverett with the Rev. Larry Riddle officiating.
Interment will be private. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., Boston, MA 02210 or to the donor's choice.
Witty's Funeral Home, Orange, is directing the arrangements.

Idella M. Gordon
ATHOL - Idella M. (Dingman) Gordon, 64, of 63 South Main St., died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at University Commons in Worcester.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of Higgins - O'Connor funeral Home are incomplete.

Martin A. Kenney
Special Ed Teacher
CORONA, Calif.
He was born in Orange, and graduated from Orange High School in 1948. He received his Master's Degree from the University of Hartford.
He served in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corp 2nd Class from 1950 to 1954.
He was employed as a special education teacher for more than 35 years.
He was a member of the Veterans' of Foreign Wars.
Martin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary (Silveri) of Corona; three sons, Leo M. Kenney of Conway, NH, Michael A. Kenney of San Francisco, and Martin A. Kenney Jr., of Ridgefield, CT; two daughters, Josephine Bass of Palmdale, CA, and Mary T. Kenney of Corona, CA; a sister and brother in law, Mary Anne and Victor Colo of New Salem, MA; 16 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nephews and nieces
A Memorial Mass was held at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with interment in Riverside National Cemetery.

Ava B. Flagg
SALINA, Okla. - Graveside funeral services for Ava B. Flagg, 77, of Salina, who died Nov. 13, 2004, in Tulsa, were held Nov. 16, 2004, in the Ross - Mayes Cemetery in Salina. Services were under the direction of Key Funeral Home, Pryor.
Flagg was born on Oct. 5, 1927, in Ware, MA, the son of Ava B. and Rachel E. (Allen) Flagg, Sr. He grew up and attended school in Massachusetts. She preceded him in death in 1999. He married Mary Lucille Hayhurst on June 8, 2002, in Salina.
Survivors include his wife, Betty L. (Woodard) Flagg of home; a son Bobby Flagg, of Bradenton, Fla.; nine grandchildren; five great - grandchildren; and siblings Edna, Barbara, William, Ira, Marshall, Dana, Mary, Carol, David, Laurel, all of Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by one son Peter, one daughter Christine, four siblings and his parents.

Thrower Services
ORANGE - Services for Elizabeth Mae Thrower, 81, of 25 Rosemont Ave. were held on her 82nd birthday, Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at the Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold V. Lloyd, Jr., pastor of Athol Congregational Church officiating.
Burial followed in Silver Lake Cemetery and a reception was held in fellowship hall of the Athol Congregational Church.

Everett L. Porter
ORANGE - Everett L. Porter, 71, of 105 South Main St., died on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004 at the Athol Memorial Hospital, Athol, after being stricken ill earlier at home.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Witty's Funeral Home of Orange.

McKnight Services
WARWICK - Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 22, 2004 at the Metcalf Memorial Chapel, for John B. "Jack" McKnight, 51, of 355 Wendell Rd., who died on Nov. 18 at Athol Memorial Hospital following an illness. Rev. Dan Dibble, Pastor, officiated. Ralph Hills was the pianist.
The pallbearers were Denny Lincoln, Ken Whitmore, Rod Whipple, Kevin McKnight, Bobby Faulkner, and Bill Harris.
Following the service, a reception was held at the Warwick Town Hall.
Committial services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. in Warwick Center Cemetery, Route 78.
Witty's Funeral Home, Orange, directed the arrangements.

Beckwith Services
WINCHENDON - Funeral services for Vivial S. (Plummer) Beckwith, 87, of 75A Hyde Park Dr., were held Nov. 11, 2004 in the Snow - Ladeau Funeral Home. Rev. Paul H. Stenstrom, pastor of the Bethany Bible Chapel, officiated.
Burial took place in Riverside Cemetery. The pallbearers were grandsons Bruce W. Beckwith of Joppatown, MD, Barry W. Beckwith of Booneville, MS, Kenny E. Beckwith of Tupelo, MS, Chuck L'Ecuyer, Rindge, NH, David R. Bourbeau of Royalston; and great - grandson, Jared D. Bourbeau, of Royalston.
