Giannini Services
ATHOL - Funeral services for Daniel F. Giannini, 82, of 739 Daniel Shays Hwy., were held Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Orange.
The celebrant was Rev. John Roach. The organist was Janet Paoletti, and Theresa Bergquist was the cantor. Readings were offered by Steven Giannini, and Keith Giannini. The offertory gifts were brought forward by Christopher Giannini and Amy Giannini.
The bearers were Steven Giannini, Keith Giannini, Christopher Giannini, Christopher Fellows, Kyle Sadlon, Mark Corliss, and David Pandiscio.
Members of the Edward H. Phillips American Legion Post 102 provided military honors. They included: past commander Robert Carey; commander, Glenn Frenette; past finance officer, Vic Litchfield; adjutant, Peter Krustapentus; member, Bucky LaRoach; and past Worcester Commander Alfred Souza. The U.S. Flag was presented to Patricia Fellows, by Carey. Frenette played Taps.

ATHOL - Funeral services for May C. (Mallet) (Rathburn) Gerry, 73 of 71 Lake St., Gardner, formerly of Athol, were held Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at Silver Lake Cemetery. Rev. James Callahan, Associate Pastor of Our Lady Immacualte Church, officiated.

ATHOL - Funeral services for Antonia “Sylvia” (Navarro) Bauwens, 68, of Athol, were Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, in Fiske Funeral Home. Rev. Stephen D. Johnson Pastor of Our Lady Immacualte Church officiated.
Burial followed in Silver Lake Cemetery.
Fiske Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Ronald E. Kangas
Maintenance Specialist
GARDNER - Ronald E. Kangas, 68, of 400 Lovewell St., died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, in the Heywood Hospital following an illness.
Born in Andover, Vt., he was the son of Sulo and Annie (Moore) Kangas, he graduated from the Thompson of the Community Church of North Orange and Tully officiating.
Interment will follow in Tully Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
Woodcock Services
ORANGE - Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004 at Witty's Funeral Home, for Keith S. Woodcock, 53, of 18 East Myrtle St., who died on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at his mother's home on Adams Street, following a lengthy illness.
The Rev. Vance E. Frank officiated. The Honorary pallbearers were Jason Woodcock, Timothy Woodcock, Matthew Woodcock, Megan Woodcock, Cameron Woodcock, Emma Woodcock, Dana Moore, Jon Castine, Randy Plante, Bill Walker, John O'Lari, and the postal workers from Orange and Athol Post Offices.
Interment at Jones Cemetery is private.
Following the service, a reception was held at the American Legion Post 172 on Whitney Street.
Witty's Funeral Home directed the arrangements.
Edward J. Ledoux
ORANGE - Edward J. Ledoux, 82, of 129 Prentiss St., died late Friday night, Nov. 12, 2004 at the Athol Memorial Hospital, Athol, after being stricken ill earlier at home.
Funeral arrangements with Witty's Funeral Home in Orange are pending.
John Joseph Down
ORANGE - John Joseph Down, 74, of 176 South Main Street, died on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at Athol Memorial Hospital, Athol, after being stricken ill earlier at home.
Born on April 26, 1930 in New York City and graduated from school there and then enlisted in the United States Navy on July 25, 1951 and served during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the China Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal with K - 7, K - 8, K - 9, and K - 10 Combat Stars. He was Honorably discharged on July 24, 1957.
He was married to Ruth Helen Bross on August 4, 1951 and later married Frances Priscilla (Gentile) Down in 1986.
Following his Naval career, he started in electrical engineering in California and Victoria Capuzzo, and her husband Gary, of North Andover; Grandchildren, Cory Logan, Paige Logan, C.J. Capuzzo, Victor Capuzzo, Jeremiah Capuzzo, and Joseph Capuzzo; Step - daughters, Nancy Aiguier, Lynda Hester, and Nila Parker; Step - son Ernie Aiguier; Sisters, Gertrude Magee of New York; Brother in Law Arthur Anderson; many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth Bross and a step - son, Kevin Aiguier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at St. Mary' s Church, 19 Congress Street, Orange, at 10:00AM.. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington, MA will be at 2:00PM .
Calling hours will be held at Witty' s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, on Monday evening, November 15th, from 7 - 9PM and Tuesday morning from 9:00 - 9:45AM at the funeral home prior to the Mass.

Patricia A. Vieu Gray
ORANGE - Funeral services for Patricia A. Vieu Gray, 47, of 77 West Main St. were held Friday Nov. 12, 2004 in the Fiske Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Bariloni, pastor of the Athol - Orange Baptist Church officiated. Burial will be private.
Thomas W. Wood
WW II Veteran
ORANGE - Thomas W. Wood, 83, of Orange, and formerly of Billerica, husband of Olga M. (Bagrowski) Wood, died Monday, Nov. 8. 2004, at his home.
He was born in Springfield, June 16, 1921, son of the late Thomas W. and Elizabeth (Bernard) Wood, and had lived in Billerica for 25 years before moving to Orange 10 years ago.
He had served in the Army during World War II and had been a member of the Burlington American Legion.
He had been employed in the maintenance division of the Cambridge Electric Light Co. for 10 years prior to his retirement.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons and daughter - in - law, Thomas Wood of Billerica and Gregory and Kathleen Wood of Vermont and Roscoe Wood of Palmer; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by three three sisters.
A funeral service was held this morning at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, in Billerica. Burial was in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
