ATHOL - Jean “Gina” (Berton) Dodge, 76, of 46 Oakland St., died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, following an illness.
She was born in Athol on June 20, 1928, the daughter of Louis and Quirina (Battaini) Berton, and was a lifelong resident of Athol.
She was a graduate of the Franklin County Public School of Nursing, received an associates degree from Mount Wachusett Community College, and a bachelor degree from the University of Ohio, on Feb. 7, 1933, the daughter of the late Herman and the late Mildred (Runnion) Ahart.
She was a resident of Petersham for 42 years coming from Barre. She worked as a factory worker at the Barre Wool Company, as a teacher at the Eagle Hill School in Hardwick, and as a teacher and principal of the Stetson School in Barre. She also worked as a Welcome Wagon Lady and did home sales for the Avon Company. She was a long - term member of the Petersham Curling Club. She also enjoyed reading and caring for her family.
She leaves one daughter, Linda L. Ganson of Petersham; three sons, John H. Paul of Athol, Theodore R. Paul of Orange, Christopher D. Paul of Petersham; one sister, Mary Ann Linton of Orange; and six grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Richard E. Paul, who died in 1995.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 11:30 a.m. in the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in the West Road Cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, Dec. 18 from 9 to 11:30 a.m., prior to the funeral.

Brouillet Services
FITCHBUG - Graveside services with military honors for Leo E. Brouillet, 55, of Bloosom St., who died Nov. 12, 2004, were held Monday, Dec. 13, 2004 at the N.Y., played taps, folded and presented the American Flag to Mr. Brouillet's mother, Rachel Brouillet.
The Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home of Athol was in charge of the arrangements.
Curtis F. Bumpus
Former A - R Superintendent
ATHOL - Curtis F. Bumpus, 84, former superintendent of the Athol - Royalston Regional School District, died peacefully at his home in Carolina, R.I. on Oct. 28, 2004. He was the beloved husband of Marguerite (Johnson) Bumpus, formerly of Orange.
He was born in Lynn and grew up in Hubbardston. He was a graduate of the Worcester Academy and received both a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the Fitchburg State College, which he attended under the GI Bill. He was a Veteran of World War II. He continued his studies, with advanced graduate work in edcuation administration, at the Boston University.
During his career as an educator, he was a classroom teacher, a principal, and a superintendent. He served in the latter role in the Ashfield Regional School District, as well as in Athol, Hull and in Foster/Glocester, R.I. He also served as the attendance officer in the Cranston, R.I. school department and was a Court Appointed Student Advocate volunteer.
Upon retirement, he studied cooking at the Johnson and Wales University and worked at a number of Rhode Island restaurants. Throughout his life, he served on numerous boards and committees including the Richmond Democratic Town Committee and the Chariho School Committee.
Besides his love of family and cooking, he was an avid reader and a strong advocate of the Clark Memorial Library in Carolina.
Besides his wife, Marge, he leaves a daughter, Brenda Leeber and her husband, Blaise, of Hull; three sons, Barry of Mesa, Ariz., Brent of Banning, Calif. He was predeceased by a son, Brian, a grandson, Benjamin, and a brother, David.
Services were held at the Avery Funeral Home in Hope Valley, R.I. Interment was in South Cemetery, Orange.
Sr. Elmire Bourgault
Professed 69 Years Of Religious Vows
PETERSHAM - Sr. Elmire Bourgault, 97, of the Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, North Main Street, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004 at the Assumption Residence after a prolonged illness.
Formerly known as Sister St. Madeleine, she professed 69 years of religious vows.
Born in Bromptonville, Quebec, Sr. Elmire was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Pamela (Bernier) Bourgault. Her siblings have also predeceased her.
She became a naturalized citizen in 1930 and taught the primary grades for 48 years before coming to the Assumption residence where she performed community services and was given to the Prayer Ministry.
Sr. Elmire leaves beloved nieces and nephews and several grand - nieces and grandnephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in the Assumption residence chapel. Burial will be in the East Cemetery. Calling hours at the Assumption residence are Sunday, from 2 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Assumption Retirement Fund, P.O. Box 128, Petersham, MA 01366.

Everett E. Hildreth

WENDELL - Everett E. Hildreth, 66, of 3851 W. 107th St., Inglewood, Connecticut before moving to Calif., Evelybn Bigelow of Cleveland, Tenn. and Florence Bergmann of Wendell, Mass. He was predeceased by his sister, Nancy Hildreth, by a son, James Hildreth, and a daughter, Florence Hildreth.
Interment was Dec. 3 at the Pacific Crest Cemetery in Inglewood.
Lenore C. Schlicke

PHILLIPSTON - Lenore C. (Murdock) Schlicke, 73, of 555 Highland Ave., died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at Athol Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Gardner and Hubbardston, graduating from Iowa and Arthur Murdock of Barre; three sisters, Dorothy Salminen of Hubbardston, Barbara DiStefano of Liverpool, N.H.; eight grandchildren and two great - grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A brother Walter Murdock predeceased her.
Private funeral services will be held at Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol, with the Rev. Stephanie Flynn, pastor of the Phillipston Congregational Church officiating. Burial will follow in Lower Cemetery and there are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Phillipston Congregational Church, the Phillipston Library, On the Common, Phillipston, MA 01331 or the Alzheimer’s Unit at Quabbin Valley Healthcare, 821 Daniel Shays Highway, Athol, MA 01331.
