Delia P. Decker
Quilter, Homemaker
ORANGE - Delia P. (Punis) Decker, 82, of the Artman Home and the Vista Road in Ambler, Penn., and formerly of Orange, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000 at the Artman Home.
She was born in Orange on July 11, 1918, daughter of Jacob and Eva (Shliva) Punis. She graduated from Orange High School and Rider College.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry B. Decker.
She was a homemaker for many years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ambler, the Oreland Quilters, past treasurer of the North Penn Rock and Mineral Club, past president of the Miriam Circle of the First Presbyterian Church.
Among her survivors are two daughters, Susan Decker Reitz of Warminster, Penn., and Janet E. Decker of Schwenksville, Penn.; one son, David Decker of North Wales, Penn.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 4 S. Ridge Ave., in Ambler, Friday, Oct. 6 at 10 a.m., with Rev. William J . Kemp officiating.
Calling hours will be held tonight, from 7 to 9 at the Shaeff - Myers Funeral Home, 145 Tennis Ave., Ambler.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Richboro, Penn.
Donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Ambler, 4 S. Ridge Ave., Ambler, Penn., 19002.
Noonan Service
ORANGE - A funeral Mass for Marie B. (Hughes) Noonan, 81, of 407 South Main St., was celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000 in St. Mary's Church. The Rev. Brian F. McGrath presided with Rev. Mr. James F. Donelan, deacon. Theresa Bergquist was the cantor and Janet Paoletti was the organist of the Mass.
Burial was in South Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Greenleaf, James Greenleaf, Richard Greenleaf, Adelbert Beroldi, Kenneth Miner and Willard Chiasson.
Brushett Service
Funeral services for Arthur Malcolm Brushett Jr, 45, of 176 Hamlet St., were held Tuesday, Oct. 3, in the Fiske Funeral Home with Timothy Chung and Shannan Myers officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
The bearers were Lance Corporal Peter Brushett, David Brushett, Andrew Brushett, Timothy Brushett, Nathan Brushett and Charlie Myers.
Fiske Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Charles H. Swope
Research Physicist
PETERSHAM - Charles Hermas Swope, 61, of Raleigh, N.C., and formerly of Petersham, died Sept. 20, 2000 at the Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
He was born in Worcester on March 23, 1939. He grew up in Petersham where he graduated as valedictorian from the Petersham High School, in a class of eight, in 1957.
He received an AB in physics cum laude and with honors from the Clark University in 1961 and a masters in physics from the University of Colo.; children, Lynisa and David Robinson of Kansas City, Mo., Glenn and Deborah Swope of Raleigh and Kirsten and Lars Hansen of Santa Fe, N.M.; grandchildren, Walden Measure Robinson, Niels Erik and Karen Elizabeth Hansen.
He was the loved son - in - law of Ruth and Russell Romkey of Auburn; brother - in - law of Ralph and Pat Romkey of East Falmouth; godfather of Katherine Hansen of Raleigh; uncle of Robyn and Peter Stout of Jacksonville, Fla., Jamie and Becky Romkey of Mashpee, Scott Romkey of East Falmouth, Kim and Joel Clifford of Mashpee; great uncle of Cassie and Alyssa Romkey, Madison Clifford and Brennan Stout.
He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins, including, Verna Crumb of Raleigh; and special friends, Bette Marcus of Kansas City, Mo., Cara Hudgins, Don and Imra Stowbridge, all of Raleigh and John and Martha Link of Durham.
He was predeceased by his parents, Glenn Edward and Elsie Eleanor (Lough) Swope.
A memorial service was held in Raleigh.

Otto E. Kleiner, Enjoyed Bowling, Golfing
Otto Ernest Kleiner, 78, of 739 Daniel Shays Hwy., and a native of Adams, died Thursday morning, Sept. 28, 2000 at his home.
He was born in Adams on Nov. 13, 1921, a son of Henry and Henrietta (Wolfrum) Kleiner, and attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams High School in 1940. He also attended the former Bliss Business College in North Adams.
He worked as a chief estimator at the Federal Mogul Corp. in Worcester for 30 years, until retiring eight years ago. Earlier he had worked at the former Brightwater Paper Co. in Adams for several years. He had lived in Shrewsbury for 24 years until moving to Athol eight years ago.
He enjoyed bowling and golfing, and while in Adams was a member of the Forest Park Country club.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Mary J. Zieminski, whom he married on Aug. 14, 1943; five brothers, Gary Kleiner, Max Kleiner, Alfred Kleiner and Paul Kleiner, all of Adams, and Emil Kleiner of Assonet; a sister, Ella Genesi of Reynoldsburg, Gardner Hospice, or to the American Heart Association through the funeral home.
Janis L.T. French
Former Teacher
BOYLSTON - Janis Louise Theresa (Greene) French, 50, died peacefully Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000 in her home.
She leaves her husband of 20 years, Jeffrey A. French, and a son, Jesse F. French at home; her mother, Bertha (Urban) Greene of Barre; a brother, Benjamin F. Greene III of Athol; a sister, Joyce Greene of N.Y., and three nephews.
Mrs. French was born in Ware, daughter of Benjamin F. Greene. She graduated from Barre High School and Framingham State College and Clark University.
She was at one time an English teacher with the Brookfield school system. She ran many offices in Worcester County, including real estate, manufacturing, and most recently the investment industry.
Mrs. French was an avid reader and studied poetry, English literature and theater.
She was a trustworthy and loving mother and wife. She was well - known in Boylston for her many blue ribbons won at the Grange fair for her vegetable and wildflower arrangements.
A memorial Mass will be held Sunday, Oct. 1, at 11:15 a.m. in St. Mary's of the Hill's Church, 630 Cross St. There are no calling hours.
Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Palmira Desreuisseau
Former Erving Paper Mills Employee
Palmira (Nogueira) Desreuisseau, 80, of 91 Estabrook St., died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000 in Athol Memorial Hospital following an illness.
She leaves two sons, Chris J. Desreuisseau with whom she lived, and Steve M. Desreuisseau of Orange; a daughter, Sharon L. Noyes of Chesterfield, Va.; a brother, Louis Nogueira of Kingston; four sisters, Olivia Reumker, Florinda Pasolini, both of Kingston; Rose Piazzi of Whitman; and Marion Doner of Plymouth; two grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis R. Desreuisseau, who died in 1973, and a son, Tino P. Desreuisseau, who died in 1975.
She was born in Kingston on Oct. 5, 1919, daughter of Joseph and Mary Nogueira, and was a resident of Athol for 50 years. She grew up in Kingston and moved to Orange in the early 1940s and then moved to Athol in 1950.
Mrs. Desreuisseau worked at the Erving Paper Mills for 13 years, retiring in 1985.
She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, and working in her flower garden.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. in the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main St. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Monday, Oct. 2 from 9 to 11 a.m.
