Carol C. Temple
ASHLAND - Carol C. Temple, 70, of Ashland, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, after a long illness.
She was the wife of Donald C. Temple Sr., who died in 1997.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Lillian (Countway) White.
Mrs. Temple attended Brookline schools, graduating in 1954, and attended secretarial training school, graduating in 1955.
A resident of Ashland since 1961, she was employed as a secretary for Cushing Hospital in Framingham from 1981 to 1989, and later at MCI Framingham from 1989 to 1993.
Mrs. Temple was an active member of the Federated Church of Ashland, serving on the Board of Deacons, Hospitality Committee, Christian Education Committee and Properties Committee. She enjoyed camping, needlework and sewing, and she was a past member of the Ashland Lions Club.
She leaves four children, Donald C. Temple and his wife, Jandira, of Ashland, Sharon C. Burkhardt and her husband, Christopher, of Holliston, Susan C. Noyes and her husband, William, of Mendon and Dean C. Temple and his wife, Deborah, of Shrewsbury; six grandchildren, Melyssa, William and Casey Noyes, Allison Burkhardt, and Lauren and Alyse Temple; many cousins, but especially one dear cousin, Celeste Lawler.
A funeral service was on Friday, June 1, at 11:30 a.m., at the Federated Church of Ashland, 118 Main St., Ashland.
Burial followed in Dell Park Cemetery in Natick.
Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 29 Crafts St., Suite 450, Newton, MA 02458-1287; or the American Heart Association, Memorial & Tribute Processing Center, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
The Matarese Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mildred D. Gould
HUDSON - Mildred D. (Davis) Gould, 79, of Hudson, died Friday, June 1, 2007, at Marlborough Hospital in Marlborough.
She was the wife of Douglas R. Gould, who died in 1993, for 46 years.
Born in Laconia, N.H., and was a 1945 graduate of Laconia High School. She moved to Hudson in 1957.
Mrs. Gould was a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Hudson Senior Center, working on programs such as Elder Advocate and Meals on Wheels in Hudson. She also enjoyed the times she spent as a member of the Sweet Adeline's, a MetroWest singing group.
She leaves her children, Ronald Gould and his wife, Judith, of Wilmington, Roland Gould and his wife, Sarah, of Shrewsbury, Michael Gould and his wife, Joan, of Avon, Conn., Rebecca Mimeault and her husband, Peter, of Northborough, William Gould and his wife, Cynthia, of Hudson and Brenda Thatcher and her husband, David, of Brookline, N.H.; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the grandmother of the late Jason Gould.
A funeral service was celebrated by the Rev. Dave Warren on Tuesday, June 5, at 11 a.m., in First Baptist Church, 14 Walnut St., Clinton.
Burial was in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
Arrangements were under the direction of Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.

Theresa M. Hartley
MARLBOROUGH - Theresa M. (Grieci) Hartley, 53, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at Elliot Healthcare Center, after a long period of failing health.
Born in Marlborough, she was the daughter of the late Augustine and Marie T. (Giancola) Grieci and had lived in Marlborough most of her life.
She was employed for many years as a manufacturer of medical equipment.
She leaves one son, John of Allston; two sisters, Marie Rahmberg of Shrewsbury and Diane Mula of Marlborough; four brothers, Michael Grieci of Orange, Alfred and Christopher Grieci, both of Arlington, Wash., and David Grieci of N.Y.; a sister, Nancy Jean Basciano of Niles, Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Donations in Mr. Martin's memory may be made to New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.

Daniel J. Rourke Jr.
SHREWSBURY - Daniel J. Rourke Jr., 81, a resident of Shrewsbury for a year and a former 50-year resident of Framingham, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at Rose Monahan Hospice Home at Coes Pond in Worcester.
He was the husband of Patricia G. (O'Brien) Rourke for 56 years.
Born in West Hartford, Conn., son of the late Daniel J. and Marguerite (Telfer) Rourke, he graduated from Kingswood Oxford School before entering training in the U.S. Navy toward the end of World War II.
His aeronautical training took him to Georgia and other areas in the South, but he never served overseas. After the war and while still in the service, he attended various universities before graduating from Wesleyan University with a bachelor's degree in 1948.
Mr. Rourke worked initially as an agent for Aetna Insurance in New Jersey. His career included sales related positions in various companies ranging from clothing to solar panels.
Mr. Rourke was passionate about golf, and was a longtime member of the Framingham Country Club, winning the club championship three times. He also enjoyed games with his friends at Sudbury River and Wayside Tennis Clubs.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Daniel J. Rourke III and his wife, Judith, of Framingham and Christopher J. Rourke and his wife, Emma, of Edinburgh, Scotland, and a daughter, Pamela G. Rourke-Dupuis and her husband, Robert, of Leominster; and twin grandchildren, Camille and Nicholas Dupuis.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, Route 9 East, Framingham Centre.
Burial followed in St. Stephen Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Boyle Brothers Funeral Home, 173 Union Ave., Framingham.

Hugh T. McCann
SOUTHBOROUGH - Hugh T. McCann, 72, of Southborough, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at his home, after being unexpectedly stricken ill.
Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Hugh T. and Mary (Eagan) McCann.
A graduate of St. John's High School, when it was located in Worcester, he also attended St. Michael's College in Winooski, Vt.
He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, serving from 1954 to 1958. For more than 30 years, he was employed as a postal clerk for the Southborough Post Office, retiring in 1995.
He enjoyed skiing and was a member of St. Anne Church in Southborough.
He leaves a sister, Ruth Anketell and her husband, James Frederick, of Southborough; six nieces, Mary Anketell and her husband, David Wilson, of North Carolina; Carol Doucet and her husband, James, of Shrewsbury; Ruth Kuniholm and her husband, Erik, of South Grafton; Sarah Frederick and her husband, Steven, of Shrewsbury; Beth Bailey and her husband, Christopher, of South Grafton; three nephews, James F. Anketell Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Southborough; David Anketell and his wife, Maria, of New Mexico; Mark Anketell and his wife, Margaret, of Hudson; an aunt, Catherine Flynn and her husband, Charles, of Framingham; 17 great-nieces and great-nephews; and many cousins.
He was the brother of Mary McCann, who died in 2005.
A visitation took place Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough.
A Mass of Resurrection was celebrated, at 11 a.m., at St. Anne Church, 20 Boston Road, Southborough.
Burial followed in the Rural Cemetery, Southborough.
Memorial contributions may be sent in his memory to St. Anne Church, 20 Boston Road, Southborough, MA 01772.

Arden O. Cleaves
MARLBOROUGH - Arden O. “Art” Cleaves, 74, of Marlborough, formerly of Whitman, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at his home after a period of failing health.
He was the husband of Loretta (Cripps) Cleaves of Marlborough and the late Mary (Walters) Cleaves.
Born in Presque Isle, Florida, Kathy Bourgoyne of North Carolina, and his stepchildren, Alan Burke and Carolyn Winchester, both of Marlborough, and Janice Bernier of Shrewsbury; his sister, Eleanor Nelson of Idaho; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Peter Cleaves and brother of the late Alden Cleaves.
The funeral was on Saturday, April 7, at 5 p.m., at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle), Whitman.
Burial will be at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to UMass Hospice, 650 Lincoln St., Worcester, MA 01605.
