Philomena M. Iacovelli, 90
HOPEDALE - Philomena M. (Tartaglia) Iacovelli, 90, of Hopedale and formerly of Milford, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital.
She was the wife of Michael E. Iacovelli, who died in 1996.
Born in Mansfield, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Adelina (Rossi) Tartaglia and moved to Milford in 1935.
Mrs. Iacovelli was educated in Mansfield schools and was employed as a hat worker at the Winfield Hat Company until her retirement in 1965. She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Hoboken Citizens Club and the Daughters of Italy.
She leaves three sons, Donald Iacovelli and his wife, Janet (Colanti), of Milford, David A. Iacovelli of Milford and Edward M. Iacovelli and his wife, Jean (Landry), of Hopedale; one brother, Ralph Tartaglia of Mansfield; one sister, Josephine Eysie of Norwood; sister-in-law, Catherine Iacovelli of Milford; six grandchildren, Susan A. Iacovelli of Westborough, David M. Iacovelli and his wife, Eileen (Guinan), of Hopedale, Kathryn P. Mooney and her husband, George, of Southborough, Laura M. Iacovelli of Hoboken, N.J., Jennifer A. Barbour and her husband, Matthew, of Topsham, Maine, he was the son of Frank J. and Ellen (Hodgkinson) Small. Mr. Small lived most of his life in New Hampshire, moving to Grafton in 1984. He recently resided at The Willows of Westboro before entering Beaumont at Westboro.
Mr. Small worked many years for Bates Manufacturing Co. in Augusta, N.H., before retiring.
He was a graduate of Coney High School in Augusta and he attended Bryant & Stratton School of Business in Boston. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in The Rhineland and central Europe.
He attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church in North Grafton.
Mr. Small is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eleanor (Webber) Small; one son, David K. Small of Westborough; two granddaughters and his primary caregiver and daughter-in-law, Frances Small of Westborough.
A Eucharistic Funeral Rite was held Saturday Oct. 19 in St. Andrews Episcopal Church, North Grafton. Interment with military honors was in Fairview Cemetery, South Grafton.

Mary Ann Blazquez, 63
WESTBOROUGH - Mary Ann Blazquez, 63, of Westborough, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, at UMass-Memorial Healthcare, University Campus, in Worcester, after an illness.
Born in Bunker Hill, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Forrest and Vera (Meadors) Welch. She had been a resident of Westborough for many years before moving to Marlborough in 1990 and returning to Westborough this year.
She was educated in Bunker Hill schools. She worked as a title examiner for Friedman and Stein PC in Braintree since 1989. She was the former co-owner and founder of the Bicycle Barn, on Rte. 9, in Westborough from 1973 to 1979. Mrs. Blazquez enjoyed gardening, sewing and genealogy.
She leaves one son, Enrique L. Blazquez of Portsmouth, N.H., Susan J. Winchell of Westborough and Mary Lu Nutter of North Grafton; one brother, James A. Welch of Granite City, Ill.; one sister, Margaret J. Leihy of Bunker Hill; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Evangelical Congregational Church in Westborough.
Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Mildred J. Hinchey, 77
WESTBOROUGH - Mildred J. Hinchey, 77, of Westborough, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at the Westborough Healthcare Center.
She was the wife of the late William R. Hinchey.
Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Austin and Mary (Monahan) Jackson.
Educated in Springfield schools, she was employed as an accountant for the Arnold Greene Testing Labs in Natick for 17 years before retiring in 1989.
Previously a resident of Medway, she was a resident of Westborough for several years. She was a former member of St. Joseph Church in Medway.
She is survived by one son, Thomas R. Hinchey of West Alexandria, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna C. (Murphy) Bourk.
Mrs. Schlickman lived in Marlborough for more than 42 years. She previously lived in Worcester and Hudson. She was a member of St. Matthias Parish.
Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Kathleen Doyle of Hudson, Colleen Provencher-Pruitt of Hopkins, S.C., and Maureen DePalo of Westborough; three brothers, Ernest Bourk of Manchester, N.H.; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., Marlborough, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Matthias Church.

Thomas Kilgarriff, 97
WEST ROXBURY - Thomas Kilgarriff, 97, of West Roxbury, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, at his home.
He was the husband of 68 years of the late Margaret T. (Lohan) Kilgarriff, formerly of Ballygar County, Galway, Ireland.
He was a former owner of Kilgarriff's Cafe in Jamaica Plains, a popular bar known for its talent contests and floor shows and as a venue for many of Boston's early Irish show bands.
Mr. Kilgarriff was a gracious host at the establishment, which was a lively tourist spot which counted among its patrons customers who regularly traveled from great distances.
He was also an accomplished musician with the fiddle, accordion and tin whistle. He was a charter member of the Redberry Council, Knights of Columbus, and a former member of the Boston Liquor Dealers Association, the Irish Social Club of Boston and the County Roscommon Association.
He is survived by his children, Ann M. Samson of Westborough, Thomas J. Kilgarriff of Pembroke, attorney Paul John Kilgarriff of West Roxbury, Eileen C. Cecca of Medfield, and Joan M. Shields of Scituate; his grandchildren, Gail Giffen of Townsend, Mary Jane Stenslie of Durham, Maine, Patricia Saras of North Conway, Calif.
He lived in Oxford from 1979 to 1990 before moving to Northborough in 1999.
Mr. Rider was employed as a sanitary engineer for the Hudson public school system.
He attended Bay Path Regional Vocational High School in Charlton. He graduated from Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough in 1992 and played football there.
He was an active member of Triumphant Life Ministries in Worcester.
He also leaves four brothers, Arthur White of Burrillville, R.I., Charles White of Oxford, Ethan J. Rider of Santa Clara, Calif., and Joshua White of Westborough; two sisters, Heather Westbrook of Cumberland, R.I., and Gwen Ellen Rider of Worcester; his maternal grandfather, Francis J. Maloney of Northborough; his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Eleanor Jenkins of Charlestown, Md.; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m., in Hays Funeral Home (www.haysfuneralhome.com), 56 Main St., Northborough.
