Louis J. Baccari, 83, of Bellingham, formerly of Newton
BELLINGHAM - Louis J. Baccari, 83, of Bellingham, formerly of Newton, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham.
He was the husband of Catherine A. (Walker) Baccari.
Born in Newton, son of the late Giovanni and Donata (Cedrone) Baccari, he was a graduate of Our Lady's High School.
Mr. Baccari worked for Condon Construction Company in road construction. He was a life member of the Newton Lodge of Elks #1327 and a social member of the American Legion Post 440 in Newton.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Katherine Trickel and her husband, Dick of N.Y.; two step-sons, Robert S. Cowell of Easthampton and Thomas Cowell of Bellingham; two step-daughters, Judith Meredith of Marshfield, and Lynn V. Cowell of Northampton; one brother, Dana S. Urban of Cummington; one sister, Vivian Sargent of Naples, FL; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Thursday, May 30, at 11 a.m. from the Cummington Village Congregational Church. Burial will be at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, in Springfield.
Calling hours are Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Pease Funeral Home, 425 Prospect St., Northampton.

John F. Doolan, 72, of Bellingham
BELLINGHAM - John F. Doolan, 72, of Bellingham, died Monday, April 14, 2003, at his home.
He was the husband of Lynne (MacArthur) Doolan.
Born in Boston, the son of the late John F. and Ethel (Broderick) Doolan, Mr. Doolan lived in Chelmsford for 20 years, and in Millis for several years before moving to Bellingham in 1987.
He was a quality control manager for the Jet Spray Corp. in Norwood for 38 years, before retiring.
He was a former member of the Norwood Elks Club.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War, and did a lot of boxing while in the Navy.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Cheryl Rochleau of Medway, Amy McLellan of Franklin; a son, Jack McLellan of Franklin; two brothers, Edward Doolan of Quincy and Robert Doolan of Weymouth; his aunt, Irene Parr; one nephew; three nieces; and his grandchildren, Barry, Nicholas and Andrew.
A blessing will take place Thursday in St. Joseph Church, Village Street, Medway, at 10 a.m.
Burial will be in Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
Calling hours are Wednesday, April 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St., Medway.

Dorothy D. Hunter, 76, formerly of Bellingham
BELLINGHAM -- A graveside service for Dorothy D. Hunter took place Friday, July 25, in Union Cemetery in Bellingham, where funeral director Dwight Watson conducted the committal service.
Miss Hunter, 76, of Lake City, Fla., formerly of Bellingham, died Thursday, July 17, 2003, in Lake City.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Watson Colonial Funeral Home, 24 Congress St., Milford.
Kevin R. Gignac, 22, of Blackstone
BLACKSTONE -- Kevin R. Gignac, 22, of Blackstone, died Sunday, July 20, 2003, after an accident on Echo Lake in Burrillville.
He was the fiance of Tracy Dean of Blackstone, having planned to marry in February 2004.
He was the son of Dennis R. and Celeste M. (Fortier) Gignac of Blackstone.
A lifelong resident of Blackstone, he graduated from Blackstone-Millville Regional High School, class of 1999, and was a member of track and field, basketball team, student council and Peer Ed. He continued his education at CCRI in Rhode Island in Fire Science.
He was employed full time by his father at his business, Denco Builders of Mass. He was also a firefighter and EMT for the Blackstone Fire Department and a member of the National Registry EMT, MA EMT and MA Firefighter 1. He was a member of the Blackstone Fire First Responder and the Dive Team, Search and Rescue Team, Confined Space Rescue and also R.I. Cardiac. He formerly was employed by Market Basket in Bellingham.
Besides his parents, he leaves a son, Bradley M. Gignac of Blackstone; a sister, Kendra Gignac of Blackstone; maternal grandmother Muriel D. (Turgeon) Fortier of Blackstone; paternal grandmother, Marie Jeanne (Dube) Gignac of Woonsocket, R.I.
He was the brother of Matthew J."Matt" Gignac, who died in 1997.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 30 at 10 a.m. from Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St., Bellingham, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Blackstone Valley Baptiste Church, 40 Pine Swamp Road, Cumberland, R.I.
Visiting hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, July 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.
Daniel F. Girard, 47, formerly of Blackstone
WOONSOCKET, R.I. - Daniel F. Girard, 47, of Woonsocket, R.I., died Sunday in his home, after a two-year battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Patricia A. (Gendron) Girard.
He was born in Woonsocket, a son of Katherine T. (Kennedy) (Girard) Remillard of Blackstone and Daniel R. Girard, who died June 30, 1967, and Roland J. Remillard, who died June 1999. He attended Blackstone-Millville Regional Junior-Senior High School.
He and his wife were married August 20, 1977, in Sacred Heart Church and celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last August.
He was became a firefighter in Woonsocket, R.I., on July 15, 1984. He became rescue lieutenant April 22, 1992, and reached the rank of rescue captain on April 29, 2001, before retiring due to illness Jan. 27, 2002. He was instrumental in reviving the Woonsocket Fire Department Honor Guard.
He was a member of the International Red Knights Fire Fighters Motorcycle Club. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group.
In addition to his wife, he leaves one son, Timothy D. Girard of Woonsocket, R.I.; three daughters, Pamela A. Girard, Bethany L. Girard and Stephanie Girard of Woonsocket, R.I.; two brothers, Michael J. Girard of Milford, and Thomas E. Girard of Blackstone ; six sisters, Mrs. Theodore (Kathleen M.) Remillard of Cumberland, R.I., Judith A. Girard of Woonsocket, Mary T. (Girard) Lajoie of Blackstone, Mrs. Thomas (Marguerite L.) Keefe of Mendon, Mrs. Andre (Suzanne R.) Pierel of Woonsocket, R.I.; and Mrs. Charles (Ann Marie Remillard) Swenson of Blackstone.
The funeral will take place Wednesday, April 16, at 9 a.m., from the Kilcline Funeral Home, 304 North Main St., with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. in All Saints Catholic Community, Rathburn Street, Woonsocket.
Burial will be in Saint Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, Mass.

Helen (Romakiatas) Padula, 72, of Blackstone
BLACKSTONE - Helen (Romakiatas) Padula, 72, of Blackstone, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, R.I.
She was the wife of Jeremiah Padula Jr. of Blackstone.
Born in Norwood, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Monica (Kapitias) Romakiatas. She was a resident of Blackstone for six years, formerly of Bellingham and Franklin.
She worked together with her husband operating the former Diplomat Restaurant and Lounge in Bellingham, where she was the cook for many years until it closed. She also helped the other family business, Jerry's Concrete Floors.
Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Jeremia Padula III of Warwick, R.I., Richard M. Padula of Bellingham, and Michael P. Padula of Woonsocket, R.I.; a daughter, Donna Dulac of Blackstone; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was also the sister of the late John and Charles Romakiatas.
The funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 2, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Assumption Church, Moody Street, Bellingham.
Burial will be at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cartier Memorial Funeral Home, 76 Providence St., Woonsocket, R.I.
