Donald R. "Don" Burlingame, 68, of Bellingham
BELLINGHAM -- Donald R. "Don" Burlingame, 68, of Bellingham, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital.
He was the husband of Eleanor F. (Rantala) Burlingame for 43 years.
Born and raised in Worcester, he was the son of the late Harold and Florence (Goslow) Burlingame. He was a 1959 graduate of Commerce High School, and attended Worcester State College, Dean Junior College in Franklin, and Brom's Academy in Worcester. He was a resident of Bellingham for 36 years.
He was owner of Don's Hair Stylists on Dennison Avenue in Framingham from 1966 until he retired in 1994.
He was president of Framingham Cosmetologists Association in 1968, chairman of Framingham Keefe Vocational Advisory Board in 1982 and an advisory board member for the Society of Skin Care Association in 1985. He was president- elect of Massachusetts Association of School Committees in 1999, and was selected for honorable mention to the MASC All State School Committee in 1997 and 1998.
He was a justice of the peace, and a commissioner to qualify public officers. He was a life member and very active member of the Bellingham Lions.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and seven granddaughters, especially on Cape Cod, where he spent summers for the past 40 years.
He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Robert S. Burlingame and Donald R. Burlingame Jr. of Upton; a daughter, Linda B. Rosenlund of Worcester; two brothers, Richard Burlingame of Florida; two sisters, Janice Sohlman of Warren and Carol Cunningham of Maine; and seven granddaughters, Sherron and Jaclyn Rosenlund of Worcester, Elizabeth, Sarah, Catherine, Charlotte and Josephine Burlingame, all of Upton.
He was the brother of the late Bruce and Joyce Burlingame and Barbara Canane.
A funeral will take place Saturday, April 26, at 8 a.m., from Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 South Main St., Bellingham, with a Mass of Christian burial, at 9 a.m., in St. Brendan's Church, Hartford Avenue, Bellingham.
Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
Calling hours are Friday, April 25, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
Helen (Romakiatas) Padula, 72, of Blackstone
BLACKSTONE - Helen (Romakiatas) Padula, 72, of Blackstone, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, R.I.
She was the wife of Jeremiah Padula Jr.
Born in Norwood, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Monica (Kapitias) Romakiatas.
Formerly of Bellingham and Franklin, she was a resident of Blackstone for six years. She and her husband operated the former Diplomat Restaurant and Lounge in Bellingham, where she was the cook for many years until the restaurant's closing. She also helped in Jerry's Concrete Floors, another family business.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Jeremiah Padula III of Warwick, R.I., Richard M. Padula of Bellingham and Michael P. Padula of Woonsocket, R.I.; and one daughter, Donna Dulac of Blackstone.
She was the sister of the late John and Charles Romakiatas.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 2, with a Mass at 10 a.m. at Assumption Church, Moody St., Bellingham.
Burial will be at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.

Raymond L. Peroni Sr., 81, of Blackstone
BLACKSTONE -- Raymond L. Peroni Sr., 81, of Blackstone, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at the Franklin Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin.
He was the husband of Eva (Guisti) Peroni.
Born in Milford, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Polumbo) Peroni. He had lived in both Milford and Blackstone for many years.
Mr. Peroni was employed in the construction business for many years until his retirement.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in both the European and Pacific theaters.
An avid gardener, he loved sports, especially golf, softball, bowling and fishing.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Raymond L. Peroni Jr. of Milford; his daughters, Paula Peroni and June Kraft, both of Blackstone; his brother, Paul Peroni of Milford; two grandchildren, Amy and Steven Kraft; and a great-grandson, Dylan Kraft.
He was the father of the late Marie Elaina Peroni, and the brother of the late Frank Peroni and Henrietta Marino.
Funeral arrangements are private and are under the direction of the James E. Kellett and Son Funeral Home, 21 West St., Milford.
Alberta B. (Evans) Pickering, 94, of Blackstone
BLACKSTONE - Alberta B. (Evans) Pickering, 94, of Blackstone, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at St. Camillus Home in Northbridge, where she was a resident for the last seven years.
She was the wife of the late Leon E. Pickering.
Born in Woonsocket, R.I., she was the daughter of the late John H. Evans and Grace Saltonstall.
She was employed as a mender at Hanora Looms in Woonsocket until she retired in 1970. A Blackstone resident since 1952, she was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of St. James Episcopal Church.
She leaves a son, Walter R. Pickering of Blackstone, with whom she lived; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Walter Evans, Mae Hartley and Helena Zingler.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m., at the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
Burial will be at Union Cemetery in North Smithfield, R.I.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Kenneth W. Slatkavitz
BLACKSTONE - Kenneth W. Slatkavitz, 48, of Blackstone, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham.
Born in Framingham, he was the son of Walter J. Slatkavitz of Framingham and the late Mary R. (Pinchook) Slatkavitz. He was a resident of Blackstone since 1984.
Prior to living in Blackstone, he lived in Medway. Before that, he was a longtime resident of Framingham.
He was employed by Genzyme in Framingham and Cambridge and had previously worked for the Shipley Company of Marlborough and the Dennison Manufacturing Company in Framingham. His hobbies included golf and boating.
Besides his father, he leaves two daughters, Kendra A. Slatkavitz and Kristine M. Slatkavitz, both of Blackstone; one brother, Steven P. Slatkavitz and his wife, Jacqueline, of Clinton; one sister, Gail M. Burke and her husband, Charles J., of Framingham; one nephew, Troy Slatkavitz of Clinton; and a dear friend, Charlene A. Murphy of Natick.
A funeral will take place Tuesday, April 2, at 8:15 a.m. from the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. George's Church, 74 School St., Framingham (Saxonville).
Burial will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Framingham.
Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Monday, April 1, from 5 to 8 p.m.

David C.Waters, 39, of Blackstone
BLACKSTONE - David C.Waters, 39, of Blackstone, died unexpectedly Friday, April 11, in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket, R.I.
He was the husband of Joyce M. (Isley) Waters.
Born in Norwood, the son of Eileen F. (Morse) Waters of Franklin and the late Clyde Waters. He was raised in Franklin, and live in Blackstone since 1994.
Mr. Waters was a chemical mixer at the Gloucester Co. in Franklin for 13 years. He previously worked at Wrentham State School.
In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves two children, Jessica and Mark Waters, both at home; four brothers, Bruce of Franklin, Steven of Walpole, Clyde and Timothy of Franklin; and a sister, Sandy Waters of Franklin.
He was also the brother of the late Donna Waters.
The funeral service will take place Wednesday, April 16, at 8:30 p.m., in Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St., Franklin.
Calling time is Wednesday, April 16, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Scott D. Tusoni, 24, of Blackstone
MENDON -- The funeral service of Scott D. Tusoni was held Friday, June 27, 2003, in the chapel of the Buma Funeral Home in Whitinsville. The Rev. Christopher L. Dodge, minister of the Union Evangelical Church in Hopedale, officiated.
During the service, Scott's aunt, Lois A. Manning, offered a poem and Scott's uncle, Michael Manning, offered words of love and remembrance.
Selected music selections were played, including "The Church's One Foundation," "In the Garden" and "The Wind Beneath My Wings."
Mr. Tusoni's casketbearers were Michael Manning, Jeff Manning, Carroll Akers, Rick Tusoni and many of Scott's friends.
Interment followed in the Hopedale Village Cemetery, Hopedale, where the Rev. Dodge offered the committal prayers.
Mr. Tusoni, 24, of Blackstone, formerly of Mendon, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at UMass Medical Center, Worcester.
