F. Lawrence Catella, 85, of Milford
MILFORD -- The funeral of F. Lawrence Catella took place Thursday, July 24, from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, celebrated by the Rev. Richard Scioli C.S.S.
The altar server was Frank Freni.
The organist was Virginia Montani. The soloist was Carla Al-Aghawani, music director.
The funeral pall was placed upon the casket by his family, Francesca and Peter Pessoti, Lauren Pessoti and Andrew Pessoti.
Lectors were Noelle DeMattia and Jeanne Marie Benoit.
Gift bearers were Lauren Pessotti and Andrew Pessotti.
Words of remembrance were offered by his granddaughter, Lauren Pessotti, and longtime family friend, Louis P. Bertonazzi.
Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, with committal prayers offered by the Rev. Richard Scioli C.S.S. A U.S. Air Force military honors detail from Westover Patriot Wing Honor Guard in Chicopee was present at the Cemetery, consisting of Staff Sgt. Stephen Picchota and Senior Airman Tina Bonaldi. Following the playing of "Taps," the American flag which draped his casket was presented to his daughter, Mrs. Francesca Pessotti, by Staff Sgt. Picchota.
There was a delegation at the funeral services representing the Milford Plains Association, including Louis P. Bertonazzi, Joseph DiAntonio, Robert Johnson and Alfred DeMeo. A delegation representing the Milford Area Chapter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital included Joseph Hyder, Stanley and Eleanor Nalewajko, Eleanor Guenther, Cathy Lancia and Nicholas DaSalvia.
A delegation from the Italian-American Veterans Post of Milford was present at the funeral home during calling hours to conduct a military salute to their deceased post member.
Casket bearers were Shaun McNally, William McNally, Daniel Moriarty, David Bengtson, Paul Malnati, Mark Bozzini and Raymond Zaccarino.
Mr. Catella, 85, of Milford, died Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital, after an illness.
Joseph P. Cogliandro, 76, of Milford
MILFORD -- Joseph P. Cogliandro, 76, of Milford, died Thursday, June 19, 2003, in Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital.
He was the husband of Mary T. (Pilla) Cogliandro of 48 years.
He was born in Milford, son of the late Fortunato and Frances (Maressa) Cogliandro, and was a lifelong Milford resident. He was educated in the Milford schools.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Mr. Cogliandro was a self-employed carpenter for many years, retiring in 1990.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, and was the originator of the Joe Cogliandro's Bocce League at his home for many years.
Besides his wife, he leaves one daughter, Palmina "Pam," wife of Ernest Chaplin, of Hopedale; one sister, Florence William of Abington; and three grandchildren, Stephen Chaplin, Gregory Chaplin and Carolyn Chaplin, all of Hopedale.
He was the brother of the late Michael Cogliandro, Savares Cogliandro and Angelina Minichiello.
A funeral will take place Saturday, June 21, at 11 a.m., from Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home (www.consigli ruggeriofuneralhome.com), 46 Water St., Milford. A Mass of Christian burial will be held, at noon, in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main St., Milford.
Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Medway Road, Milford.
Calling hours are today, from 5 to 8 p.m., in the funeral home.
Mary M. Comba, 70, of Palmer and formerly of Milford
PALMER -- Mary M. Comba, 70, of Palmer and formerly of Milford, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at the Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer, after an illness.
Born in Hull, she was the daughter of the late J. Francis and Madeline M. (Halloran) Comba. She attended school in Milford as a young girl. She was a resident of Palmer for many years
As a young woman, she was employed as a domestic aide in various private residences.
She was the sister of Anne S. Comba of Flemington, N.J, who died in 1992.
A graveside committal service will take place Thursday, June 19, at 1 p.m., at St. Mary's Cemetery, Cedar St., Rte. 85, Milford, officiated by the Rev. Mr. Rodney Szymczyk, Chaplain at the Monson Development Center.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St., Milford.
Miss Mary M. Comba, 70, formerly of Milford
MILFORD -- A graveside committal service for Miss Mary M. Comba took place Thursday, June 19, 2003, at St. Mary's Cemetery, Milford, officiated by the Rev. Rodney Szymczyk, chaplain at the Monson Developmental Center in Palmer.
Miss Comba, 70, formerly of Milford, died Sunday, June 15, at the Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer, after an illness.

Robert A. DaSilva, 70, of Milford
MILFORD -- The funeral of Robert A. DaSilva took place Friday, July 25, from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Dennis O'Malley, associate pastor.
Assisting was Sister Theresa Lucier.
The acolyte was Kathy Pontzer.
The organist was Sandra Valenti. The cantors were Chris Roy, Sandra Piwko and Judy Thomas.
The funeral pall was placed on the casket by his family, Janet and David Lewis, Robert and Kerry DaSilva and Trisha Chase. A family bible and pair of rosary beads were then placed on the casket by his brothers, Donald DaSilva and James DaSilva.
The lectors were Thomas DaSilva, a nephew, and Christopher Rando, a grandson.
Gift bearers were his grandchildren, Christopher Rando, Matthew Rando and Jordan DaSilva.
The prayer of the faithful was offered by Sister Theresa Lucier, pastoral associate at St. Mary's.
A poem, "Remembered Joy," was read by his sister-in-law, Mrs. Noreen Briand, at the conclusion of the funeral Mass.
Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, with committal prayers offered by the Rev. O'Malley. At the conclusion of the committal services, the American flag which draped his casket was presented to his wife, Mrs. Maureen DaSilva, by Joseph F. Edwards Jr.
Casket bearers were David Lewis, David Briand, Joseph Grillo, John Shanahan, Eric Osterburg and Robert Hayes.

Mr. DaSilva, 70, of Milford, died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital, after being stricken at his residence.

ASHBURNHAM - Thelma J. (Woodworth) Mei, 84, of 100 South Main St., Ashburnham, died Wednesday, December 12 at home surrounded by her loving family. Thelma, daughter of the late Harold and Joyce (Luff) Woodworth, was born in Nova Scotia, Canada on August 12, 1923 and lived here many years.

MILFORD -- A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Carolyn D. (Achorn) DeCoste was held Saturday, June 14, 2003, in Evergreen Cemetery, Portland, Maine Medical Center, Portland, officiating.
Mrs. DeCoste, 58, died Sunday, June 8, 2003, in Worcester Medical Center, Worcester.
