Adria M. Allen, 77
LIVERMORE, Maine, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, where she was a patient for one day.
She was born in Rumford, Maine, and was a graduate of Farmington Normal School. She furthered her education at Boston University where she earned a bachelor of arts and master's degree.
She taught school for a time in the Brettuns school system.
On July 31, 1948, she married Carlton R. Allen in Canton, Maine Teachers Association.
She enjoyed knitting, flower gardening and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband of 54 years, she leaves a son, Daniel and his wife, Laurene, of Merrimack, N.Y.; and two granddaughters, Kimberly and Jennifer Allen.
A funeral service will take place Friday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m., at the North Livermore Baptist Church, Federal Road, Livermore.
Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the Finley Funeral Home, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls.
Spring burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.

NORTHBRIDGE - David Allen VanSomeren Ed.D., 56, of Northbridge died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at his home.
Dr. VanSomeren was the husband of Lisa A. (Kolk) VanSomeren.
Dr. VanSomeren was born in Waldwin, Wis., son of John and Jane G. (VanEngen) VanSomeren of Waldwin, Wis. He was a 1964 graduate of Baldwin High School. He was a 1969 graduate of Calvin College with a bachelor of music degree, and a 1973 graduate of the University of Wisconsin and N.Y.; two sons, John David VanSomeren and his fiancee, Minori Fukuda, of N.Y., and Nicholas VanSomeren of Worcester; three brothers, Doug VanSomeren and Keith VanSomeren of Baldwin, Wis., and Wayne VanSomeren of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Charlotte DeVos of Amery, Wis., and Karen Wynveen of Osceola, Wis.; many nieces and nephews; and one grandson, David Alexander Beck of Grafton.
The funeral service will take place Friday, Aug. 2, at 11 a.m. in Trinity Church, Copley Square, Boston.
Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family.

Alfred L. Stone Sr., 84, of Northborough
NORTHBOROUGH -- Alfred L. Stone Sr., 84, of Northborough, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, in UMass Memorial Health Care at Marlborough Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the wife of Phyllis (Sawyer) Stone, who died in 2001.
Born and raised in Northborough, he was the son of the late Joseph and Delima (Boudreau) Stone.
He was a master sergeant with the U.S. Army during World War II, fighting with the 32nd Infantry Division in the South Philippines campaign.
He was employed as superintendent of the Water and Sewer Department for the town of Northborough for 43 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Florida and Shrewsbury for nine years before moving to Northborough in 1994.
Mrs. Thomas graduated from Balboa High School in the Panama Canal Zone and was a self-employed graphic designer.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Michael A. Crouch of Houston, N.Y.
