Alfred L. Stone Sr., 84, of Northborough
NORTHBOROUGH -- Alfred L. Stone Sr., 84, of Northborough, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, in UMass Memorial Health Care at Marlborough Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the wife of Phyllis (Sawyer) Stone, who died in 2001.
Born and raised in Northborough, he was the son of the late Joseph and Delima (Boudreau) Stone.
He was a master sergeant with the U.S. Army during World War II, fighting with the 32nd Infantry Division in the South Philippines campaign.
He was employed as superintendent of the Water and Sewer Department for the town of Northborough for 43 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Washington) Griffin, 94, of Westborough
