Donald G. McLean, 76, of Wayland
WAYLAND -- Donald G. McLean, 76, of Wayland, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, following a period of declining health.
He was the husband of Alice E. (Byron) McLean for 49 years.
Born in 1926, he was the son of the late Dan K. and Mildred L. (Williams) McLean.
A resident of Wayland for the past 42 years, Mr. McLean spent his formative years in Waltham, where he graduated from Waltham High School. He received his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts Society of Professional Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Arthur D. Little Alumni Association, and a 50-year member of Waltham Triad Lodge. He was an active volunteer for many years with the Meals on Wheels Program.
He served as a second lieutenant with the Infantry Division of the U.S. Army in Germany during World War II, from 1945 through 1946. He also served from 1951 to 1953 as a first lieutenant during the Korean War.
Besides his wife, Mr. McLean leaves his children, Barry D. McLean of Hopkinton, Rodrick B. McLean of Wayland and Janice E. McLean of Worcester; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel and James McLean.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 17, at 1 p.m., at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, 53 Cochituate Road (Rte. 27), Wayland, with the Rev. James Pocock Jr., pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the McLean family lot in North Cemetery in Wayland.
Visiting hours are Monday, June 16, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Gibbs Memorial Chapel of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte. 30), Wayland.
Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140-1102.
Mrs. Gertrude (St. Amant) St. Germain, 90
BELLINGHAM - Mrs. Gertrude (St. Amant) St. Germain, 90, formerly of Wrentham Manor in Bellingham, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, in the Ballou Home, Woonsocket, R.I.
She was the wife of Henry J. St. Germain, who died Oct. 27, 2000.
Mrs. St. Germain was born in Woonsocket, the daughter of the late Eugene and Josephine (Renaud) St. Amant. She was a resident of Bellingham for more than 26 years, was formerly of Blackstone for 24 years, and formerly of Woonsocket.
She was a winder for Bernon Worsted in Woonsocket, retiring in 1930.
Mrs. St. Germain was a communicant of Assumption Church and volunteered for the parish, counting money on Sundays. She was a former member of St. Theresa's Church, Blackstone. She was a member of Wrentham Manor Senior Citizens and the Royal Travelers.
She is survived by one son, Roland H. St. Germain of Bellingham; two daughters, Vivian C. Gauthier of Cumberland, R.I., and Theresa Tessier of Woonsocket; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Eugene and Wallace St. Amant, Viola Zamaire, Gladys Villard and Blanche St. Amant.
The funeral will take place Friday, Sept. 6, at 9 a.m., from Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 South Main St., Bellingham, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Assumption Church, Moody Street, Bellingham.
Burial will be in St. Jean Baptist Cemetery.

Edward A. Comendul, 58, of Douglas
DOUGLAS - Edward A. Comendul, 58, of Douglas, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003 at the Coes Pond Hospice Residence, Worcester.
He was the husband of Donna M. (Roy) Comendul for 20 years.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Alexander and Bertha (Konis) Comendul, and a resident of Uxbridge for several years before moving to Douglas in 2000.
He graduated from Franklin High School. He was employed as a driver for Front Line Inc. since 1996. He enjoyed his home and family.
He served with the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Paul P. Comendul of Franklin and Alexander E. Comendul of Douglas; two sisters, Evelyn Morse of Norton and Dottie Buckley of Norfolk; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Church, Mendon Street, Rte. 16, Uxbridge.
There will be no visiting hours.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buma Funeral Home, 101 North Main Street, Uxbridge.

Geraldine M. (MacLaughlin) Law, 76, a former longtime resident of Upton
UPTON - Mrs. Geraldine M. (MacLaughlin) Law, 76, of Arlington, Texas; a brother, Austin MacLaughlin of Upton; a sister, Dorothea Childs of Upton; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m. at the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton. The Rev. Jan Gregory-Charpentier, pastor of the United Parish in Upton, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the family lot at Lakeview Cemetery, Upton.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, Sept. 30 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Walter F. Talamini, 64
MILFORD - Walter F. Talamini, 64, of Milford, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at his residence after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Ronnie M. (Carini) Talamini.
Mr. Talamini was born in Franklin, the son of the late Antonio and Josephine (Bartolomeis) Talamini. He attended Franklin public schools as a young boy, and was a 1958 graduate of Franklin High School.
Mr. Talamini was employed as a young man as a carpenter for a number of Franklin area builders, including Kevin Rafferty. Following that, he was employed as a claims adjuster for All State Insurance Company, working out of the Natick office. He was employed for the past 10 years for the Town of Milford parks department.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Milford, and was a longtime member of the Hoboken Citizens Club of Milford, a longtime member of the Italian-American Veterans Post of Milford, and a member of the local union for Town of Milford employees.
Mr. Talamini was an accomplished athlete during his younger years in high school. He continued his association in athletics by being an avid softball league player for many years, participating in various leagues in Milford and Franklin. He was a longtime member of the Hoboken Golf League and an avid bowler, participating in various men's leagues for the past 30 years in Millis and at Ficco's, in Franklin. He was an avid bocce ball player, participating in various leagues associated with the Italian-American Veterans Post of Milford and the men's bocce ball league at Molinari's bocce ball court, in Milford.
In addition to his wife of 37 years, he is survived by three daughters, Andrea, wife of John Geffert III of Hopedale, Kerry, wife of James Asam, of Milford and Jaime, wife of Scott Lindsay, of Barre; three brothers, Joseph Talamini, Antonio Talamini and Richard Talamini, all of Franklin; six sisters, Mrs. Gloria Mucciarone, Mrs. Marian Melo, Dorothy, wife of Frank Mucciarone, Mrs. Claire Pretto, Pauline, wife of Alexander Pizzanello, and Sylvia, wife of Maurice Peloquin, all of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Shirley Talamini of Hollywood, Fla.; four grandchildren, John Geffert IV and Tyler Geffert of Hopedale, Amanda Asam and Justin Asam of Milford; many nieces, nephews and cousins; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Annette Carini of Milford; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leonard and Marcia (Carini) Izzo of Milford.
He was also the brother of the late Lester Talamini, formerly of Franklin.
The funeral will take place Friday, Dec. 6, at 9:30 a.m., from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main St.
Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Medway Road, Rte. 109.
Calling hours are Thursday, Dec. 5, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Virginia M. Sexton
MILFORD - The funeral Mass for Mrs. Virginia M. Sexton took place Tuesday, July 30, in St. Mary's Church, Milford, celebrated by the Rev. Dennis O'Malley, associate pastor.
Kathy Pontzer and Virginia Lalime served as acolytes.
Sister Theresa Lucier assisted on the altar.
Evelyn Deer, Chris Roy and Judy Thomas were cantors, accompanied by the organist, David Szanto.
The readings were offered by Mrs. Sexton's sons, Mark Sexton and Steven Sexton.
Gift bearers were Mrs. Sexton's daughters-in-law, Kimberly Sexton and Dina Sexton.
Burial will be at a later date in the Pine Grove Cemetery Columbarium, Milford.
Mrs. Sexton died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at her home in Milford.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, Milford.
Joseph J. Speroni, 82
MEDWAY - Joseph J. Speroni, 82, of Medway, and formerly of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Milford, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 11, 2002, at the Medway Country Manor Nursing Home in Medway, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Milford, the son of the late Louis L. and Mary J. (Abretti) Speroni. Mr. Speroni attended Milford public schools and was a 1938 graduate of Milford High School.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, having served overseas in France, Belgium and Germany.
He was employed at his family's restaurant, Speroni's Restaurant in Medway, as a maitre d' and as the restaurant manager for more than 40 years, before retiring 20 years ago.
He leaves one brother, Frank C. Speroni of Milford; one sister, Mrs. Richard A. (Theresa R.) Kingsbury of Milford; many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
He was also the brother of the late Charles "Chuck" Speroni, formerly of Manhattan, L.I., who died in 1978, and the brother of the late Louis "Sperry" Speroni of Cumberland, R.I., who died in 1997.
Private committal service will take place in the Bertoni Chapel of Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Medway Road, Rte. 109, at the convenience of the family.
At his request, there are no calling hours.
