Joseph H. Messana
FRAMINGHAM -- Joseph H. Messana, 81, a retired Framingham police officer, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006.
He was the husband of Pearl M. (Morotti) Messana for 59 years.
Born in Boston, he was a longtime resident of Framingham, Englewood, Fla., and Northampton. He was a 1943 graduate of Framingham High School and a graduate of Framingham State College with a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received a Bronze Star for bravery.
Prior to retiring, he served 32 years as a patrolman with the Framingham Police Department. He was past president of the Florida.
Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters and their husbands, Barbara A. and Gregory Bradbury of Milford, Joann and Edward Nalawanski of Easthampton and Janice M. and Tolly Boyko of Whitinsville; two brothers, Andrew Messana of Framingham and Eugene Messana of Magnolia, and five sisters, Nancy Rorer of Greensboro, N.C., Rose Loud of Rockland, Mary Mercorelli of Ashland, and Eleanor Rogarshio and Carol Carter, both of Framingham; five grandchildren, Alyssa Hills, Sara Bradbury, Julia Giancola, Nicole Boyko and Joseph Nalawanski; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Baptista, Ava and Owen Hills, and Jake Giancola; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Angie Young and Dora Gurgunus.
A funeral service will take place Friday, Oct. 13, at 9:15 a.m., from the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Tarcisius Church, Waverley Street (Rte. 135), Framingham.
Burial will follow in St. Tarcisius Parish Cemetery, Framingham.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Oct. 12, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Constance A. Mancini
HOPEDALE -- Constance "Connie" A. (Mathieu) Mancini, 71, of Hopedale, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2006, at UMass Memorial Healthcare Center, Worcester, after a brief illness.
She was the wife of William R. Mancini.
Mrs. Mancini was born in Southbridge, the daughter of the late George and Tharsile (Gervais) Mathieu, and was a resident of Hopedale for many years.
Besides her husband, she leaves one daughter, Carolynne J. St. Martin of Milford; one brother, George A. Mathieu of Sturbridge; and many beloved friends.
The funeral will be held Thursday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m., in the James E. Kellett and Son Funeral Home, 21 West St., Milford.
Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Milford.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m.

William K. Jennings
DERBY, Conn. -- William K. Jennings, of Derby, Conn., died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at the Griffin Hospital.
He was the husband of Louise Y. Tetreault Jennings.
Mr. Jennings was born in Sardis, Miss., the son of the late Freemon Lee and Mary Louise (Cammack) Jennings. He was a resident of Mendon for 50 years until moving to Derby in 2004.
Mr. Jennings was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.
He was an employee of the Local Union 609 until retirement.
Besides his wife, he leaves his daughters, Linda Hourihan of Derby and Sandra Jennings of Woonsocket, R.I.; two brothers, Lee C. Jennings of Pleasant Grove, Miss., and Randolph Jennings of Washington St., died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at the Franklin Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Chestnut Street, following a long illness.
She was the wife of Nicola Narducci, who died in 1989.
Born in St. Maria del Molise, Italy, a daughter of the late Angelo and Elizabeth Colace, she lived in Franklin since coming to the United States in 1956. She was educated in Italy.
A retired homemaker, Mrs. Narducci was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens, the American Association of Retired Persons, and was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church.
She leaves 59 direct descendants, including five sons, Carmine Narducci of Australia, Angelo, Joseph and Domenic Narducci of Franklin and Michael Narducci of Medway; two daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" Carlucci and Jennie Guilmette of Franklin; 21 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was also the sister of the late Anthony and Carmenella Colace.
The funeral will take place Saturday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St., with a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 1 Church Square, at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will follow in the family lot in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Isabelle G. (Warren) Nelson, 89
HOPEDALE - Isabelle G. (Warren) Nelson, 89, of Hopedale, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at the Continuing Care Center of Hopedale.
She was the wife of Lloyd W. Nelson, who died in 1994.
She was born in Whitinsville, daughter of the late Leon and Minnie (Shippee) Warren. She was a resident of Hopedale since 1981, previously being a longtime Mendon resident. She was also a Milford resident many years ago.
Mrs. Nelson was a licensed practical nurse for many years, and was employed by Knowlton Manor Nursing Home in Upton, and several other area nursing homes, as well as providing private home care nursing. She retired in 1975.
She was a member of the Hopedale Unitarian Church and participated in many church activities.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances Murphy and her husband, John, of Mendon; a son, Earl Nelson and his wife, Helen, of Boca Raton, Fla.; a sister, Grace McKinnon of Upton; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also the mother of the late Lois Elliott, who died in 1995, and Lloyd W. Nelson Jr., who died in 2000.
The funeral will take place Saturday, Nov. 30, at 2:30 p.m., in the Watson Colonial Funeral Home, 34 Congress St., Milford.
Burial will follow in Vernon Grove Cemetery in Milford.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, Nov. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Linda A. (Vasile) Menard, 53
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Linda A. (Vasile) Menard, 53, formerly of Uxbridge, died at her home in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002.
She was the daughter of the late Dominic Vasile, formerly of Milford and Uxbridge, and Justine (Donatelli) Vasile Wolf, formerly of Uxbridge, and now residing in Sedona, Ariz. She was a 1967 graduate of Uxbridge High School.
She was employed as a dining room manager at the Carefree Conference Resort in Carefree, Ariz.
Survivors include her mother; her daughter, Marisa Menard of Scottsdale; her aunts, Rose (Vasile) Lazzerini of Milford and Nena (Donatelli) Bisbee of Whitinsville; her uncles, Adrian Donatelli of Uxbridge and Anthony Donatelli of Mendon; as well as numerous cousins.
Following services in Phoenix and a celebration of life Mass at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Sedona, she was laid to rest next to her father in Sedona Community Cemetery in Sedona.
