Aldino P. Berte, 83, of Framingham
FRAMINGHAM - Aldino " Dino " P. Berte, 83, a retired captain of the Framingham Police Department and a lifelong resident of Framingham, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston.
He was the husband of 60 years of Maria (Gasparoni) Berte, who died in 1999.
Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Peter and Julia (Ghessi) Berte.
Mr. Berte started his police career in 1941 and was assigned as a Special Police Officer to guard the town’s water supply, a position held for two years. He was then inducted in the U.S. Army in 1944 as a military police officer until the end of the war. He and his four brothers served in the U.S. Armed Forces at the same time.
Two days following his discharge from the Army, he became a full-time Framingham police officer, serving under Chief McCarthy. He was promoted to sergeant in 1952, and was responsible for supervising 20 officers. In 1962 he was promoted to captain, becoming one of two executive officers, retiring as such in 1982, after a career of 41 years with the Town of Framingham.
Captain Berte was very active with the town of Framingham and with many clubs and societies. He was actively involved at St. Tarcisius Church, where he was a parishioner for 50 years and served as an usher for many years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society, and a member of the Christopher Columbus Society.
In 1996, Captain Berte was chosen to be the Grand Marshal of Framingham’s Flag Day Parade.
He leaves two children, A. Paul Berte and his wife, Susan, of Manchester, Conn. and Elaine and her husband, Michael Russo, of Southborough; six grandchildren, Sira Pearson of Yarmouth, New York, New York, N.H.; a sister, Linda Augustanelli of Framingham; seven grandchildren, Tammy Pooler of Hudson, Ashley, Emily and Corey Collins, all of Hudson, James Dascoli of Worcester, and Mark Dascoli of Marlborough; a great-granddaughter, Kayla Pooler of Hudson; and three nephews.
She was the mother of the late Michael A. Rudolph and Jill Rudolph; the sister of the late David O’Leary; and the grandmother of the late Richard Dascoli.
A funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m., at the Lincoln Chapel of the Sullivan-Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough.
Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, Feb. 11, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the funeral home.

Priscilla M. Raymond, 100, formerly of Marlborough
ATTLEBORO - Priscilla M. (DAmico) Raymond, 100, of Attleboro, formerly of Marlborough, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro, after a period of failing health.
She was the wife of the late Howard E. Raymond.
Born in Marlborough, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Concetta (Conde) DAmico.
She was employed as an interpreter at the U.S. Pentagon many years ago. She was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Marlborough, and a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Attleboro.
She leaves a daughter, Mary A. Zonfrillo of Plainville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 8 a.m., from the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., Marlborough, followed by a Mass at 9 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough.
Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be Monday, Feb. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m,. at the funeral home.
Joseph A. Maron, 76, of Natick
NATICK - Joseph A. Maron, 76, of Natick, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at Leonard Morse Hospital at MetroWest Medical Center in Natick, following a long illness.
He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Lambert) Maron.
Born in Boston, he was a son of the late Joseph and Edith (Jennings) Maron. A resident of Natick for the past 46 years, Mr. Maron was raised in the South End section of Boston, and later moved to Cambridge.
Mr. Maron was educated in the Boston school system, and was a graduate of Mechanics Arts High School in Boston. Prior to his retirement, he was a mechanical engineer for Ionics Corp. of Watertown for 24 years.
Mr. Maron was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in Germany and Central Europe. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theater campaign ribbon; the American Theater campaign ribbon; and the Army of Occupation medal of Germany. He was discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. Following his discharge from the service, he entered the Army Reserves and taught classes at the Boston Army Base, retiring from the reserves with the rank of chief warrant officer.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Dorothy M. Weiner and her husband, Jerome, of Milford, and Lorna S. Hutchins and her husband, Kenneth, of Medway; two brothers, Richard Maron of Tyngsboro and Charles Maron of Billerica; two sisters, Catherine Prouty of Bridgeton, Massachusetts, 29 Crafts St., Suite 450, Newton, MA 02160.
Edna J. Mael, of Milford
MILFORD - Edna J. (Margolis) Mael, of Milford, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at the Geriatric Authority of Milford.
She was the wife of the late Leon J. Mael for 51 years.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Newman and Lena (Addelson) Margolis.
She was the former owner, director and teacher of the Mother Goose Nursery School in Milford, a Hebrew teacher for more than 35 years at Temple Beth Shalom in Milford, and taught more than ,2000 students.
She leaves three daughters, Debbie Mael and her husband, Thomas Mandino, of Natick, Naomi Litrownik and her husband, Robert, of Needham, and Karen Beth Mael of Allston; a sister, Eleanor Gun of Newton; three grandchildren, Michael and Daniel Litrownik and Michelle Mandino; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Feb. 11, at 10:30 a.m., at the Levine Chapel, 470 Harvard St., Brookline.
Burial will be at Sharon Memorial Park.
Shiva will be at her home through Friday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m.

Janet M. Delmore, 47, of Waltham
WALTHAM - Janet M. Delmore, 47, of Waltham, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at Mount Auburn Hospital.
Born in Medford, she was the daughter of Jean M. (Cavanaugh) Delmore and the late Raymond F. Delmore.
Ms. Delmore was a graduate of Waltham High School, Class of 1972. She was employed in the accounting department of the Tufts Health Plan for three years. She previously worked for 12 years for the Granda Hospital Group in Burlington.
Besides her mother, she leaves her sisters, Patricia A. Callahan and her husband, John, of Marlborough, and Mary E. Woodside and her husband, Kenneth, of Leominster; her brother, John P. Delmore of Grand Junction, Florida; a brother, Robert Joyce of San Antonio, Texas; and nieces and nephews.
