Mary M. Kane, 86, of Framingham
FRAMINGHAM - Mary M. (Leddy) Kane, 86, of Framingham, formerly of Fall River and Yarmouthport, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham after a short illness.
She was the wife of Brigadier General John F. Kane, former mayor of Fall River from 1953 to 1958.
She was the daughter of the late John E. and Mary (Lally) Leddy and was an accomplished and distinguished oil painter.
Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Marilyn P. Franciose and her husband, Robert J., of Framingham, and Barbara A. Canal and her husband, Robert, of Framingham; five grandchildren, Robert Canal of Hopkinton, Stephen Canal and David Canal of Framingham, Brian Franciose of Londonderry, Calif.; two sons, Paul F. Marandett and his wife, Nancy C., of Dover, and Mark J. Marandett and his wife, Beverly J., of Derry, Massachusetts Teachers Association. He was a former junior varsity football coach and a former girls varsity tennis coach at Acton-Boxboro Regional High School. He coached Little League baseball in Harvard and enjoyed golf, traveling and running, completing the 100th Boston Marathon run in 1996. Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Claire M. Madden of Jamaica Plain, Sarah M. Madden on Bethesda, Md., and Emily K. Madden of Greenfield, Calif.; four sisters, Alice Donnelly of Smithville, N.J., Regina Costello of Holland, Penn., Rose Crowley of Weston, Vt., and Kathleen Stewart of Hudson; and three grandchildren, Isabelle DeSisto, Camille DeSisto and Peter DeSisto, all of Jamaica Plain. He was the brother of the late Irene A. Manning and Marie Galanis. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, at 10:30 a.m., at the St. Theresa Church, Stillriver Road, Harvard. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery, Harvard. Visiting hours will be Friday, Feb. 23, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main St., Marlborough. Fiorino M. Villani, 80, of Milford
MILFORD - Fiorino M. Villani, 80, of Milford, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at the Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital. He was the husband of 54 years of Maria (Villani) Villani. Born in Cansano, Italy, the son of the late Salvatore and Maria (Ruscitti) Villani, he immigrated to Canada in 1952 and moved to Milford in 1960. While in Italy, he served as a master sergeant in the Italian Army during World War II, serving in North Africa and Greece, and also was a P.O.W. He owned and operated Villani’s cobbler shop on Main Street in Milford for many years. He was a machinist for the former Draper Corporation for many years. Besides his wife, he leaves one son, Leo Villani of Milford; one daughter, Mary Sannicandro of Milford; one brother, Dominic Villani of Canada; and four granddaughters, Tracie Sannicandro of Richmond, Va., Tara Sannicandro of Seattle, Wash., Tina Sannicandro of Pittsburgh, Penn., and Tanya Sannicandro of Milford. A funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 22, at 9 a.m., from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 5 East Main St.. Milford. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Medway Road, Milford. Calling hours are Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m.
