Alice L. Ayer, 87, of Weston

WESTON - Alice L. Ayer, 87, of Weston, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at the Deaconess-Waltham Hospital in Waltham.
Born in Waltham, the daughter of the late Merton and Alice (Stevens) Ayer, Miss Ayer was a graduate of Weston High School, Class of 1931. She attended Graves School of Costume Design from 1931 to 1932.
She was employed for more than 40 years at Kemper Insurance Company.
Miss Ayer was a member of the Senior Citizen’s Club in Weston where she was corresponding secretary from 1985 to the present.
She leaves her niece, Nancy Dearstine and her husband, Roland, of Delaware; her nephew, John M. Harbin and his wife, Lucy, of Maryland; and her cousin, Virginia Megson and her husband, Robert, of Wayland.
She was the sister of the late Marjorie P. Harbin.
A graveside service was Feb. 16 at Linwood Cemetery, Weston.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Joyce Funeral Home, Waltham.

Alda L. Curley, 76, Hudson
HUDSON - Alda L. (Saulnier) Curley, 76, of Hudson, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at the UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester.
She was the wife of Gerald F. Curley for 53 years.
Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Theodore A. and Martha L. (Gallagher) Saulnier and lived in the Hudson-Framingham area all her life.
She was a graduate of Framingham High School, Class of 1942, and Bryant Stratton College, Class of 1944. She was a member of Court St. John Eudes No. 987, Catholic Daughters of America, and a former longtime member of the Sweet Adelines.
Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Patricia M. Foley of Nahant and Maureen F. Curley of West Medford; a son, Gerald F. Curley Jr. of Marlborough; three sisters, Mary S. Potter of Reno, Nev., and Dorothy A. Saulnier and Eleanor J. Ward, both of Framingham; one granddaughter, Sarah M. Foley of Hudson; and nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 23, from the Merrill-Carleton Funeral Home, 1 Pleasant St., Hudson, with a Mass at 9 a.m., at St. Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson.
Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, Feb. 22, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Sheila W. Sullivan, 59, Wayland
WAYLAND - Sheila W. Sullivan, 59, of Wayland, formerly of Natick, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at the Emerson Hospital in Concord following a long illness.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Roland and Barbara (Strout) Sullivan, both of Framingham.
A longtime Wayland resident, she previously lived in Natick and was a graduate of Natick High School, Class of 1959. She was an administrative assistant at Alpha Industries in Woburn. She enjoyed needlework, her cats and reading.
Besides her parents, she leaves two sisters, Rebecca M. Sullivan of Framingham and Lucinda Metsch of Maynard; a brother, Craig Sullivan of Norwood; two nieces and four nephews; two step-nieces; and dear friends, Maggie and Paul Plisinski of North Andover.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 23, at 1 p.m., at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte. 30), Wayland.
Burial will be at the Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
There will be no visiting hours.
Donations can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Massachusetts professional engineering license for many years.
He began his career with the experimental engineering department of the Seversky Aircraft Corporation at Farmingdale, Long Island, Washington, D.C. He transferred to the engineering department of the Office of the Quartermaster General, Bradford C. Dennis and Walter H. Dennis.
Services will be private.
There will be no visiting hours.

Sr. William Clare Walsh, C.S.J, Framingham
FRAMINGHAM - Sister William Clare Walsh, C.S.J. (Mary Clare Walsh), a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph for 80 years and the Bethany Community in Framingham, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at the Bethany Healthcare Center in Framingham.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late James P. and Hanora (O’Connor) Walsh.
She was a retired teacher formerly missioned at Cathedral, Boston; William, Dorchester; St. Paul, Cambridge; Immaculate Conception, Marlborough; St. Raphael, Medford; and was a former resident at Fontbonne Hall, Framingham.
She leaves two nieces, Mary C. Walsh of Boston and Sr. Helen Mary McGonagle, C.S.J. of Brighton; two nephews, William J. Walsh of Charlestown, R.I. and the Rev. James E. McGonagle, C.S.R. of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and many grand nieces and nephews, and great-grandnieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Helen G. (Walsh) McGonagle, William, Joseph, and Arthur Walsh; and the aunt of the late Joseph G., A. Vincent, and Gerard J. McGonagle.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, at 9:30 a.m., at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, 97 Bethany Road, Framingham.
Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Roslindale.
Visiting hours will be Friday, Feb. 23, from 3 to 5 and 6 to 7 p.m., at St. Joseph Hall, 93 Bethany Road, Framingham, with a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m.

Robert R. Grenon, 82, of Hudson
HUDSON - Robert R. Grenon, 82, of Hudson, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at his home after a long illness.
He was the husband of the late Alice (Bousquet) Grenon, who died in 1977.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Sawyer) Grenon.
A veteran of World War II in the Army Air Corps, he was a member of Hudson AMVETS, Hudson VFW Post in Hudson, Hudson American Legion and the Marlborough Loyal Order of the Moose, and the Hudson Eagles.
He was an inspector at General Motors in Framingham, retiring in 1981.
He is survived by four daughters, Diane Clemons of Marlborough, Debra Canty of Hudson, Robin Grenon of Grafton and Agnes Cassavecchia of Clinton; and one son, Gordon Greska of Hudson; and by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral was Monday, Feb. 19, from the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, with a funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Michael Church, 21 Manning St. Burial was in St. Michael cemetery.
Viola L. DiPersio, 78, Hudson
HUDSON - Viola L. DiPersio, 78, of Hudson, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at the UMass Memorial Healthcare-Marlborough Hospital in Marlborough.
She was the wife of the late Angelo DiPersio.
Born in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Idalina (Costodio) Marini.
She was a 1941 graduate of Hudson High School. She was employed at the Lance Corporation in Hudson before retiring, and was a member of the Hudson Senior Citizens.
She leaves two daughters, Karen Henderson of Hudson and Angela Jackson of Acton; two sons, Thomas DiPersio of Hudson and Robert DiPersio of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Frank Marini of Hudson and C. Peter Marini of Bangor, Maine; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, from the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St. (Rte. 62), Hudson, with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m., at St. Michael Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson.
Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be Friday, Feb. 23, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
