Sr. Susan Schmidt, CGS (Susan J. Schmidt.
She attended Sacred Heart School in Rhode Island. In 1936 she was one of the sisters who opened the Contemplative Sisters of the Good Shepherd Community in Providence, R.I. She professed her first vows on July 22, 1939, dedicating her life to pray for all persons, especially those served by the Good Shepherd Congregation. She assisted the sisters in the kitchen and in making alter breads for various churches.
Due to failing health, Sister " Susie Q " was missioned to Cranberry Pointe Nursing Center in Harwich, where she led many residents and staff members in prayer.
She leaves several cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was Saturday, Feb. 17, at 9:30 a.m., at the Good Shepherd Center Chapel in Marlborough.
Burial was at Mount Benedict Cemetery, Boston.

Bernard F. Engel
CITRUS HILLS, Fla. - Bernard F. Engel, 73, of Citrus Hills, Hernando, Fla., died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, in Inverness, Fla.
He was the husband of Janet Engel of Hernando. They were married for 50 years.
Originally from Framingham, Mr. Engel lived in Calif., Susan Juliani of Framingham, Mary Jo Whitehead of Marlborough, Patricia Montgomery of Marlborough and Lisa Mullin of Northborough; a son, James E. Whitehead Jr. of Ashland; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Montgomery, Kelsey Mullin, Jack Mullin, Derek Juliani, Melanie Adams, Michael Smith and Shelli Smith; a niece, Patricia Gori of Forestdale; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Mary Sicotte.
A funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 26, at 9:15 a.m., from the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. George’s Church, 74 School St., Framingham (Saxonville).
Burial will follow at Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, Feb. 25, from 1 to 5 p.m., at the funeral home.

NATICK - Glenys Reinette (Carlson) Scribner, 86, of Natick, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at the Leonard Morse Hospital at MetroWest Medical Center in Natick.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home at Natick Common, and are incomplete at this time.
Lorraine F. Wright, 82, of Marlborough
MARLBOROUGH - Lorraine F. (Chaput) Wright, 82, of Marlborough, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at her home following an illness.
She was the wife of George Wright, who died in 1986.
Born in Marlborough, and a lifelong resident, she was the daughter of the late C. Albert and Philomena (St. Laurent) Chaput.
Mrs. Wright was employed as an assembler for the Dennison Manufacturing Co., Marlborough, for many years before retiring in 1980. Following her retirement, she was employed by Arrow Automotive for several years.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Marlborough.
She leaves her son and daughter-in-law, George and Celeste Wright of Marlborough; her daughters, Florence Villeneuve and Charlotte Wright, both of Marlborough; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was also the mother of Shirley Wright, who died in 1987.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, Feb. 15, at 9 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church, Broad Street, Marlborough.
Burial followed at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Beach Street, Marlborough.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Slattery Funeral Home Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.

Mary C. Moffatt
ASHLAND - Mary C. (Watts) Moffatt, 85, of Ashland, formerly of Natick, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at the Oak Knoll Healthcare Center in Framingham.
She was the wife of the late John A. Moffatt, deputy fire chief of the Natick Fire Department.
Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Stapleton) Watts.
Prior to her retirement, she was a Town of Natick school crossing guard at the Johnson School in Natick for more than 10 years and had previously worked at the Dennison Manufacturing Company in Framingham, and the Roxbury Carpet Company in Saxonville.
She leaves a daughter, Maureen E. Disney and her husband, Ralph, of Ashland; a sister, Rita Killeen and her husband, William, of Whitinsville; three grandchildren, Darlene Pease and her husband, Wayne, of Ashland, Kariene Estey and her husband, Scott, of Natick, and John M. Disney of Natick; four great-grandchildren, Craig Pease, Kylene Pease, Serene Pease and Michael Estey; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late James " Bernie " Watts and Joseph Watts.
A funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, at 8:15 a.m., from the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., Framingham, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m., at St. Linus Church, 119 Hartford St., Natick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick.
There will be no visiting hours.
