John J. Veronick
Worcester - John J. Veronick, 84, of 6 Duncannon Ave. died August 1 in UMass-Memorial Hospital, Memorial Campus.
He is survived by his wife of forty seven years, Pauline J (Zurlis) Veronick, a son James J Veronick of Sutton Mass. a daughter Jean Corriveau of Worcester and two sisters Annie Kamyck and Helen Prizio both of Worcester. Three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mr. Veronick was born in Whitefield Maine before moving to Worcester. He lived in Milford prior to returning to Worcester twenty years ago.
He was educated in Milford Schools, and attended The University of Mass. School of Labor Relations. He participated in The Civilian Conservation Corps. in 1932.
He retired in 1980 after forty years employment as a Press Operator for Wyman Gordon Company, Worcester.
He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish, and was a Fourth Degree member of Alhambra Council, Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of The Steelworkers Union Local 2285.
Mr. Veronick attended the Institute of Industrial Relations at Holy Cross College. He also played semi-professional baseball in Milford many years ago.
The funeral will be held Monday August 6 with a Mass at 10:30am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church 34 Ward Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.

Margaret-Mary C. Bray
Worcester - Margaret-Mary C. Bray 54 of 36 Kingsbury Street died July 31 in her home following an illness.
Her husband Merton C Bray died several years ago. Mrs. Bray is survived by a son Michael E Kabachenski III and a daughter Caroliinne A Kabachenski both of Worcester. Two brothers Raymond Cedar of Philadelphia Texas. Three sisters Dorothy Busha of Philadelphia New Jersey and Phyllis McErlain of Philadelphia Texas died in 1996.
She was born in Worcester a daughter of Richard and Mary (Farrington) Cedar and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a graduate of David Hale Fanning Trade High School. She worked as a Hairdresser and Beautician for various Beauty Salons prior to retiring fifteen years ago due to illness.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.

Christine S. (Adamiak) Hunter
Worcester - Christine S. (Adamiak) Hunter, 81, formerly of 201 Providence Street, died Thursday, July 26, in The Meadows of Leicester, after an illness.
Her husband, Ivo J. Hunter, died in 1986. She leaves a son, James J. Hunter of Spencer; two brothers, Edmund G. and Harold A. Adamiak, both of Worcester; two sisters, Virgina D. Wright of Shrewsbury and Loretta D. Berry of Oxford; 2 grandsons; 1 great grandchild; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Stanley V. and Catherine A. (Krol) Adamiak, and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Hunter graduated from the former Commerce High School. She was a member of Ascension Parish.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 30, in Ascension Church, 40 Vernon Street. There are no calling hours. Henry Funeral Home, 33 Ward Street, is directing arrangements.
Andrew P. Szpakowski
Worcester - Andrew P. Szpakowski, 41, of 6 Whitney Street, died Wednesday, July 25, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, after being stricken ill.
He leaves a son, Christopher Szpakowski of Worcester; a daughter, Elzbieta Szpakowski of Worcester; his mother, Anna (Galanek) Szpakowski of Worcester; a sister, Elzbieta Szymanski of Worcester; aunts, uncles, and cousins in Worcester and Poland. He was born in Warsaw, Poland, son of Walter Szpakowski and came to Worcester in 1976. He graduated from North High School.
Mr. Szpakowski was a custodian at St. Mary's School. He previously worked at Table Talk Pie Co. and the College of the Holy Cross.
He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish.
The funeral will be Monday, July 30, from Henry Funeral Home, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 29, in the funeral home.
Richard Goclowski
WORCESTER - Richard Goclowski, 43, of 16 Jefferson St., died Wednesday July 18, in The Greenery Extended Care Center, 59 Acton St.
He leaves his mother, Janina (Wasilewska) Goclowski of Worcester; three brothers, Stanley Kowalczyk of Worcester; Walter Goclowski of Gilbertville and Andrew Goclowski of Worcester; four sisters, Irene Chrostowski of Worcester; Terry Casamasina of Holden; Krystyna Goclowski and Wanda Goclowski both of Worcester; and many nephews and nieces. Two brothers died before him, Charles Goclowski of Monroe, CT., in 2000 and John Goclowski of Worcester in 1972. He was born in Poland, son of Matthew Goclowski and had lived in Worcester for 38 years.
Mr. Goclowski was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.
The funeral will be held on Saturday July 21, from Henry Funeral Home, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday July 20 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Robert P. Mendys
WORCESTER - Robert P. Mendys, 60, of 44 Wellington St., died Monday July 16 in his home.
He leaves his uncle, Stanley T. Mendys of Auburn. His brother, Paul W. Mendys of Worcester died in 1990. He was born in Worcester, son of Peter P. and Beatrice A. (Lescavage) Mendys and lived here all his life.
Mr. Mendys was once a laborer several years for the Worcester Fish Co.
A graveside service will be held Friday July 20 at 11 a.m. in St. John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge St. There are no calling hours. Henry Funeral Service, 33 Ward St., is directing funeral arrangements.
Marion E. Donovan
Worcester - Marion E. Donovan, of 27 Mount Vernon Streetm died Friday, July 13, in UMass-Memorial Medical Center- University Campus, after an illness.
She leaves a son, Walter R. Donovan of Port Richey, FL; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a great-great grandson. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John M. and Elizabeth B. (Savage) Donovan, and lived here all her life. She attended Worcester schools.
She was a former member of the former Chestnut Congregational Church. She was a volunteer at the Worcester Senior Center.
Ms. Donovan was a machine worker and moulder for several area companies before retiring.
