WENDELL - Dorothy G. (Lowe) Cleveland, 61, of 426 Jennnison Rd., died Thursday, March 27, 2003 in her home from cancer.
She leaves her husband of 40 years, Massachusetts, Amherst, and her Masters Degree in Education Administration from Cambridge University, Cambridge.
Dorothy devoted her personal and professional life to nurturing the growth and development of young people. She worked for Headstart in Franklin, Worcester, and Hampden Counties and most recently was the director of the Child Care Development Center at Keene State College.
Dorothy was a founding member of the Cheshire Children's Network and was appointed by Keene Mayor Michael J. Blastos to the Task Force on Childcare. She was on the board of directors for Child First, a childcare advocacy organization, a board member of the Council of Child Development Laboratory Administrators and was active in the Monadnock Partnership for Children, all in Keene.
Dorothy was also on the Zoning Board of Appeals in Wendell.
Calling hours will be held at the town hall, on the common in Wendell, on Saturday, April 5 from 2 - 5 p.m. Children are welcome.
A celebration of her life will happen in June at a date and time to be announced.

GARDNER - Henry J. Fontaine, 34, of 317 Pleasant St., and formerly of Orange, died Thursday, March 27, 2003 at his residence.
Irene B. Mills Enjoyed Family, Friends
ORANGE - Irene B. (Labshere) Mills, 80, of 72 East Main St., died on Sunday evening, March 30, 2003 at home following an illness. She was surrounded by her family.
Born on Sept. 1, 1922 in Rutland, Vt., a daughter of John and Mary (Duffy) Labshere, she moved to the Athol - Orange area in 1941. She grew up in the Rutland area graduating from Middle Granville High School, Granville, Texas, Patrick E. Deyo of California, Jolene A. Michaud of Orange and Jean A. Cormier of Athol. He was the brother of Wilbert A. Mallet and Arthur J. Mallet both of Athol, and leaves 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was also father of the late David E. Mallet, and brother of the late Joseph, Alfred, Edward, Howard, and Albert Mallet, and Olsena Gagliardi.
Following cremation a memorial Mass will be celebrated in the Our Lady Immaculate Church, Athol on Saturday, April 5 at 1 p.m.
Interment of ashes will take place in the family plot in Gethsemane Cemetery at a later date.

John J. Stott N.D. Cass Worker
ATHOL - John J. Stott, 82, of 33 Gibson Dr., formerly of Wellington Street, died on Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Farren Care Center in Turners Falls.
He was born in Lowell, on Nov. 16, 1920, the son of Thomas H. and Ellen M. (Brown) Stott. He grew up in Lowell, attended Lowell schools, and since 1946 had lived in the Athol area.
He had worked at the N.D. Cass Company in Athol until he became disabled in 1948. He enjoyed spending time with his many grandchildren, loved listening to music, playing cards, especially cribbage and hearts.
His wife of 47 years, Evelyn A. (Stevens) Stott died in 1993. He leaves three sons, Thomas B. Stott of New Braintree, Charles Baker of Orange, and Donald G. Baker of Gardner; two daughters, Sharon Morse of Gardner, Patricia Carleton of Marlboro; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and two brothers, Henry Stott of Lowell, and Phillip Stott of Littleton, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 2, at 11 a.m. at the Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fr. Stephen D. Johnson, pastor of Our Lady Immaculate Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Tully Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 1, 2003, from 6 to 8 p.m.

ORANGE - Funeral services for Eleanor B. Call, 85, of 383 East River St., who died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, were held on Friday, March 28, at 11 a.m. in the Athol Congregational Church, Athol. The Rev. Harold Lloyd, Jr., Pastor, officiated and Anne Carley was the organist.
Bearers were Frank Witts of Orange, Glenn P. Blanchard of Maine, and formerly of Orange, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior on March 28, 2003 at the Gregory Wing of St. Andrews Village, Boothbay Harbor.
He was born on April 8, 1909 in Orange, a son of William and Evangeline Taylor. He graduated from Orange High School.
In 1935 he married Alvina Webber. He was a self employed carpenter throughout his career and he also worked as a ships carpenter on mine sweepers at Sample Shipyard prior to World War II. He also served with the Navy 69th Construction Battallion during World War II.
He was a longtime member of the Southport Methodist Church, the Southport Fire Department, and the Seaside Lodge of the Masons. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed hunting with his son - in - law and camping with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alvina Taylor, a resident of Gregory Wing in Boothbay Harbor; a daughter, Kathryn Lufkin of Brooklin, Calif.; three brothers, Everett Taylor of Athol, Lloyd Taylor of Orange and Vernon Taylor of Marietta, Ga.; and three grandchildren and three great - grandchildren.
A funeral service in celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 31 at the Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home, Boothbay. A burial will follow in Union Cemetery. Rev. DanaBeth Wells - Goodwin will officiate.

Joseph W. Huntoon Native Of Athol
WARE - Joseph W. Huntoon., 71, of 55 Pulaski St., died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at the Life Care Center in Wilbraham following an illness.
He was born on March 3, 1932 in Athol, son of Harland and Marion (smith) Huntoon, and had resided in Barre for 30 years and has lived in Ware for five years.
He was a receiver for the T.J. Maxx company.
He leaves two sisters, Caroline B. Moody of Athol and Deanna Harding of Westminster, and many nieces and nephews. Two sisters predeceased him.
Following cremation, a grave side service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol. There are no calling hours.
The Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main St., Athol is directing the funeral arrangements.
