Norman D. Johnstone World War II Veteran
NORTH ATTLEBORO - Norman D. Johnstone, 83, of David Road, died Tuesday morning, March 25, 2003, in his home.
He was the husband of Ruth (Bisbee) Johnstone.
Born Dec. 4, 1919 in Scotland, he was a son of the late Archibald C. and Janet (Ross) Johnstone.
He had been a resident of North Attleboro since 1960. He grew up and lived many years in Athol, and is a graduate of Athol High School.
He is a United States Navy Veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater and was part of the Normandy invasion.
He worked for Reed & Barton in Gardner, and later North Attleboro. He retired from Balfour Co. in December, 1983 where he worked as a purchasing agent for 20 years.
He was a member of Old Towne Congregational Church, and a former deacon. He was an avid gardener and past member of the Rod and Gun Club in Athol.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Heather McCrystal of Norton and Luanne Stauff of Attleboro; two sons, David Johnstone of Windham, Leblanc of Athol; three grandchildren and a niece.
Mr. Brough worked 12 years at the No. 7 Mill of the Crocker Burbank Paper Company in Fitchburg. He later worked several years at Ford Parts Rebuilders in Fitchburg, and most recently as a part time driver for the City Cab Company, Fitchburg.
He served as president of the Ford Parts Rebuilders Social Club. He was a graduate of St. Joseph's School and the B.F. Brown Vocational School, both in Fitchburg.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 27 at the Louis M. Isabelle Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery, Westminster.

Eleanor B. Call Artist, Cake Decorator
ORANGE - Eleanor B. (Blanchard) Call, 85, of 383 East River St., Orange died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, in Athol Memorial Hospital. ¥
She was born in Athol on January 28, 1918 the daughter of Howard K. and Bertha (Stoddard) Blanchard. She grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School.
Mrs. Call was a bookkeeper at Athol Memorial Hospital for many years. She and her late husband, Percy A. "Bud" Call owned and operated Call's Market in Athol for many years.
She was a member of the Athol Congregational Church. She was Deaconess of the church and a member of the Emblem Club.
She was an artist and a cake decorator.
She leaves a daughter, Barbara C. Stone of Meriden, Conn.; three sisters, Elizabeth Vaughn of Millers Falls, Ann Cody of Athol, Aileen Desrosier of Selbyville, Del.; a brother, Glenn Blanchard of Locust Grove, Vir.; two grandchildren, Brenda C. Stone of Meriden, Conn., Michael E. Stone of Chepachet, R.I.
She was predeceased by her husband, Percy A. "Bud" Call who died in 1969; and by a brother, Howard Blanchard, who died in World War II.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28, at 11 a.m. in the Athol Congregational Church 1225 Chestnut St., with Rev. Harold V. Lloyd Jr., pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Fiske Funeral Home 1356 Main St.

TURNERS FALLS - Exilda C. (Parenteau) Carme, 91, formerly of Fourth Street, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at the Poet's Seat Nursing Home in Greenfield.
John B. Price
GARDNER - John B. Price, 65, of 104 Ridgewood Lane, a barbershop owner and Navy veteran, died sunday, March 23, 2003 at home after an illness. He served in the Navy for 10 years in active duty and as a reservist.
Centenarian Sarah Renault Age 100, Dies
ATHOL - Sarah E. (Rosenthal) Renault, 100, of 821 Daniel Shays Hwy., formerly of 1050 Main St., Worcester, a retired bookeeper, died Sunday, March 23, 2003 in Athol Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She leaves a daughter, Rosalie Carville of Wendell Depot; a sister, Nettie Lichenstein of Bronx, N.Y. - Harold J. Craw, DMD, died Thursday, March 20, 2003. He is predeceased by his wife, Adele. He is survived by his daughters, Dorothy (David) Davis, and Barbara (James) Herbert of Athol, four grandchildren, Susan (Jeremiah) Wilson, Mary Ann Hurd, Bonnie Herbert and Sara Davis, a great - granddaughter; his brother, William; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, March 24 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc., 340 West Avenue.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 25 at 2 p.m. from the First Presbyterian Church, State Street. Spring interment will be in Lake View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Steuben Health Care Center, Bath, N.Y., or the First Presbyterian church of Brockport.

ATHOL - Funeral services for Jean E. (Renwick) Aiken, 78, of 437 Lenox St. were held Saturday, March 22, 2003, at the Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. R. Lee Smith, pastor of Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial followed in Silver Lake Cemetery and the bearers were; Bruce Anderson, Bruce Maroni, John Maroni, Aaryn Aiken, Ryan Aiken, Peter Whitmer, and John Renwick.
Phyllis Black Press Operator
ORANGE - Phyllis Black, 85, of Orange died on Wednesday, March 19, 2003, in the Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
She was born in Westminster on April 13, 1917, the daughter of Carlton L. and Bertha (Richards) Black. She attended schools in Westminster.
Ms. Black worked as a printing press operator at U.S. Envelope in Worcester for more than 25 years. She was a member of the South Athol United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Black of Athol; four nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews and 11 great great nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and butterflies.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 28, at 2 p.m. in the Woodside Cemetery, 9 Narrows Rd., Westminster. Daniel Parsons of the Athol Salvation Army Corps will officiate.
There are no calling hours.
