Constance G. Greenman
PAXTON - Constance G. (Gilbert) Greenman, 98, of Waltham, formerly of Worcester and Paxton, died Monday, January 20, 2003 in the Leland Home, Waltham.
Her husband, Lawrence P. Greenman, died in 1952. She leaves two sons, Lawrence Greenman of Johannesburg, South Africa, and John Starr Greenman of Norge, Va.; two daughters, Elizabeth Greenman of Waltham and Heike G. Pelka of N.Y., daughter of the Rev. John M. and Mary (Starr) Gilbert, came to Worcester in 1933, then moved to Paxton in 1950. She graduated from Wellesley College in 1926.
Mrs. Greenman taught science at Shepherd Knapp School, Boylston, and was a teacher at Head Start in Worcester. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Worcester, for more than 60 years; a trustee of Shepherd Knapp School; and a director of Children's Friend Society, Worcester.
A memorial service was held January 25, in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Worcester. Burial will be in the spring in Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton. Memorial donations may be made to Heifer Project-Overlook Farm, Wachusett Street, Rutland, MA 01543. Caswell-King Funeral Home, 474 Grove St., Worcester (www.caswellking.com), is directing arrangements.

Eunice M. Johnson Luper
HOLDEN - Eunice M. (Johnson) Luper, 91, of Bellingham, Wash., formerly of Holden, died Tuesday, January 14, 2003 in Bellingham.
Her husband, Floyd O. Luper, died in 1962. She leaves many nieces and nephews, including Priscilla Austin of Holden and David Austin of Hingham. Six siblings predeceased her. She was born in Holden, daughter of George C. and Amy J. Johnson. She graduated from Holden High School, and received B.S. and M.S. degrees from Massachusetts.
Mrs. Luper was a World War II veteran, serving as a laboratory technician in the WAC. She re-entered the service during the Korean Conflict, when she became the first female officer in the Army Medical Service Corps.
No local funeral service is planned. Burial will be private in Grove Cemetery, Holden. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St. (www.milesfuneralhome.com), is directing local arrangements.

Rita M. O'Keefe
HOLDEN - Rita M. (Kilgore) O'Keefe, 86, formerly of Leicester, a former travel counselor, died Tuesday, January 21, 2003 in Holden Nursing Home.
Her husband, Francis M. O'Keefe, died in 1986. She leaves a son, Paul F. O'Keefe of Holden; a brother, Charles Kilgore of Northboro; a sister, Mabel Barnicle of Worcester; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. A daughter, Kathryn "Kelle" R. O'Keefe; and a brother Martin Kelley, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Lester H. and Catherine A. (Foudy) Kilgore, and moved to Leicester in 1950 after she married. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester.
Mrs. O'Keefe was a travel counselor at the American Auto Association for 15 years, retiring in 1978. She was a founding member of St. Pius X Church, where she was a choir member and soloist. She was a guest soloist at many area churches. She sang in the Worcester Festival Chorus and was a member of the Melodiers, and a woman's choral group in Worcester. She was a founding member of the Worcester County Chapter of the North American Family Campers Association. She crocheted hats for many years and donated them to many charities. She was known as "the hat lady."
The funeral was held on January 25, from O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue (oconnorbrothers.com), Worcester, with a Mass in St. Pius X Church, Leicester. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Memorial donations may be made to St. Pius X Church, Building Fund, 1154 Main St., Leicester, MA 01524.

Hector A. Ortiz Jr.
RUTLAND - Hector A. Ortiz Jr., 22, of 229 Pommoqussett Road, formerly of Worcester, died Thursday, January 23, 2003 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, after a long battle with Hodgkin's disease.
He leaves his mother, Mary L. (Bertrand) Ortiz with whom he lived; his father Hector A. Ortiz Sr. of Worcester; a brother, Luis Torres II of Rutland; a sister, Heidi M. Ortiz of Worcester; his maternal grandmother, Dolores (Nadeau) Mitchell of Oxford; and two nephews. He was born in Worcester, and lived most of his life in Worcester before moving to Rutland. He attended St Casimir's School.
The funeral service was held January 27, in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St. After cremation, burial of ashes will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Make a Wish foundation, 295 Devonshire St., Boston, MA 02110.

Estelle M. Perkins
STERLING - Estelle M. "Girlie" (Mosso) Perkins, 87, formerly of Clinton, Sterling, Falmouth and Leominster, died Sunday, January 26, 2003 in Birchwood Care Center, Fitchburg, following an illness.
Her husband of 55 years, Norman H. Perkins, died in 1988. She leaves a son, A. Raymond Perkins of Sterling; two daughters, E. Fay Lovejoy of East Providence, R.I., and Gail M. Cunningham of Oxford; a sister, Pearl Winship of Clinton; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Louis Mosso; and a grandson. She was born in Leominster, daughter of Ernest and Annie (Bradley) Mosso, and was raised in Clinton before moving to Sterling. She later moved to Falmouth where she lived for 14 years before returning to Leominster several years ago. She graduated from Clinton High School.
Mrs. Perkins worked at Duvarney Jewelers, Clinton, and along with her husband, owned and operated Waushacum Orchards in Sterling for many years until she retired. She was a member of St. Leo's Church in Leominster, and a former member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Clinton. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and a member of the Sterling Grange. In Falmouth, she was a member of St. Patrick's Women's Guild, St. Mary Sodality and the Falmouth Senior Citizens. She enjoyed walking on the beach, oil painting and knitting.
The funeral will be held yesterday, January 29, from Robert J. McNally Funeral Home, 304 Church Street, Clinton, with a Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Clinton. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. Memorial donations may be made to Birchwood Care Center Activity Fund, 1199 John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg, MA 01420 or to St. Leo's Church, 108 Main St., Leominster, MA 01453.

Richard E.L. Sandstrom
PRINCETON - Richard E.L. Sandstrom, 86, of 263B Worcester Road, died Tuesday, January 21, 2003 in Knollwood Nursing Center, Worcester, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Eleanor M. (Suprenant) Sandstrom; four sons, Kerry R. Sandstrom of Albuquerque, N.M., Karl A., Robert E. and Philip F. Sandstrom, all of Princeton; a daughter, Jean E. Sweet of Maynard; a sister, Clarry Arell of Cromwell, Conn.; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson; nieces and nephews. A sister, Sonja Jacobson, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Seth E. and Signe E. (Anderson) Sandstrom. He graduated in 1935 from North High School, Worcester, and attended North Park College in Chicago. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Clark University, Worcester. He lived in Oxford for 10 years before moving here in 1959.
Mr. Sandstrom was a professor at Photo Panels of New England, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Salem Covenant Church, Worcester, and its choir and male chorus. He was a Sunday school teacher for many years. He was also a member of the church council, the Trailblazers and Day Camp. He was a former member of the board of directors at Briarwood Corp., Worcester. He enjoyed gardening and stamp collecting.
A memorial service was held January 25, in Salem Covenant Church, Worcester. Memorial donations may be made to Salem Covenant Church, 215 East Mountain St., Worcester, MA 01606. Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, directed arrangements.

Milton W. Sebring
PAXTON - Milton W. Sebring, 94, of 12 Tanglewood Road, died Thursday, January 23, 2003 in Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center, Westboro.
His wife of 70 years, Althea K. (Mahar) Sebring, died in 2001. He leaves two daughters, Cynthia A. Atwood of Northboro and Martha J. Barnes of Santa Fe, N.M.; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Four brothers, Verne, Merril, Wesley and Leon Sebring, and a sister, Rita Powell, predeceased him. He was born in Easthampton, son of Archibald and Minnie (Seymour) Sebring, and lived here since 1970. He graduated from David Prouty High School, Spencer, and attended Clark University, Worcester.
Mr. Sebring was the department manager of the audio visual department at Norton Co., Worcester, where he worked 40 years, retiring in 1970. He was a former trustee, vice president and Board of Investment member of Spencer Savings Bank. He was also a member of First Congregational Church of Spencer. He enjoyed photography, gardening and woodworking.
The funeral service was held January 28, in J. Henri Morin & Son Funeral Home, 23 Maple Terrace, Spencer. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Stewart O. Bailey Sr.
HOLDEN - Stewart O. Bailey Sr., 86, of 59 Walnut Terrace, died Thursday, October 10, 2002 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after an illness.
His wife, Muriel (MacDonald) Bailey, died in 1994. He leaves a son, Stewart O. Bailey Jr. of Holden; two daughters, Gail E. Wicklund of Pittsfield and Linda B. Lane of Medford, N.J.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a nephew and nieces; and a close companion, Beulah Kronoff of Holden. He was born in Worcester, son of Ottis H. and Eva F. (Pettigrew) Bailey, and lived 11 years in Shrewsbury, and 49 years in Holden.
Mr. Bailey worked at Norton Co., Worcester, for 35 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holden, Morning Star Lodge of Masons and the 25-Year Club of Norton Co., both in Worcester.
Funeral services were held October 15, in Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St. (www.milesfuneralhome.com). Burial was in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Holden, 1216 Main St., Holden, MA 01520.

Nanna E. Bryngelson
HOLDEN - Nanna E. (Carlson) Bryngelson, 86, of 22 Kendell Road in the Jefferson section of Holden, died Saturday, October 12, 2002 in her home.
Her husband of 49 years, Robert C. Bryngelson Sr., died in 1991. She leaves a son, Robert C. Bryngelson Jr. of West Boylston; two daughters, Nancy A. Mazuca of Avon, Conn., and Jane C. Carlson of Holden; two sisters, Jean Swenson of Holden and Lillian Carlson of Shrewsbury; and five grandchildren. Four brothers and a sister predeceased her. She was born in Sweden, daughter of Fritz and Kristina (Arneson) Carlson, and lived in Holden most of her life. She was educated in Worcester schools.
Mrs. Bryngelson, a homemaker, was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for more than 50 years. She sang in the church's choir, and was a member of its Women's Circle and its Senior Koinonia. She was a member of the Nordic Lodge 611 and the Vassar Order of America, Worcester. She was an avid reader, and she enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod.
A memorial service was held October 16, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the UMass Memorial Hospice, 650 Lincoln St., Worcester, MA 01605; or to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury St., Holden, MA 01520. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.

Rocco Cappuccio
Rutland Š Rocco Cappuccio, 66, of 3 Blaire Drive, died Saturday, October 12, 2002, in the Hospice Residence, Worcester, after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 41 years, Ann Marie (Martin) Cappuccio, three sons, William R. Cappuccio of Havre De Grace, Md., Michael R. Cappuccio of Millbury and Paul A. Cappuccio of Rutland; two brothers, Antonio Cappuccio of Italy and Carlo Cappuccio of Jefferson; a sister, Rosina Locciatta of Italy; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A sister, Carmela Dansereau, died in 1992. He was born in Grattaninarda, Italy, son of Michaelangelo and Carlina (Ianiecillo) Cappuccio, and raised by his stepmother, Michelina (Flamina) Cappuccio.
Mr. Cappuccio was a cutter for Dansco of Attleboro. He was a member of St. PatrickÕs Church. He was a former Scout Master, and enjoyed carpentry and cabinet making.
A funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, in St. PatrickÕs Church, Main Street, Rutland. Burial was in Mount View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, directed arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Residence, 10 Judith Road, Worcester, MA 01602; or the American Lung Association, 1 Abbey Lane, Middleboro, MA 02346.
