Lawrence F. Mikulski
MILLBURY - Lawrence F. Mikulski, 83, of 3 Elmwood Ave., died Thursday June 7 in his home.
His wife, Ruth J. (Dudonis) Mikulski died in 1981.
He leaves two sons, Robert L. Mikulski of Worcester and John P. Mikulski of Millbury; a brother, Albie A. Mikulski of Dedham; four granddaughters, Ruth J. and Sarah D. Mikulski both of Worcester; and Amanda L. and Heather L. Mikulski both of Millbury; Another brother, John Mikulski of Dorchester died in 1987. He was born in Boston, son of Lorenz and Domicila (Rumaka) Mikulski and had lived in Millbury for 40 years.
Mr. Mikulski worked as a mason 25 years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Inc., 120 Thomas St., Worcester, 01608.
Theodore M. Hargen
Worcester - Theodore M. Hargen, 83, formerly of 6 Wachusett Street, died Thursday, June 7, in St. Mary Healthcare Center.
He leaves a brother, Mason R. Hargin in Puerto Rico; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Theo M. and Blanche I. (Merritt) Hargin, and lived here all his life.
Mr. Hargen was a salesman many years for wholesale clothing companies, before retiring.
He was a former member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
A graveside service will be held Monday, June 11, at 11 a.m. in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street. There are no calling hours. Dirsa - Kazlauskas Funeral Home, 51 Providence Street, is directing arrangements.
Brone ( Maksimavich) Svikla
Worcester - Brone ( Maksimavich) Svikla, 86, of 22 Carlstad Street died Wednesday, May 16, in her home after an illness.
Her husband Julius Svikla died in 1971. Mrs. Svikla is survived by two sons, Alius J Svikla of South Dennis Mass. and Vitas J Svikla of Worcester and a granddaughter Kristine Krakowski of Worcester.
Mrs. Svikla was born in Lithuania a daughter of Andrew and Eva Maksimavich, and was educated at Vilnius University. She worked as a Teacher in Lithuania and came to this country in 1949. She was the owner and operator of Cosmos Parcel Express for many years before retiring in 1973. After retiring she was a caterer for many years at Maironis Park in Shrewsbury.
She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Vilna Parish.
The funeral will be held tomorrow Saturday, May 19, from Dirsa - Kazlauskas Funeral Home, 51 Providence Street with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Vilna Church, 151 Sterling Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are from 7 to 9pm today Friday.

Blanche A (Brikas) Gabis
WORCESTER - Blanche A (Brikas) Gabis, 88, of 1050 Main Street, formerly of 67 Fourth Street, died Wednesday, May 9, in Providence Extended Care Center 119 Providence Street Worcester following an illness.
Mrs. Gabis is survived by a daughter Ruth A Varney of Worcester, seven grandchildren , eleven great grandchildren and a nephew. A brother Thomas Brikas of Worcerster died in 1962.
Mrs.Gabis was born in Worcester, a daughter of Anthony J and Anastasia V (Andruske) Brikas, and lived here all of her life. She was educated in Worcester Schools, and later worked as a Machine Operator for forty five years at the former Washburn Wire Company until her retirement in 1974.
She was a member of St. Casimir's Catholic Parish. A former member of The Lithuanian Social Club, and a Volunteer at Saint Vincent DePaul, for which she was honored. she enjoyed baking, and activity with her great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held today Friday, May 11, with a Mass at 10 am in Saint Casimir Church 41 Providence Street. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Dirsa - Kazlauskas Funeral Home, 51 Providence Street, is directing arrangements.
Richard I. Baron
NASHUA, Massachusetts; two brothers, Kenneth Baron of Worcester and Robert Baron of Sun City, New York; Barbara Collette of Rochdale, Massachusetts; Susan Goff in Virginia and Debra Mendoza of Worcester; three grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was born and raised in Worcester son of Joseph Baron and had lived in Nashua more than 30 years.
Mr. Baron was an air traffic controller in New Hampshire for the Federal Aviation Administration. He worked 27 years and retired in 1989.
He was a Navy veteran.
Mr. Baron graduated from Worcester Boy's Trade High School.
The funeral will be held on Thursday April 26 with a service at 11:30 a.m. in Dirsa - Kazlauskas Funeral Home, 51 Providence St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be held on Thursday April 26 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
Christine D. Kudron
WORCESTER - Christine D. (Kimbar) Kudron, 69, of Autumn Village Nursing Home, 25 Oriol Dr., died Thursday Dec. 30 in the nursing home.
She leaves her husband of many years, Raymon P. Kudron; three daughters, Donna M. Joppas of Worcester; Lisa A. Kierstead of Clinton and Janine V. Penny of Worcester; a brother, Henry J. Kimbar of Worcester; four sisters, Jane M. Kimbar and Sophie M. Kimbar both of Worcester; Mary T. Conway of North Weymouth and Sr. M. Audrey Kimbar, CSFN of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Tara, Amanda and David and two great - grandchildren, Allyson and Jackson and nephews and nieces. She was predececeased by a sister, Bertha Kimbar and seven brothers, Thomas, Chester, Joseph, Stanley, Charles, Edward and Jan Kimbar. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Alexander and Josephine I. (Sokolowski) Kimbar and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Kudron was a teacher for the City of Worcester and taught several years at Rice Square School and Dartmouth Street School and retired many years ago. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Worcester State Teacher’s College. Christine was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.
The funeral will be held on Monday January 3 from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10 : 30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday Jan. 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Mary E. Paika
WORCESTER - Mary E. (Culhane) Paika, 83, of 36 Shaffner St., died Friday August 15 in her home.
Her husband of 59 years, Francis J. Paika, Sr., died May 4, 2000.
She leaves two sons, Francis J. Paika, Jr., of Worcester and Michael J. Paika of Shrewsbury; a brother, Maurice Culhane of Worcester; one grandson and several nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph and Annie (Hines) Culhane and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Paika was an accounting clerk for many years working at Heald Machine, then for Rice Barton Co., and later Thom McAn Co., retiring in 1985. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Mrs. Paika was a longtime member of St. Bernards Church and many years ago was a cub scout den mother.
A private committal service will be held Tuesday August 19 in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St. There are no calling hours. Henry - Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St. is directing arrangements.
