Chouinard Services
NEW SALEM - A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, July 12, at St. Mary's Church in Orange, for Roger J. Chouinard, 79, formerly of Elm St., who died Monday, July 8, 2003, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
The Rev. Fr. William Lunney officiated. Janet Paoletti was the organist and Theresa Bergquist was the cantor. The gifts were brought forth by Maureen Burns and Edith Minch. The Readings were offered by Ernestine Booth.
Interment followed in North New Salem Cemetery. The pallbearers were Jesse Duff, Richard Viens, Jared Burns, Craig Pierce, Brian Booth and Erle Pierce. A reception was held in St. Mary's Parish Hall following the committial service.
Witty's Funeral Home directed the arrangements.
Nellie A. Young; Collector Of Antiques
ATHOL - Nellie A. (Muzzy) Young, 78, of 366 Exchange St., died Saturday, July 12, 2003, in Health Alliance, Leominster Hospital, Leominster, after a brief illness.
She was born in Athol on Aug. 13, 1924, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Gustlauskas) Muzzy and lived here all of her life. She was a 1942 graduate of Athol High School and along with her husband, was an enthusiastic collector and dealer of antiques.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley C. Young Sr., whom she wed Aug. 31, 1946; one son, Stanley C. Young Jr. of Alexandria, Va.; one daughter, Kathleen Destroismaisons of Athol, four grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, July 15, from J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 15.
Contributions may be made to the building fund of St. Francis of Assisi Church, 101 Main St., Athol, Mass. 01331.
Arrangements are under the direction of the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home.

FITCHBURG - Dorothy C. (Minahan) Keating, 93, formerly of 2 Girard Dr., died Thursday, July 10, 2003, in Hillcrest Nursing Home after a long illness.
Wetherby, Was wendell Selectman
NEW SALEM - Charles M. Wetherby, 80, of 36 North Main St., died Saturday, July 12, 2003 following an illness.
Born on April 27, 1923 in Wendell, he was a son of Pliny and Edith (Taylor) Wetherby and grew up there.
He enlisted in the United States Navy on April 26, 1943 serving on the USS Bataan during World War II as an Aviation Machinist Mate. He was in the Asiatic and South Pacific Theatres and was honorably discharged from the Navy on April 16, 1947.
Following his duty of service, he had worked at the Rodney Calif., a maker of periscopes, after 25 years after which he ran his own handyman business in the Concord area. In 1992, he returned to this area from Calif.; several nephews and nieces; and a companion of many years, Althea Gilmore of New Salem.
He was predeceased by brothers, George, Louie, Francis, Leon, Clarence, and Merrill as well as two sisters, Gladys Broulett and Dottie Compton.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 19, in South Cemetery, Orange, at 10 a.m.
There are no calling hours.

ORANGE - A Funeral Mass was held on Friday, July 11, 2003 at St. Mary's Church for Henry P. Doiron, 93, formerly of Orange, who died on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 in Worcester at the Worcester Skilled Nursing Home following an illness.
The Rev. Fr. David Doiron, nephew, officiated assisted by Deacon Joseph Bucci of St. Mary's Church. The organist wsa Janet Paoletti and cantor was Theresa Bergquist.
Interment followed in South Cemetery, Orange. The pallbearers were Steve Groves, Steve Higgins, Jerry Palsatt, Steve McNeil and Tom Doiron. A reception was held at St. Mary's Parish Hall following the committal service.

ORANGE - Members of American Legion Post 172 of Orange will conduct a prayer service at 6:30 this evening for Henry P. Doiron, 93, who died on July 8, 2003, at Witty's Funeral Home. Members of the Athol - Orange Elks Lodge No. 1837 will have a service at 7:30. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m.

ORANGE - Services were held on Thursday, July 10, at the First Universalist Church of Orange for Ruth E. (Shaw) Powers, 89, of 16 Carpenter St., who died on Thursday, July 3, 2003 at home surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness. The Rev. Ralph T. Clarke officiated. The organist was Donald "Spin" Ainsworth. Rememberances were offered by Rev. Clarke and Ruth's daughter, Janet Holden. Interment followed in South Cemetery. A reception was held in the church's Fellowship Hall following the committial service.

Robinson Services
ATHOL - A celebration of life for William A. Robinson, 78, 0f 160 Orange St., was held Thursday, July 10, in Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Clarke, the Rev. Dan Harper, and John Pastor of the First Church Unitarian, officiating.
Readings were done by several family members, and representing the Edward H. Phillips American Legion Post 102 were: Glenn Frenette, commander; Robert Carey, past commander; Alfred Souza, past Worcester County commander; and Victor Litchfield, past finance officer. The United States flag was presented to Mrs. Robinson by Carey.
