ATHOL - Zona (Blackbird) Wheeler, 76, of 831 Daniel Shays Highway, formerly of Bellevue Drive, died Thursday, November 27, 2003, at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.
She was born August 1, 1927 in Erving, N.H.; grandchildren, Michael James Woodard, Robert Alden Woodard, Shantee Alyssa Woodard, and Tyler Alexander Woodard; sisters, Betty Nault of Athol and Annette LaBreque of Holyoke; several nephews and nieces; and daughter in law, Tammy Woodard of Orange.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 3, in St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. The Rev. Fr. William Lunney will officiate.
Interment in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol, will be private.
Calling hours will be held at Witty's Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, Dec. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Maine, conducted the service.
Grave side services will be held Friday, Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. at Gethsemane Cemetery.
The J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

NEWPORT RICHEY, FLA. - John E. Osterberg, 94, of NewPort Richey, passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2003 at a hospice care center in Hudson, Fla.

ATHOL - Kimberly A. Marquis, 40 of 112 Beach St., Athol, MA, died Thursday, November 27, 2003, at home after being stricken ill.
She was born on September 26, 1963 in Athol, the daughter of Richard D. and Mary C. (Pedrazzi) Marquis. She resided in Athol her whole life and graduated from Athol High School with the class of 1981.
Ms. Marquis was employed as a Childcare professional for more than 22 years, most recently she worked at The Guild of St. Agnes in Gardner. She was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church. She was an avid Red Sox fan.
She leaves her parents Richard D. and Mary C. (Pedrazzi) Marquis, of Athol; two sisters: Karen J. Marquis and her partner Cindy A. Foster of Greenfield, Kelly M. Petrin and her husband Rodney J. of Sunapee, NH; one brother: Raymond W. Marquis of Athol; her maternal grandparents, William and Harriet Richardson of Orange; a nephew, Noah R. Foster - Marquis of Greenfield; two nieces, Hannah M. Foster - Marquis of Greenfield, Josette M. Petrin of Sunapee, NH; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother, Richard D. Marquis who died in 1991.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol. Following cremation burial will be on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 11 a.m. in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 30, 2003, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main Street, Athol.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Our Lady Immaculate Church - Building Fund 192 School St., Athol, MA 01331.
Avis L. Hebert
GILBERTVILLE - Avis L. Hebert, 81, of Main Street died Friday in West Brookfield.
She was the wife of James Hebert.
Besides her husband, she leaves her children, Gary Hebert of Keene TX and Susan Dennis of Wheelwright; two brothers Ivar Lawson Jr. in N.H., 10 grandchildren and five great - grandchildren.
She was born in Orange and lived in Gilbertville since 1972. She was a devoted member of Pilgrim Baptist Church of North Brookfield.
Funeral services will be Monday at 6 p.m. at the Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., Ware. Calling hours will be held on Monday following the service until 8 p.m.

Alphonse F. Quader
ATHOL - Funeral services for Alphonse F. Quader, 80, of 287 Intervale Ave., who died Nov. 23, 2003 at the Athol Memorial Hospital, were held Wednesday, Nov. 26. Father Stephen Johnson, pastor of the Our Lady Immaculate Church, celebrated the funeral Mass with Father Urbain Gionet. Jason Quader, a grandson, delivered a reading.
Burial followed at Gethsemane Cemetery. The bearers were: Wilfred Richards, Enrico Caranfa, Neil Hachey, Patrick Deyo, Fernand Blanchard, Michael Blanchard, Guy L'Heureux.
Officers of the United States Navy presented the American flag to his wife, Suzanne Quader.
