ATHOL - Funeral services for Vera M. Johnston, 92, of 821 Daniel Shays Hwy., were held Friday, Nov. 21, in Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fr. William Hobbs, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial followed in Silver Lake Cemetery and the bearers were Edward Cole, Scott McKay, Peter Hough, Ronald Fournier, Kevin Kaczmarczyk and Tom O'Connor.

ATHOL - Edward D. Corey, 85, of Skaneateles, N.Y.
Born in Athol, he moved to Skaneateles in the 1940s and married the former Mary Gage, his wife of 58 years. He retired from General Electric of Syracuse, N.Y.; two sons, James Corey of Marcellus, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Burial was held at the Lakeview Cemetery in Skaneateles. Contributions in his name may be made to charities involved in stroke research.
Lena M. Natale

ATHOL - Lena M. (Calvi) Natale, 92, formerly of Bridge Street, Baldwinville, died Tuesday evening, Nov. 18, 2003 in the Leo P. LaChance Center in New York State Hospital for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Church in Baldwinvlle.
Her husband, James Natale, died several years ago.
She is survived by one daughter, Norma T. Cutting of Townsend, Tenn.;two sisters, Norma Mattala of Athol and Mayme Marsico of Florida and enjoyed gardening.
Her husband of many years, George W. Johnston, died in 1993.
She leaves a daughter, Linda Cole of Athol; a step - daughter, Janet Pete of San Diego, North Carolina; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and a special friend, Cindy Barnes of Athol.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m. in the East Street Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Quabbin Valley Healthcare - Alzheimer's Unit 821 Daniel Shays Hwy., Athol, MA 01331.

Pauline G. Bishop
Former Secretary
ATHOL - Pauline G. (Serre) Bishop, 91, of 3385 South Athol Rd., died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003 in the Quabbin Valley Healthcare.
Born in Athol, she was the daughter of the late Ozias O. and the late Florence K. (Collins) Serre. She grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School with the class of 1930.
She graduated from Boston University.
Mrs. Bishop was a secretary at the Webster Sole Company for eight years. She also worked at the First National Bank for several years.
She was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church. She enjoyed gardening.
She leaves several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Athol Memorial Hospital 2033 Main St., Athol, MA 01331.
