Mr. Elmo V. Jamison, of Walkersville, is registered at the City-Hotel.
Miss Ada Nelson, West Third street, is visiting her sister, Mrs. Hoats, Allentown, Pa.
Mr. D. V. Stauffer. of this city, is spending the day in Washington on business.
Mr. William M. Douglass, of the Park Hotel, is spending the day in Baltimore on business.
Mr. Alexander Woodward, of this city, is visiting friends and relatives in Cumberland.
Miss Augusta Gheo, of Union Bridge, is visiting Mrs. Rinehart, at the Maryland School.
Miss Lillie Gilbert, West Patrick street, spent yesterday with friends in Adamstown.
Miss Alice Cramer has returned from a visit to her sister, Mrs. Fannie Stine, at Middletown.
Mr. Luther C. Derr has removed his residence from West Patrick to East Patrick street.
Mr. Jacob S. Baer, of Salem, Va., is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Tyson, East Church street.
Mrs. Roger A. Doll, East Second street, who has been visiting in Littlestown, Pa., has returned.
Mr. Edward Hendrickson, of Nashville, Tenn., vrho has been visiting relatives at Urbana, has returned.
Miss Goldy Poffinberger, of Myersville, who had been spending a few days with relatives in Frederick, has returned.
Mr. Thomas Kemp, of Calfornia, formerly of Frederick, is spending a few days with relatives and and friends in this city.
Miss Maria Duvall, of Baltimore, who has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. A. C. McCardell, North Market street, has returned.
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Sponseller, South Market street, are spending a few days with friends in Harpers Ferry, W. Va.
Principal Ely, of the Maryland School, has returned from a visit, in company with Mrs. Ely, to Old Point, Va., Richmond and Washington.
Mr. D. J. Wachtel and son, H. S. Wachtel, masons, of Myersvilie, have gone to Covington, Va., where they will be employed for about four months.
Mr. Alexander Woodward, of this city, is visiting his daughter, Mrs. Ida Haas, Mt. Savage. Md. His son-in-law, Mr. Haas, is at present extremely ill.
Messrs. George Young and George Kussmaul, of Washington, who have been in this city attending the funeral of Mrs. Alice Schroen, have returned home.
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hoxley, of Altoona, Pa., who formerly resided near Broad Run, this county, are on a visit of a few weeks to friends and relatives at Middletown, after a long absence.
Mrs. James B. Fisher and children, of Martinsbnrg, W. Va., and Mrs. Gertrude Coblentz, wife of Rev. Elmer L. Coblentz, of Ridgely, Caroline county, are on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. I. J. Toms, Middletown.
Mr. Joshua Beckwith, one of Middletown's most estimable citizens, passed his 52d birthday last Sunday. His sister, Mrs. Lizzie Keller, is about 86 years old. Mr. Beckwith has been quite feeble for some time, and is a great sufferer from rheumatism. Mrs. Keller has been quite sick for some weeks.
