Todd, Margaret B.
Margaret B. Todd passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 18, 2004. She was the beloved wife of the late Seth Herman Todd, and the mother of Marilyn T. Hagans and Margaret “Margie” T. Mock. Her parents, John Albert and Ethyl May Gump Boyce and her brother, Creston Franklin Boyce, preceded her in death. She was grandmother of Mark David and Jonathan Todd Hagans, Darren Todd and Brian Tait Mock, and great-grandmother of Connor David, Ethan Todd and Carsyn Kaylene Hagans, and John Todd and Greta Gossey Mock. Many nieces and nephews also survive her. A memorial service was held at Emmanuel
United Methodist Church, 11416 Cedar Lane, Beltsville on Saturday, August 28, at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church Fund.
Hurt, Ruth M. (Age 80)
Ruth M. Hurt passed away on October 22, 2004 at Laurel Regional Hospital. Mrs. Hurt was born in Louisa, VA and lived in Beltsville from 1983-2003. She was the wife of the late George W. Hurt, Sr.; loving mother of George, Jr. and Bobby Hurt, Ruth Ann Fleshman, Jane Schildt and Ronnie Hurt; and sister of John, Benny, Lee and Lucille. Also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family received friends at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A. on Tuesday, October 26 where the funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 27 at 11:00 a.m. Interment was at Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Paul E. Reising passed away on Monday, November 8, 2004. He was the beloved husband of Frances L. Cora (Spiers) Curtice, 97, of Beltsville, Maryland,
the beloved widow of Charles W. Curtice, died Friday, December 10, 2004 at Manchester Memorial Hospital in Manchester, Connecticut. She was born and raised in McNeil, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Thomas R. and Sara Ellen (Mitchell) Spiers. Cora was a resident of Beltsville for over 60 years where she was an active member of the Beltsville Baptist Church and a past president
of the Women's Benevolent Association. She was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service. Her two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter C. and Ann R. Curtice of Gwinn, Michigan and Aaron S. and Regina T. Curtice of Manchester, Connecticut, six grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren, her sister Joda Russell of Texas, her special niece Margaret
Midkiff of Fairfax, Virginia, numerous nieces and nephews, and many special friends survive her. Funeral service was held at Picayune Funeral Home in Picayune, Mississippi.

Frances Alberta “Frankie” Hunter, 79, of Beltsville died December 5, 2004 at Laurel Regional Hospital. Frankie was born on November 22, 1925 in Virginia. She worked as an administrative secretary
for the University of Maryland. Her daughters, Karen and Kathy Hunter, son Kevin Hunter, sisters Jessie Marcus, Thelma Primm, Opal Phelps, and Rachel Rogers, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren survive her.Frankie was a member of Beltsville's Emmanuel United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir for many years. She volunteered at the Beltsville Academic Center, and was also a stalwart member of the Beltsville
News staff. For the last few years, she co-authored the column, “25 Years Ago in the Beltsville News.” She will be sorely missed by her many friends in the community of Beltsville.
