Wayne S. Abbott
Funeral services for Wayne S. Abbott, 49, his wife Emily, 46, and their sons, Brian, 9 and Douglas, 5, all of Freeland in Baltimore County, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Valley Presbyterian Church in Lutherville.
The Abbott family died Feb. 17, 2002 from injuries received in an automobile accident on Route 1 near Dover, Del.
Mr. Abbott is the brother of Cynthia Abbott Busch, wife of Del. Michael Busch, D-Annapolis.
Born in Baltimore, he graduated from Towson High School in 1970, and from the University of Maryland with a degree in entomology.
He worked for the Baltimore Department of Public Works as a pollution control analyst. Previously he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Beltsville.
He served for 21 years in the Maryland National Guard and held the rank of master sergeant. He was an Eagle Scout and an elder in Valley Presbyterian Church.
A trumpet player, he played in church bands and swing dance bands. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
In addition to Mrs. Busch, Mr. Abbott is survived by a daughter, Margaret Emily Abbott; four brothers, Douglas and Bruce Abbott of Harford County, Glenn Abbott of Lutherville and Robert Abbott of Perry Hall; a sister, Stephanie Brandt of Baltimore; and his mother, Margaret Burkins Abbott of Lutherville.
He was the son of the late Army Lt. Col. Harvey Fenton Abbott.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Road, Towson. Burial will be in Dulaney Valley Cemetery.

Donald Cager
Donald Alphonzo Cager, 52, of Severna Park, died Feb. 19, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. The cause of death was not available.
Mr. Cager, also known as "Donnie" and "Little Jeep, " was born June 15, 1949, in Baltimore. He was a 1967 graduate of Severna Park High School, where he was a star athlete.
He served in the Army from 1969 to 1972 with tours in Vietnam and Indonesia. He received the Bronze Star and the Good Conduct, Vietnam Service, Vietnam Campaign and National Defense Service medals.
He was a supervisor at the Department of Natural Resources' Office of Licensing and Regulations, where he worked for 20 years.
Mr. Cager was a lifelong member of Asbury Town Neck United Methodist Church, where he belonged to the Johnson Male Chorus. He also belonged to the Thomas Gospel Choir, the Ushers and the Willing Workers, and was an instructor in the Disciple III Bible study.
He was a member of the NAACP and a graduate and sponsor of Alcoholics Anonymous. His interests included singing, fishing, playing cards, softball, bowling, flea markets and travel.
In 1971 he was married
to Linda Cager of Laurel. They were divorced in 1988.
He was the son of the late Eugene Cager.
Surviving are two daughters, Dawnielle Cager of Glen Burnie and Kellie Cager of Laurel; two granddaughters; and his mother, Dorothy White-Cager, and grandmother, Lille Mae White, both of Severna Park.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow at Asbury Town Neck United Methodist Church, 429 Asbury Drive, Severna Park, followed by a Christian wake at 11 a.m. and the funeral at 11:30, with burial in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Reese and Sons Mortuary.
Jewell Carl
Cornelia Jewell Carl, 79, died Feb. 20, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center of complications from cancer. A former registered and public health nurse, she lived in Hillsmere Shores in Annapolis for more than 45 years.
Mrs. Carl was born on July 12, 1922, in Big Stone Gap, Va., and graduated from Capital City Nursing School in Washington.
She married
Henry Carl on Dec. 6, 1947.
As a nurse she went out of her way to be available to relatives, friends and neighbors to help with their medical, physical or emotional needs, her family said.
A member of Heritage Baptist Church, she also was one of the founding sponsors of the Annapolis Baptist Student Union Alumni Association.
She was known as a hostess and for her cooking, especially her crab cakes. She and her husband sponsored several Naval Academy midshipmen.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Carl is survived by four children, Susan Kitchin of Crofton, Keith Carl of Virginia Beach, Va., Stephen Carl of Crownsville and David Carl of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; and two sisters, Peggy Beaman of Atlanta and Fetna Renfro of Knoxville, Tenn.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Heritage Baptist Church, 1740 Forest Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Annapolis Baptist Student Union Alumni Association, P.O. Box 242, Annapolis, MD 21404.
Hung Nguyen
Hung T. Nguyen, 64, of Annapolis, died of a brain tumor Feb. 20, 2002 at Catonsville Common Nursing after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Nguyen was born in Hanoi, Vietnam, on July 10, 1937. He was a retired captain in the Vietnamese army.
Mr. Nguyen received his doctorate in lecture from Saigon University and taught high school in Saigon. He received a national award in lecture in the early 1960s.
Mr. Nguyen enjoyed writing poetry and wrote a hit song in the 1960s, "Lau Dai Tinh Ai, " under the pen name Mai Chund Tinh.
Surviving are his wife, Theo Vu Nguyen of Catonsville; two sons, Khanh Nguyen and Khoa Nguyen of Catonsville; two brothers, Tri Nguyen of Ephrata, Pa., and Tuong Nguyen of Ho Chi Minh City; and a sister, Phuong Nguyen of Paris.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 2 p.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 30 Melvin Ave., Catonsville. Burial will be private.
Rose Walton
Rose E. Walton, 83, of Owings, formerly of Lothian, died Feb. 20, 2002 at her home of cancer.
Mrs. Walton was born July 21, 1918, and raised in Washington, D.C., where she graduated from Eastern High School. She then worked for the former Garfinckel's department store in Washington.
She was a career federal employee, including work as a secretary in the Surgeon General's Office. She received the Meritorious Civilian Service Award from the Department of the Army.
After her marriage in 1948 to Joseph Dudley Walton Sr., she lived in Bristol, now part of Lothian, until retiring to Dowell in southern Calvert County. The couple worked a tobacco farm in Bristol for 15 years.
She enjoyed raising flowers, collecting antiques and travel. Mrs. Walton made several trips to Hawaii with her husband and grandson.
Mr. Walton died in March 2001. Their son, Joseph D. Walton Jr., died in 1994.
Surviving is a grandson, Joseph W. Fox of Chesapeake Beach, whom she helped to raise.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mount Harmony Lane, Owings, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Southern cemetery in Dunkirk.
