Janice Lallande
Services for Janice Belle Hoover Lallande, 85, of Catonsville and formerly of Severna Park, were held March 22, 2002 at the Charlestown Retirement Community chapel in Catons-ville.
Mrs. Lallande died March 17 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore from complications following a cerebral aneurysm.
The daughter of the late Ellis Guy and Mary Cornelia Hartle Hoover, she was born and raised in Hagerstown and graduated from Hood College in Frederick in 1939 with a bachelor of arts degree in history. She then taught school in Hancock in Washington County.
In 1940 she went to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to visit relatives and met and married
Joseph Gustave Lallande Jr. of Guaynabo in May 1941. The couple lived in Puerto Rico until 1979 when they came to Severna Park. They moved to the retirement community 12 years ago.
Devoted to her family, Mrs. Lallande also took an active interest in gardening, especially in raising orchids. She was a member of local garden clubs in Puerto Rico.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Joseph G. Lallande III of Fort Fairfield, Maine, Mary Claudel Kendrick of Bedford, N.Y., and Ann Lallande Giffen of Annapolis; and six grandchildren.
Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery in Hagerstown in May. Arrangements were by Witzke Funeral Home in Catonsville.

Beatrice Britton
Beatrice Vlna "Bea" Britton, 84, of Annapolis, died April 17, 2002 at her home in Eastport where she had lived since 1921.
She and her husband, Alfred W. "Dutch" Britton Sr., were the founders of the Dutch Britton Fire Extinguisher Co. The couple was married
in 1935. Mr. Britton died in March 1987.
Mrs. Britton was born April 18, 1917, in Baltimore, and graduated in 1935 from Annapolis High School.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Annapolis Elks Lodge and was secretary and treasurer of Rescue Hose Company 11. Her interests included gardening, cooking and family gatherings.
Surviving are one son, Alfred W. "Butch" Britton Jr. of Annapolis; four daughters, Barbara Britton Baxter and Denna Britton of Annapolis, Frances "Bitsy" Furr of Columbia and Lauri Donovan of Arnold; one brother, Vincent Vlna, and one sister, Amelia Vlna Meade, both of Annapolis; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was the daughter of the late Vincent and Bessie Vlna.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. tomorrow at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., where services will be at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Michael Lee
Michael "Mike" Lee, 42, of Hagerstown, died April 13, 2002 at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown of complications of diabetes.
Born Jan. 27, 1960, in Annapolis, Mr. Lee lived in this city until moving to Hagerstown four years ago. He attended Anne Arundel County public schools.
He was a cook at numerous restaurants in the area.
He enjoyed playing football.
Survivors include his mother, Mildred Lee; one brother, Dennis E. Lee; and one sister, Wanda Kay Lee, all of Annapolis.
A Christian wake will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Reese and Sons Mortuary, 821 West St., Annapolis, followed by funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Annapolis Memorial Gardens.
Robert Reynolds Jr.
Robert Omar Reynolds Jr., 83, of Arnold and formerly of Eastport, died of cancer April 16, 2002 at the Chesapeake Hospice House in Linthicum.
Known as "Pop" and "Poppy, " Mr. Reynolds was born July 26, 1918, in Baltimore, son of the late Robert Omar and Rita K. Reynolds. He attended the old Annapolis High School, and from 1942 to 1983 served in the Navy as a radioman 1st class, handling electronics materials. He served in the Pacific and in Asia, Alaska, Africa and Europe.
Among his awards and decorations were the World War II Victory and Good Conduct medals and the America, Asia-Pacific and Europe-Africa-Middle East theater ribbons.
Active in the Masons, Mr. Reynolds was a past master of Annapolis Lodge 89, past high priest of Mount Vernon Chapter 25 of the Royal Arch Masons and a member of Harmony Council 20, Palestine Commandery 7, Maryland York Rite College 58, Chesapeake Bay Council 278, Maryland Council 9 and the Knight Masons Past Commanders Association of Maryland.
Mr. Reynolds was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 46 and Ben Hadad Temple 93, knight and past chancellor of Friendship Lodge 8, a royal prince-khorassan of the Dramatic Order Knights and a past grand of the Odd Fellows.
He received various honors including the Meritorious Bronze Award from the Royal Arch Masons, the Knight Templar Cross of Honor and the Knight York Cross of Honor.
He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Club of Annapolis and the American Legion.
His interests included playing the guitar, big band and country-western music, horse racing, football and the Baltimore Orioles.
Surviving are one son, Robert Omar Reynolds III of West Virginia; one brother, Donald C. Reynolds of New York; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was the father of the late Dorothy Ann Evans and the brother of the late William "Hap" Reynolds and Virginia Reynolds.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, Pleasant Plains and St. Margarets roads. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans cemetery in Crownsville

Mary Russillo
Mary Catherine Russillo, 86, a resident of Annapolis for 20 years and previously of Jersey City, N.J., died of congestive heart failure April 16, 2002 at home.
Miss Russillo was born Aug. 31, 1915, in Jersey City where she attended school and later worked as a seamstress at a toy factory.
She attended daily Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church, was instrumental in starting the Father Gobbi Cenacle at the Naval Academy and was a devoted adorer in the Perpetual Adoration Chapel at St. Mary's.
At one time she belonged to the Choral Society in Norwich, Conn.
Surviving are one brother, Dr. Phillip Russillo of Jersey City; two sisters, Connie Capuano of Upper Marlboro and Carole Duley of Annapolis; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Vincent Russillo.
A memorial gathering will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St. A memorial Mass will be offered at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester St. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Richard Bremer
Retired Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Richard K. Bremer, 77, of Severna Park, died of cancer April 25, 2002 at his daughter's home in Stevensville after a six-month illness.
Chief Bremer was born March 30, 1925, and raised in Lyndon, Kan, and had lived in California, Guam, Key West and Norfolk, Va., during his military career.
He retired from the Postal Service as a postal worker and clerk and then worked for 10 years at Ace Hardware.
He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed gardening, reading and sports.
On Aug. 27, 1950, he married
Dorothy M. Weise who died in 1987.
Surviving are his daughter, Maureen Acosta of Stevensville; one brother, Leo Bremer of Kansas; and two grandchildren. He was the brother of the late George Bremer.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans cemetery in Crownsville.
