Wayne Fridley Jr.
Wayne B. Fridley Jr., 51, a resident of Crofton since 1983, died April 24, 2002 while taking a golf trip in Ireland. The cause of death was not available.
Mr. Fridley was born in Seneca Falls, N.Y., June 25, 1950.
He was formerly a mortgage banker with B.F. Saul for 17 years and owned Fridley and Associates Mortgage in Annapolis since 1999.
He was a member of the National Association of Mortgate Brokers and the Maryland Association of Mortgage Brokers and president of the Seton Woods Community Association.
He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing, especially in Canada, and was a cigar aficianado.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Mary C. Fridley; two sons, Erik W. and Patrick A. Fridley of West River; his daughter, Angela C. Shellem of Cape St. Claire; and three sisters, Kathleen Tompkins of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Diane Turano of Arvada, Colo., and Cynthia McGibbon of Highland, Calif.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1800 Seton Drive, in Crofton. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Hardesty Funeral Home in Gambrills.

Mary Hamilton
Mary Anna "Miss Sis" Hamilton, 93, of Annapolis, died April 22, 2002 at the Spa Creek Center, Genesis Eldercare Network.
Miss Hamilton was born Jan. 3, 1909, in Annapolis, and attended St. Mary's Catholic School and county public schools in Annapolis.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Surviving are several cousins.
A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Miller's Metropolitan Chapel, 1922 Forest Drive.
Sylvianne Jackson
Services for Sylvianne Frances Jackson, 67, of Bowie, were held April 12, 2002 at Greater Mount Nebo AME Church in Upper Marlboro. Burial was in Arlington National cemetery on April 24.
Also known as "Raggs" and "Big Granma, " Mrs. Jackson died of a brain tumor April 7 at Prince George's Community Hospital in Cheverly after a lengthy illness.
She was born March 16, 1935, in Washington, D.C., and worked at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and at Andrew Air Force Base.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of Great Mount Nebo AME Church and enjoyed pottery, bingo and travel.
In 1953 she married
Frederick L. Jackson Sr. who died in 1967.
Surviving are one son, Frederick L. Jackson of Severna Park; four daughters, Shearon Jackson of Bowie, Raynell Jackson of Greenbelt, Denease Jackson of Capitol Heights and Karren Jackson of Washington; her mother, Thelma Cherry of Atlanta; three brothers, Ralph Steney of Washington and James and Forrest Cherry of Atlanta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Hunt Funeral Home in Washington.
John Perry
John W. Perry, 57, of Goldsboro, died April 24, 2002 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Perry was born Oct. 12, 1944, in Annapolis, the son of the late Dorothy S. and Oliver W. Perry. From a young age he was raised by his late aunt and uncle, Harriet and Roland Hardesty, in Tracy's Landing. After graduating from Southern High School in 1963, he was a self-employed truck driver. In recent years he hauled for Patuxent Materials Inc. in Crofton.
His interests included traveling, camping, street rodding and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Ann B. Perry; one daughter, Stacie L. Perry of Goldsboro; and two sons, John Brett and Mark A. Perry, both of Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 tonight at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 Sunset Ave., Greensboro, where services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery.

Lorraine Redpath
Lorraine Milmoe Redpath, 63, of Chester, died of natural causes April 25, 2002 at her home.
Born Aug. 7, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Redpath graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland with a bachelor of arts degree and received her law degree from the George Mason School of Law.
She was a senior account specialist with First Union Securities since 1994.
Previously she resided in Riva and Potomac.
Surviving are her husband, Robert J. Redpath, whom she marred Jan. 25, 1964; one son, Robert Brandon Redpath of Silver Spring; two daughters, Lorraine Redpath McQueen of Richmond, Va., and Allyson Redpath Mawe of New York, N.Y.; one sister, Dorthea Milmoe Keener-Shirley of Long Island, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. tomorrow and from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St. A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road. Burial will be private.

Sherry Sweeney
Sherry O. Sweeney, 53, of Edgewater and previously of Damascus, died April 24, 2002 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center of complications related to the treatment of cancer after a brief illness.
Mrs. Sweeney was born Aug. 22, 1948, in Washington, D.C., and received her undergraduate degree in chemistry and her master's degree in science education from Radford University.
For the past 14 years she was employed by American Airlines in the office of government affairs.
She was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church and enjoyed traveling, cooking and entertaining.
Surviving are her husband, Richard B. Sweeney, whom she married
in July 1972; two sons, John Charles " Chas" Sweeney of Panama City, Fla., and Richard Sweeney of Edgewater; one daughter, Jennifer Sweeney-Marburg of Silver Spring; her mother, Margaret Owen of Chevy Chase; and two brothers, John Randall Owen of Olney and Britt Owen of Edgewater.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Church Circle. Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater is handling arrangements.

Stewart Elben
Stewart E. Elben, 89, of Lothian, died of a heart attack April 30, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mr. Elben was born April 27, 1913, in Cordova in Talbot County on the Eastern Shore and was raised and educated in the Croom and Drury areas, now Lothian.
He entered the Army in 1944 and served as a heavy ordinance maintenance technician in the Asiatic and Pacific theaters. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Philippine Liberation ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1946 and married
the former Florence E. Hayes that same year. They raised their family in Forestville from 1947 to 1987, when they moved to Lothian.
Mr. Elben was a carpenter and self-employed building contractor. He operated several companies in the Washington, D.C., area, including the former Hash and Elben Construction Co.
He was a charter member of the Suitland Moose Lodge and a member of the American Legion Post in District Heights. He enjoyed carpentry and vegetable gardening.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Delores Ward of Lothian, from a prior marriage, Charlene L. Kessler and Elaine Pearl of Lothian and Sheri L. Colie of Shady Side; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mount Harmony Lane in Owings, where services will be at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetry in Cheltenham.
