Rufus Tucker
Rufus A. Tucker, 57, of Forestville died from complications of diabetes May 12, 2002 at Knollwood Manor Nursing Home in Millersville after a lengthy illness.
Known as "Beady" and "Butch, " Mr. Tucker was born Dec. 11, 1944, in Washington, D.C., and educated in Bristol. He had lived in Lothian until his move to Forestville about 13 years ago.
Mr. Tucker was employed at the race track at Upper Marlboro. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, and dancing.
He is survived by two sons, Alonzo K. Douglas of Capitol Heights and Glenn M. Allen of Washington; his mother, Hilda Franklin of Suitland; three brothers, Norman Tucker of Upper Marlboro, Glenn Tucker of Florida and Douglas Tucker of Baltimore; four sisters, Hilda Johnson of Capitol Heights and Gloria Tucker, Alice Carroll and Thelma Douglas, all of Suitland; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Sewell Funeral Home, 1451 Dares Beach Road, Prince Frederick, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Moses cemetery in Drury.
Victor DiPietro
Victor DiPietro, 77, of Greenwood, Del. and previously of Edgewater, died May 10, 2002 at home, of cancer, after a lengthy illness.
He was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Washington, D.C., and graduated from high school there.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and then went to work as a pipefitter for the Washington Terminal Company in Washington, D.C. He retired in 1985 with 43 years of service.
He was a member of the American Legion in Harrington, Del., and he enjoyed horse races, playing horseshoes and golf.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Lucille L. DiPietro, of Greenwood, Del.; five daughters, Sandra DiPietro of Shady Side, Susan Dunbar of Ocean City, Vickie Dove and Lynna Baker, both of Edgewater and Gina DiPietro of Greenwood, Del.; two brothers, Enrico DiPietro of Annapolis and Nicholas DiPietro of Edgewater; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, will immediately follow the service.

Paul Schucker
Paul F. Schucker, Jr., 75, of Heritage Harbour, and previously Wilton, Conn., died May 11, 2002 at home, of cancer.
Mr. Schucker was born April 12, 1927 in New York, N.Y. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh with a degree in metallurgical engineering.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a SC/3C. For many years, he worked at the Bridgeport Brass Company as the vice president of manufacturing, and he retired in 1983.
He was active in the local government in Wilton, Conn., and served for seven years as second selectman. He was also active in the Wilton Congregational Church where he served as deacon, trustee, church treasurer and was also chairman of the United Fund. He was a member of the Annapolis Civitan, the Annapolis Salvation Army and Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his civic interests, his hobbies included golf.
He is preceded in death by one son, Paul H. Schucker; one daughter, Patricia A. Schucker; and one brother, Robert M. Schucker.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Joan H. Schucker of Annapolis; one son, R. Bruce Schucker of Lafayette, Ind.; one daughter, Nancy S.Recchia of Chevy Chase; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park, and at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wilton Congregational Church in Wilton, Conn. Internment will be at Hillside cemetery in Wilton, Conn. at a later date.

Ernest Sisk
Ernest Marshall Sisk, 69, of Greensboro and previously Crofton and Cumberland, died May 9, 2002, at his home. The cause of death was not available.
Mr. Sisk was born Sept. 23, 1932, the youngest son of the late Orris C. and Violet Haines Sisk.
Following graduation from Allegheny High School in Cumberland, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as an Air Traffic Controller. After leaving the Navy, he graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park and received his training and certification in Physical Therapy at the University of Maryland Medical School in Baltimore.
Early in his career he worked as a physical therapist at the county health departments in Prince Georges, Charles and Calvert counties. Following a partnership with Burch, Rhoades and Loomis Physical Therapy Association in Anne Arundel County, he was appointed as chief physical therapist at Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Frederick. Later, he accepted the position of chief physical therapist at King Fahed Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, before returning and going into private practice.
He was a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the University of Maryland Alumni Association, the Greensboro Civic Association and the Christ Episcopal Church of Denton.
He enjoyed nature and art, reaching out to others and was dedicated to improving the lives of disabled children and adults. His greatest joy was his relationship with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Bellann Donn Plumer Sisk, of Greensboro; one daughter, Jennifer Sisk of Marshall; one son, Tod Spencer Sisk of Chester; three stepsons, David Plumer of Stevensonville, Michael Plumer of Greensboro and Keith Plumer of Glen Burnie; one brother, Vernon Sisk of Cumberland; one former spouse, Margaret J. Sisk; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Christ Episcopal Church, 105 Gay St., Denton. Internment will be private.

James Woods Jr.
Services for James Theodore Woods Jr., 65, of Concord, N.C., were held this afternoon at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord.
Mr. Woods died May 15, 2002 at North East Medical Center in Concord. The cause of death was not available.
He was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Baltimore, and was an automobile mechanic for Overcash Grading in Concord.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Lee Woods of Concord; two sons, Donald Woods of Monroe, N.C., and Kirk Woods of Tampa, Fla.; four daughters, Valerie and Geneva Woods of Charlotte, N.C., Delicia Vankirk of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Anita Britt of Albemarle, N.C.; his mother, Mildred Andrews Miles Woods of Severn; four brothers, Clarence and Douglas Woods of Severn, Lane Woods of Millersville and Charles Woods of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Dixie Alder of Severn and Linda Gonzalas and Betty Mallucci of Glen Burnie; and several grandchildren.
Burial was private.
Charles Burke Jr.
Charles H. Burke Jr., 64, of Waldorf, died May 13, 2002 at the home of his daughter, Teresa Jackson of Shady Side. He had been ill with heart disease and colon cancer.
Mr. Burke was born in Washington, D.C., raised in the Washington area, and attended school in Suit-land. He served in the Army during the mid 1950s.
As a self-employed flooring contractor, he lived in Deale until 1983 when he moved to Waldorf. He later lived in Nanjemoy in Charles County and Lusby.
Mr. Burke enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to Mrs. Jackson, he is survived by two other daughters, Donna Lynn Schaeffer of Shady Side and Pamela Denise Brown of Dunkirk; one son, Matthew S. Burke of Deale; three sisters, Delores Bowen of St. Leonard in Calvert County, Barbara Campbell of Titusville, Pa., and Lorraine Burke of Reading, Pa.; two brothers, Ronnie Burke of Ellicott City and Warren Burke of Baltimore; 22 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two children he raised, Lisa Crouse and Tammy Padgett, both of Waldorf.
His marriage to Margaret Denton ended in divorce. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy McKenny.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mt. Harmony Lane, Owings, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday . Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf.
