Jennie Brogdon
Jennie Lou Brogdon, 69, a resident of Heritage Harbour for five years and previously of Rockville, died of cancer June 1, 2002 at the Chesapeake Hospice House in Linthicum after a long illness.
Miss Brogdon was born March 12, 1933, in Washington, D.C., and graduated in 1951 from Hyattsville High School. She received her bachelor's degree in home economics in 1955 and later a master's degree in library science, both from the University of Maryland.
She was a home economist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and later a librarian with the USDA's National Agricultural Library in Beltsville before retiring in 1988.
Her interests included miniatures, gardening and travel.
Surviving are her mother, Norma R. Carpenter of Davidsonville; one brother, Jarrott Brogdon of Washington, Pa.; one sister, Linda Sands of Davidsonville; one stepbrother, Paul Carpenter of Summerville, S.C.; and one stepsister, Jo Anne Judkins of Beltsville.
A memorial service will be held at noon Friday at Davidsonville United Methodist Church, 819 Central Ave., Davidsonville. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater.

Elizabeth Cimino
Elizabeth Carole "Betty" Cimino, 80, a 22-year resident of Annapolis, died from complications of Alzheimer's disease on June 1, 2002 at Regency Park Assisted Living in Gambrills after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Cimino was born Dec. 24, 1921, in Hoxie, Kan., the second of 10 children born to the late Harry and Hilda Bell. After graduating in 1938 from Sheridan Community High School, she moved to Denver, Colo. On Aug. 29, 1946, she was married
to Anthony Paul "Tony" Cimino.
She spent the next several decades setting up households on various Air Force bases both in the United States and abroad as an Air Force officer's wife.
She volunteered as a Gray Lady at various Air Force hospitals and was president of the PTA at her children's schools. She also played bridge and enjoyed writing short jingles for nationwide contests in which she won numerous prizes, including a 1955 Oldsmobile.
She attended college in both Oklahoma and Texas and in 1971 graduated with highest honors from Southwest Texas State University with a degree in business administration.
Mrs. Cimino also worked 20 years for the federal government as a personnel specialist for the Department of the Army at the Pentagon, Fort Belvoir, Va., and Fort Meade.
She and her husband, a retired Air Force colonel, moved to Heritage Harbour in 1980 and after retiring in the early 1980s, she became active in various interests.
She excelled in bridge, winning the national championship in duplicate bridge while living in Oklahoma and for many years she taught duplicate bridge classes as well as regular bridge for beginners to advanced players.
The family also maintained a home in Bethany Beach, Del.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Cimino is survived by one son, Stephen Cimino of Crofton; her daughters, Toni Michelson of Arnold, Linda Goossen of Mingo, Kan., and Lana Hessenius of Denver; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three siblings.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A remembrance service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park. Burial will be private.

Jeffrey Davis
Jeffrey Alan Davis, 38, died suddenly June 1, 2002 at his home in Churchton. The cause of death was not available.
Born Aug. 6, 1963 in Washington, D.C., Mr. Davis was a resident of Churchton since his marriage to Felicia Marie Davis 17 years ago.
He was employed as a truckdriver with Lindenmeyer Munroe Paper Co. in Jessup.
He enjoyed cars and computers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Alexander and Zachary Davis of the home; his parents, John E. and Dorothy Davis; one brother, Kenny Davis; and one sister, Karen Edwards, all of Davidsonville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hardesty Funeral Home, 905 Galesville Road, Galesville, with funeral services immediately following. Burial will be private.
David Earle
David Leroy Earle, 72, a 10-year resident of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and formerly of Severna Park and Annapolis, died of natural causes May 30, 2002 at Corsica Hills Nursing Center in Centrevlle after a brief illness.
Mr. Earle was born June 18, 1929, and raised in Montclair, N.J. He attended the College of William and Mary in Virginia and graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor of science degree in business in 1958.
He served as an Army first lieutenant during the Korean War.
Mr. Earle was an industrial chemical sales representative.
He was a member of the Elks and the Calabash American Legion. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Bay Hills Golf Club in Arnold. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, bird watching, gardening, woodworking and sports.
Surviving are one son, David Leroy Earle Jr. of Columbia; two daughters, Diane Johnson of Ashburn, Va., and Julia Louise Walker of Boyds in Montgomery County; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at a later date. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.

George Kirkland
Retired Army Maj. George Washington Kirkland, 84, of Heritage Harbour, died June 2, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Maj. Kirkland was born Feb. 4, 1918, in Natchez, La., and attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, La.
He retired from the military after serving from 1944 to 1964. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He moved to this area two years ago from District Heights.
Surviving are his wife, Therese Kirkland, whom he married
in 1958; two daughters, Sylvana Tucker of Annapolis and Vonja Kirkland of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Hazel Howard of Marshall, Texas; and four grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Kirk H'Jad.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Maryland Veterans cemetery in Crownsville, followed by burial.

Kathleen Mooney
Kathleen Marie "Kathy" Mooney, 34, of Tampa, Fla., and formerly of Selby in Edgewater, died suddenly May 31, 2002 at a condominium in Ocean City. The cause of death is not available.
Ms. Mooney was born Nov. 20, 1967, in Cheverly and graduated in 1985 from South River High School. She was employed as a model and aerobics instructor. She loved animals.
Surviving are her father and stepmother, Pat Mooney II and Rae Garcia Mooney of Deale; her mother and stepfather, Ruth Lee and Michael DeVaughn of Dunkirk; her brother, Patrick Mooney III of Pasadena; one stepsister, Carrie Plowden of Bowie; and her grandmother, Dorothy Darr of Tucson, Ariz.
She was formerly married
to Michael Christodoulou and Paul Stevens, both of Florida.
Family and friends will assemble at the Happy Harbor restaurant in Deale at 6 p.m. Friday to board a boat and proceed to the Chesapeake Bay for a memorial service. A reception will follow at the restaurant. Arrangements are by Hardesty Funeral Home in Galesville.
