Geraldine Dykes
Geraldine Virginia "Leanie" Dykes, 75, of Annapolis, died of renal failure June 10, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mrs. Dykes was born June 13, 1926, in Annapolis and attended the former Wiley H. Bates High School. She was a supervisor for 37 years at the Naval Academy laundry.
She was a resident of the Fairfield Nursing Center in Crownsville for the past 10 years, where she was president of the residents council.
Her interests included traveling, fishing and her grandchildren.
She was formerly married
to Ernest Dykes of Oakland, Calif.
Also surviving are one daughter, Yvonne E. Dykes of Annapolis; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Doris Burke.
Visitation will begin at noon tomorrow at Reese and Sons Mortuary, 821 West St., with a Christian wake at 1 p.m. and a funeral at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Charlotte Jones
Charlotte Ellen Jones, 72, of Glen Burnie, died of congestive heart failure June 9, 2002 at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore.
Born June 7, 1931, in Annapolis to the late Helena A. Johnson Jones and Gomelia Jones, Ms. Jones was a graduate of the former Carver Elementary School and Wiley H. Bates High School.
She was employed as a home health aide and child care provider. She enjoyed cooking and baking, music and the company of her grandchildren.
Survivors include five sons, Samuel W. Mason of Pittsburgh, Pa., Curtis W. Thompson of Aberdeen, Andrew Thompson III and Kevin Thompson Sr. of Annapolis and Darrin E. Thompson of Inglewood, Calif.; four daughters, Michelle Adams of Long Beach, Calif., Renee Pettiford and Monique R. Diggs of Annapolis and Letitia L. Thompson of Glen Burnie; one brother, Karl E. Thomas of Glen Burnie; one sister, Ernestine Thomas of Annapolis; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Reese and Sons Mortuary, 821 West St., with a Christian wake at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
James Miller
Funeral services for James Brian "Jay" Miller, 16-month-old son of Brian and Leigh Miller of Edgewater, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Annapolis Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 710 Ridgely Ave.
Jay died June 10, 2002 at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., from injuries he suffered in a vehicle crash June 7 in Edgewater.
He was born Feb. 13, 2001, in Annapolis and was a member of the Annapolis Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where he attended the nursery.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Nicholas J., Michael N. and Kathryn M. Miller of the home; his grandparents, John and Doris Tatterson and Richard N. Miller of Annapolis and Valerie and Gerald McFadden of Edgewater; and his great-grandparents, Willis and Marie Tatterson of South Charlestown, W.Va., and Maude Cottom of Dawson, Pa.
Child care will be provided during the funeral. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Hardesty Funeral Home.
Raymond O'Neill
Air Force Chief Warrant Officer Raymond Emmett O'Neill, 83, of Heritage Harbour and formerly of Potomac, died June 12, 2002 at Holy Cross Nursing Home in Burtonsville after a brief illness.
On Sept. 13, 1918, Chief O'Neill was born in Minneapolis, Minn., and retired from the Air Force after serving in World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars. He then worked at the Pentagon as a civilian for the Air Force. His final retirement was in 1982, after 40 years of service for the military. He received the Legion of Merit and the Commendation medals.
He was a fan of the Washington Redskins, the Maryland Terps and NBA basketball teams.
Surviving are his wife, Selma G. O'Neill, whom he married
June 25, 1948; two daughters, Sharon O'Neill and Denise Pope of Columbia; one brother, Lawrence O'Neill of Effie, Minn.; one sister, Lois Munsinger of Fridley, Minn.; and one grandchild. He was the son of the late Robert and Florence O'Neill.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Ave., where services will be at 7:30 p.m. Burial in Arlington National cemetery will be private.

Steven Rauseo
Steven Nicholas Rauseo, 44, of West Chicago, Ill., and formerly of Annapolis, died June 11, 2002 at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Rauseo was born June 2, 1958, in Denver, Colo., grew up in Annapolis and graduated from Annapolis High School in 1976. His studies took him from the University of Virginia to the University of Pittsburgh to the University of California at Los Angeles.
Most recently, he was a tenured associate professor in the physics department at Wheaton College. His passion was teaching and he loved helping students integrate their faith with science.
One of his favorite annual events was teaching in the college's remote science station in the Black Hills of South Dakota. He also enjoyed fishing each summer in Crystal Lake, Wyo., with his grandfather.
He was known as a man of faith who loved his family and a great cook who loved making fresh tomato sauce.
Surviving are his wife, the former Doris Newberry, whom he married
in 1981; three children, Abigail Grace, Andrew Nicholas and Luke Steven Rauseo, all of the home; his parents, Nick and Eva Louise Rauseo of Annapolis; his grandfather, Jennings King, 96, recently of Annapolis and a longtime resident of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and two sisters, Diane Marie Rauseo of Alexandria, Va., and Theresa Rauseo Burtis of Randallstown.
He was the brother of the late Joe Rauseo.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 tonight at Faith Evangelical Covenant Church in Wheaton, where a memorial service will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Hultgren Funeral Home in Wheaton.

Richard Roberts
A funeral Mass for retired Navy Chief Petty Officer Richard Fayne Roberts Sr., 76, of Davison, Mich., and formerly of Annapolis, was celebrated May 28 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Flint, Mich.
Chief Roberts died of an acute blood infection May 22, 2002 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa., after suffering from pneumonia.
Born Dec. 22, 1925, in Shamokin, Pa., he graduated from Annapolis High School in 1944. He retired from the Navy in 1964 after 20 years, serving as a recruiter who inducted his first son into the Navy. He was a member of the Submarine Veterans of World War II.
After retiring from the Navy, he worked for GM Manufacturing's Chevrolet Division in Detroit, Mich., retiring again in 1988.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and enjoyed hockey and gardening.
Surviving are his wife, Florence Roberts, whom he married
Jan. 25, 1947; two sons, Walter Roberts of Plymouth, Ind., and Richard Roberts Jr. of Burton, Mich.; one daughter, Annetta Vance of St. Joseph, Mich.; three brothers, Joseph T. Roberts of Wheaton, David E. Roberts of Reno, Ohio, and Thomas G. Roberts Jr. of Columbia; one sister, Nancy J. Bennett of Annapolis; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Thomas G. and Lillian Roberts.
Burial was in Dawn cemetery in Elba, Mich. Arrangements were by Allen Funeral Home in Davison.
