Dorothea Kerber
Dorothea Margaret Kerber, 86, of Centreville and formerly of Kent Island, died June 20, 2002 at the Corsica Hills Nursing Home in Centreville where she had resided since 1992.
Born in Baltimore on Nov. 23, 1915, Miss Kerber was the daughter of the late William C. and Dora Nutzel Kerber. She moved to Queen Anne's County in 1940 and worked at Friel Lumber Co. as a secretary for many years, retiring in 1992.
She was a founding member of Galilee Lutheran Church in Chester.
Surviving is a brother, William C. Kerber Jr. of Savannah, Ga. Her brother, Charles Kerber, died in May 2001.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newman Funeral Home, 106 Shamrock Road, Chester. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Parkwood cemetery in Baltimore.

David Lee Jr.
David "Davy" Ellis Lee Jr., 38, died unexpectedly June 8, 2002 in Cambridge, Mass.
Mr. Lee was born June 27, 1963, in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Edgewater. He graduated in 1981 from South River High School, where he was active in sports and was academically gifted. He played on the soccer and lacrosse teams and was a member of the ski club and the student council. He graduated from Loyola College of Maryland in Baltimore in 1986 with a bachelor of arts degree in business and played rugby on the college team. In his childhood, he enjoyed boating and fishing on the Chesapeake Bay, building electronic and rocket kits and water-skiing. He was on the Loch Haven swim team and competed in the county river league and the Annapolis pool league. He became an accomplished sailor, racing with his family aboard their boat, Leeway, and on other competitive sailboats in Annapolis.
He was employed in the computer field and as a carpenter. He enjoyed woodworking, boat repair and construction projects.
Surviving are his mother, Marlene Ann Robertson Lee of Edgewater, and one sister, Denise Lee of Santa Cruz, Calif. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Stewart Lee, and his father, Davis Ellis Lee Sr.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. June 29 at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cambridge YMCA, Central House, in care of Ellen Brouillard, manager, 820 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, MA 02139.
Alice Lucas
Services for Alice Lenore Lucas, 69, of Lerkenlund, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, were held June 18, 2002 at Davis Funeral Home in St. Thomas.
Mrs. Lucas died June 13 at Schnieder Hospital in St. Thomas after a brief illness.
Born June 22, 1932, in Annapolis, she lived in the Virgin Islands for the past 10 years and formerly worked for Metro Motors there.
In 1965 she was divorced from John McKown Sr. of Cranberry, Pa.
Also surviving are two sons, John McKown Jr. of Arnold and Robert McKown of Cranberry; two daughters, Julia Chrisikos and Donna Barlow of Lerkenlund; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Doris Lyons
Doris Peabody Lyons, 97, formerly of Portland, Maine, died June 19, 2002 at a nursing home in Burlington, Vt.
Mrs. Lyons was born July 12, 1905, at the family farm in Shelburne, N.H., graduated from Portland High School and attended Emerson College in Boston, Mass.
Mrs. Lyons was active in education and politics, serving as president of the Maine PTA and the Women's Literary Union. Her activities in the Republican Party included serving as chairman of the Maine Republican Central Committee and as a delegate to the Republican National Convention.
Her husband, John G. Lyons, died in 1981.
Surviving are two daughters, Charlotte Lynch of Essex Junction, Vt., and Barbara Steiner of California; one son, Dr. John G. Lyons of Annapolis; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, retired Navy Capt. Thomas W. Lyons.
Services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home in Essex Junction.
Frances Watts
Frances Watts, 82, a resident of Arnold for 60 years, died of heart failure June 17, 2002 at her home after a brief illness.
Mrs. Watts was born Aug. 23, 1919, in Annapolis and attended county public schools. She worked at Baltimore-Washington International Airport, the Crownsville Hospital Center and Jubb Bus Services and did private duty nursing.
She received a governor's award for providing safe transportation during hazardous weather while working for the bus company.
Mrs. Watts also raised three foster children. She served on the usher board at Mount Calvary United Methodist Church in Arnold and was a member of the United Methodist Women.
Her interests included planting flowers, home interior decorating and design and gospel music.
Her former husband, Asbury Pulley, died in 1994. Her second husband, Samuel Watts, died in 1995.
Surviving are five sons, Wardell, Douglas and Asbury Pulley of Baltimore, Edgar Pulley of Alaska and Russell Pulley of Arnold; one daughter, Saundra Pulley of Severna Park; one brother, Wardell Henson of Annapolis; two sisters, Hattie Hector and Ruby Holman of California; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grand-children; and 39 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow at Mount Calvary United Methodist Church, 1236 Jones Station Road, Arnold, with a Christian wake at 9:30 a.m. and funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Reese and Sons Mortuary.
Bessie Booher
Bessie Marie Booher, 76, of Edgewater, died of natural causes June 18, 2002 at her home.
Mrs. Booher was born Feb. 21, 1926, in Kansas City, Mo., and was a homemaker. She enjoyed being with her family and gardening.
On July 16, 1941, she married
John J. Booher Sr., who died June 23, 2000.
Surviving are three sons, John Booher Jr. of College Park, Michael Booher of Fort Washington and David Booher of Annapolis; one daughter, Shirley Harrell of Woodinville, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Martha Ann Booher.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. tomorrow at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Maryland Veterans cemetery in Crownsville.

Daryel Bush
Daryel Dean "Dee Dee" Bush, 43, of Breezewood, Pa., and formerly of Annapolis, died of heart failure June 10, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
The son of the late Reuben and Eleanor Bush, Mr. Bush was born in Annapolis on June 19, 1958. He enjoyed automobile mechanics, building model cars and auto racing.
On July 6, 1985, he married
Elizabeth Marie Bush.
Also surviving are two brothers, James A. McCown of Annapolis and Terry L. McCown of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Roxie Riley of Cumberland and Pamela Alton of Crownsville.
A memorial service will be held at 10 this morning at the home of his sister at 1090 Generals Highway, Crownsville.
