Barbara Nicholson
Barbara Jutta Nicholson, 61, died of cancer June 23, 2002 at her home in Annapolis.
Born Jan. 15, 1941, in Berlin, Germany, where she graduated from high school, Mrs. Nicholson lived in Annapolis for the past 27 years and had previously lived in Virginia.
She was an executive secretary for the law office of Wilkinson, Barker and Knaver.
In 1970 she married
Robert Nicholson of Annapolis. The couple was divorced in 1983.
She enjoyed antiquing and skiing.
Surviving are her daughter, Claudine Nicholson Campbell of Denver, Colo.; and her brother, Klaus Jacob of Berlin.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., with funeral services to follow. Burial will be in Cedar Bluff Cemetery.
Marie O'Donnell
Marie A. O'Donnell, 84, of Grasonville, died June 23, 2002 at Corsica Hills Nursing Home in Centreville.
Born on June 9, 1918, in Baltimore, Mrs. O'Donnell was the daughter of the late William R. and Barbara Wick Long. She attended school in Baltimore and on May 13, 1938, married
Omer Woodrow "Woody" O'Donnell. They lived in the Baltimore area until her husband's retirement. In 1971 they moved to Grasonville. Mr. O'Donnell died Jan. 2, 1997.
She was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7464 in Grasonville and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Grasonville Volunteer Fire Company.
Surviving are two daughters, Miriam Marie Kasper of Stevensville and Debra Ann Seward of Grasonville; a son, Frederick T. O'Donnell of Centreville; a brother, William R. Long Jr. of Perry Hall; a sister, Julia Schroeder of Baltimore; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Long.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Route 18 and Station Lane, Grasonville, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Chesterfield cemetery in Centreville. Arrangements are by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home in Chester.

Marcus Ramsey
Marcus Wayne Ramsey, 60, a former California deputy insurance commissioner, died June 21, 2002 at his home in Odenton after a brief illness.
Born April 11, 1942, in Little Rock, Ark., Mr. Ramsey attended the University of Arkansas and graduated from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., in 1965 with a bachelor's degree in political science.
He worked as a Capitol Hill police officer before beginning a career in automobile insurance. At the time of his death, Mr. Ramsey was the chief operating officer of Katz Insurance Group in Baltimore and had worked previously for the Maryland Auto Insurance Fund. He spent the greater part of his career in California, where he also served as deputy insurance commissioner for the state. He had received the distinguished Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter's designation in 1977.
Mr. Ramsey is survived by his wife, Judith Ramsey, whom he married
Nov. 7, 1964; five daughters, Rebecca Gerhardt of Portland, Ore., Rachel McConnell of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., Angela Ramsey of London, England, and Maridith and Catharine Ramsey of the home; his sister, Virginia Ramsey of Little Rock, Ark.; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Brown Colonial Mortuary in Santa Ana, Calif., followed by graveside services at 1 p.m. at Ascension cemetery in Lake Forest, Calif. Local arrangements are by Hardesty Funeral Home.

Loretta White Eagle
Loretta Way White Eagle, 64, of Odenton, died June 22, 2002 at North Arundel Hospital of complications of a stroke.
Mrs. White Eagle was born Dec. 11, 1937, in Whiteriver, Ariz. She retired in 1998 from the U.S. Department of the Interior as a program specialist.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where she was a former reader and a Eucharistic minister. She enjoyed reading and sewing.
The widow of Charles Winston White Eagle, who died in 2001 after 39 years of marriage, she is survived by two sons, Michael and Levi White Eagle, and one daughter, Ivanna Riley, all of Odenton; four sisters, Rebecca Kane, Vida Martinez, Kathryn Colelay and Kathleen Goode, all of Whiteriver; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hardesty Funeral Home, 851 Annapolis Road, Gambrills. Services will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Odenton Road, Odenton. Burial will be in Glen Haven cemetery in Glen Burnie.
Jay Beatty
Jay R. Beatty, 79, of Annapolis, died of cancer June 26, 2002 at his home.
Born Oct. 5, 1922, in Vanderbilt, Pa., Mr. Beatty was a corporal in the Marine Corps during World War II. He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1949 from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Except for during the war years, he worked from 1940 to 1982 as an electrical engineer with the former C&P; Telephone Co. in Washington.
Mr. Beatty was a member of Davidsonville United Methodist Church, Chapter 15 of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Captain's Circle on the Princess Line and the Harbor Squares square dance club. His interests included cruise travel.
His first wife, Lou C. Beatty, died in 1983. In 1991, he was married
to Betty L. Beatty.
Also surviving are two sons, William C. Beatty of Upper Tract, W.Va., and Jay R. Beatty Jr. of Bethesda; one daughter, Faye Slye of Sharpsburg; one stepdaughter, Janet L. LaFrance of Severna Park; four sisters, Esther Prichard of Co-rona, Calif., Polly Mears of Chevy Chase and Emily Rhodes and Marjorie Beatty of Chincoteague, Va.; and seven granddaughters. He was the brother of the late Jack Beatty.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Davidsonville United Methodist Church, 819 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville. Burial will be in Lakemont cemetery in Davidsonville. Arrangements are by Hardesty Funeral Home.

Marion Keene
Marion Brooks Keene, 87, of Vero Beach, Fla., died June 26, 2002 at the Severna Park Center, Genesis Eldercare Network.
Born Sept. 23, 1914, in Gloversville, N.Y., Mrs. Keene was the daughter of Albert and Jessie Harrison Brooks and graduated from the Oneonta, N.Y., Normal School.
She was employed as an elementary school teacher in Fulton and Montgomery counties in New York at the former Mayfield Rural School, the Fonda School District, the Berkshire Rural School and the Jansen Avenue School in Johnstown, from which she retired.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Vero Beach, the Vero Beach Women's Club, the Vero Beach Antiques and Collectors Club and the New York State Retired Teachers Association. She was a former member of the Fremont Street United Methodist Church in Gloversville, N.Y.
On July 12, 1940, she married
John T. Keene who died July 22, 1997.
Surviving are one son, John T. Keene Jr. of Severna Park, and two grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Walrath and Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in Fonda, N.Y.
