JAMES P. MILLER
James P. Miller, 79, Frostburg, formerly of Oakland, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home, Frostburg.
Born on May 14, 1927, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Harold V. and Ada L. (Twigg) Miller. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy J. (Henderson) Miller, in 1994; three sisters, Betty Lee, Barbara White and Shirley Miller; and two brothers, Harold J. Miller and Russell Miller.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Oakland. After 35 years of service he retired as a foreman with the C&P Telephone Company, and for 10 years he worked at the Fairchild Aircraft Corp. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice E. "Bea" (Frazee) Miller; one daughter, Karen J. Blank and husband Raymond, Mount Savage; three sons, James H. Miller and wife Bonnie, Greencastle, Pa., Steven P. Miller and wife Vonda, Martinsburg, W.Va., and Craig A. Miller and wife Sharon, Cumberland; three brothers, Billy K. Miller, Roanoke, Va., Bobby D. Miller, Cumberland, and Maurice Miller, LaVale; six granddaughters, Jamie, Karrie Ann, Brittany, Shayann, Kendra and Cierra; four stepgrandchildren; two great-grand-children; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, on Sunday, and an interment service was conducted at the Blooming Rose Cemetery, Friendsville, on Monday, April 23, with Pastor Paul Dietz officiating.
Military honors were accorded at the cemetery by members of the various veterans' organizations in southern Garrett County.

T. ABRAHAM HOLLAND
T. Abraham "Abe" Holland, 84, Mountain Lake Park, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born on Feb. 15, 1923, in Deer Park, he was the son of the late Daniel A. and Beulah M. (McCrobie) Holland. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hilda B. (Evans) Holland, in 1986.
For 42 years he worked for the B&O Railroad as a brakeman. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a life member of Proctor Kildow Post 71, American Legion, Oakland, and a former member of the 40/8. He was a member of Oakland Lodge 2481, BPO Elks and the United Transportation Union. He was a volunteer for the Special Olympics of Maryland.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda K. Fike, Mountain Lake Park, and Lou Ann Holland, Millersville; one son, T. Eugene Holland and wife Betty Lou, Oakland; three sisters, Margaret Germain and Louise Bowman, both of Oakland, and Shirley Guthrie, Crellin; three brothers, Daniel Holland, Oakland, Richard Holland, Loch Lynn Heights, and David Holland, Fairmont, W.Va.; one aunt, Bessie Sherrill, Lewes, Del.; three grandchildren, Kimberly Fike, Catonsville, Tracy Brenneman, Accident, and Scott Watson, Matthews, N.C.; and seven great-grand-children, Britiny, Joshua, Robbie, Matthew, Siara, Mason, and Braelyn.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted Tuesday, April 24, with the Rev. David Martin officiating.
Interment was in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.

WILLIAM E. STEWART JR.
William E. Stewart Jr., 54, McHenry, died Monday, April 23, 2007, in Oakland.
Born June 21, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pa., he was the son of Margaret (Heibert) Stewart, McHenry, and the late William E. Stewart Sr.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, William Regis Stewart, one daughter, Tina Marie (Stewart) Conn, both of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two brothers, Thomas Stewart, Pittsburgh, and James Stewart, Oakland; two sisters, Sandra Stewart, Terra Alta, W.Va., and Connie Stewart, Oakland; and four grandchildren.
At the request of the deceased, the body will be cremated.
A memorial service will be held at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Oakland, on Friday, April 27, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Collett officiating.
JANET SQUIBB
Janet (Loach) Squibb, 69, Deep Creek Lake, and former resident of Pleasant Hills, Pa., died April 23, 2007, at her son's residence.
Born on Sept. 7, 1937, in Detroit, Mich., she was a daughter of the late Russell and Martha (Gray) Loach. She was also predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Squibb.
She is survived by one son, Ronald L. Squibb, Belle Vernon, Pa., and one daughter, Jennifer Stetson, Baltimore; and three grandchildren.
She was a speech and drama major at Grove City College, and attended Victoria Modeling School and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She acted with the Pittsburgh Play House, Little Lake Theater, Town & Country Players, and the Garrett County Players as well as in radio and on television commercials. She did fashion and photographic modeling, and worked for Kelly Girls in Pittsburgh and the H.P. Stores in Oakland.
She was a member of Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church and was previously involved in the Altar Guild and Woman's Association. She was a past president of Women's Club of Grove City College, a council member of the Alumni Association, and a member of the Daughters of the American Colonists.
Friends were received at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Pleasant Hills. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 27, at 11:30 a.m. at the Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Paul Thwaite officiating. The interment will be private at Jefferson Memorial Park.

CHARLES E. SMITH
Charles ("Dick") E. Smith, 75, Oakland, died Monday, April 23, 2007, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg, W.Va.
Born on Oct. 22, 1931, in Tioga, W.Va., he was a son of the late Clarence and Leona M. Dillon Smith.
He was a truck driver for Williams Trucking, Baltimore, for more than 20 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He is survived by four daughters, Jeanne M. Liller, Oakland, Pamela Sue Robertson, Kansas, Theresa A. Ringer, Aurora, W.Va., and Tessie M. Smith, Baltimore; a sister, Betty Vance, York, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A military graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 25, at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton, W.Va., officiated by Rev. Russell Liller. Arrangements were handled by the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home of Terra Alta, W.Va.
EVELYN L. DEAN
Evelyn L. "Lyn" Dean, 54, Oakland, died Sunday, April 22, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
Born on Sept. 23, 1952, in Oakland, she was a daughter of Margaret (Seese) Dean, Grantsville, and the late F. DeNeal Dean. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James. F. Dean.
She was a resident of the Appalachian Crossroad's McMurray group home in Oakland.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sisters, Dianne Dean-Anderson, Oakland, and Julia D. Umbel, Friendsville.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was held on Wednesday, April 25, with Rev. Mel Menker officiating. Interment was in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.

N. GLADINE SMITH
N. Gladine Smith, 90, Oakland, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at the Dennett Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born on Jan. 29, 1917, in Cranesville, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late William H. and Alice H. (Riley) Hartman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray O. Smith, in 1986, and by a son, Bobby W. Smith.
She was a 55-year member of the Mountaintop Christian Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Geraldine H. Boucher, Waupaca, Wis., and Bernadine D. Tasker, Oakland; one son, Denzil D. Smith, Oakland; one sister, Mary V. Charlton, Williamsport; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grand-children; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, and a service was held at the Mountaintop Christian Assembly of God Church today, April 26, with Rev. Louis Boucher and Rev. Gail Hixon officiating. Interment was in the Deer Park Cemetery.

WALTER W. MCROBIE
Walter William McRobie, 76, Carrollton, Ohio, formerly of Vindex, died Monday, April 23, 2007.
He was born on Aug. 31, 1930, in Vindex, a son of the late Newton and Carey (Puffenbarker) McRobie.
He was a mobile home salesman, and a retired police officer for the Stark County (Ohio) Sheriff Mounted Patrol and Perry Township School Patrol. He was a Shriner and Masonic member.
He married Mabel White on Sept. 3, 1950.
Surviving are his wife and four sons, Scott McRobie, Massillon, Ohio, Chris McRobie, Oakland, Tim McRobie, Carrollton, and Jesse McRobie, Carrollton; one sister, Minnie Williams, Hagerstown; one brother, Eddie McRobie, Canton, Ohio; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held this evening, April 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Allmon, Dugger & Cotton Funeral Home, located at 304 2nd St. NW, Carrollton.
The funeral will be conducted on Friday, April 27, at 11 a.m., with a viewing one hour prior to the funeral. The Rev. Frank Ellis will preside.
The burial will be at Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens. There will be a masonic service at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
JAMIE M. ANDERSON
Jamie Marcia Anderson, 28, Baltimore, died on March 19, 2007, at her home.
She was the daughter of Brenda (Unger) and stepdaughter of Llewellyn "Bud" Dietrich, Cumberland. She was also the daughter of James Anderson Sr. of Baltimore.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Raymond Irvin and Hattie Maxine (Hinebaugh) Unger, Deer Park; and paternal grandfather, Charles Hamilton, Essex.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by three sisters, Betty Jo Stewart, Moorefield, W.Va., Brenda Kay Paugh, Dundalk, and Kimberley Ann Anderson, Essex; and one brother, James William Anderson Jr., Essex. She is also survived by her grandmother, Shirley Anderson, Baltimore.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28, at the home of her uncle, Ronald Unger, 141 Oak St., Mountain Lake Park, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Paul Snyder officiating.
Arrangements were made by her uncle Ron Unger and her aunt Lil (Unger) Beckman.
