Betty Thusius
Betty Redeker Thusius, 63, a resident of Annapolis for 32 years and formerly of Watertown, Wis., and Conover, N.C., died of an intercranial hemorrhage June 29, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a four-day illness.
Mrs. Thusius was born Aug. 10, 1938, in Centralia, Ill. She receive a bachelor of science degree in education from Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, Ill., in 1960 and a master's degree in education from Towson University in 1982.
She taught elementary school at the Concordia Lutheran Church School in Conover from 1960 to 1966 and taught kindergarten at St. Paul Lutheran Church School in Annapolis from 1972 to 1978. She then taught second grade at Rolling Knolls Elementary School from 1978 until retiring in 1998.
She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Glen Burnie and an active participant in Bible Study Fellowship. Her interests also include golf and reading.
On June 30, 1962, she was married
to Roger L. Thusius. Also surviving are two children, Patric Alan Thusius and Ann Marie Thusius of Annapolis; four siblings, Richard Redeker and Eunice Hausler of New Minden, Ill., Luther Redeker of Shattuc, Ill., and Wilma Maschoff of Hoyleton, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Glen Burnie. Burial will be in Lakemont cemetery in Davidsonville.

Michael Faber
The names of two family members were incorrectly spelled in the obituary for Michael G. Faber, 51, of Shady Side, which was published on June 29, 2002.
Mr. Faber, who died of heart disease June 27, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center, is survived by his daughter, Karalee Gancie of Severna Park, and his sister, Linda Teets of LaPlata.
George Braude
George L. Braude, 84, a retired organic chemist and former president of the Maryland Chapter of the American Chemical Society, died June 26, 2002 at the Severna Park Center, Genesis ElderCare Network, after a brief illness.
Mr. Braude was born in Samara, Russia, on March 2, 1918, and was raised in Germany. In 1942 he received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of Vilnius. In 1945 he received his first doctoral degree in organic chemistry from the University of Halle in Berlin, Germany and a year later, his second doctoral degree in economics from the same university.
He moved to the United States where he worked for the Food and Drug Administration. He had a long career with the W.R. Grace & Co as chief of the chemical industry practices branch in the chemical technology division and as director and special projects manager in organic research.
Besides serving as the state president of the American Chemical Society, he was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and received the award of merit from the Maryland section ACS in 1968.
He also was published in numerous professional publications.
He was an avid skier and swimmer and enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Monique C. Braude.
A funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, Cecil Avenue, Millersville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Katherine Errico
Katherine Errico, 80, of Annapolis, died of cancer June 27, 2002 at her home after a six-months illness.
Born in Stillwater, N.Y., Mrs. Errico had formerly lived in District Heights.
After completing high school and getting a business degree, she began a career that spanned 35 years with the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. She was one of the first females to hold a professional position in the Watershed branch of the agency where she had the responsibility for the management of funds for various watershed projects.
After her retirement in 1976, she married
Phillip Paul Errico and they spent the next 26 years doing volunteer work for the Guild of Villa Rosa which covered a variety of services for the patients at the Villa Rosa Home.
She also was an avid reader and belonged to several book clubs.
Survivors include her husband of Annapolis; and step-son, P. Michael Errico of Davidsonville. She was the sister of the late Thomas Finnegan.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis followed by burial in Cedar Hill cemetery in Suitland.

Michael G. Faber
Michael G. Faber, 51, a Deale business contractor, died June 27, 2002 of heart disease at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Born in Washington, D.C., he lived in Deale since 1966. He graduated from Southern Senior High School, class of 1969, in the first class to graduate in the present building.
He attended the Purdue extension of Indiana University and received an associate degree in accounting.
He was in the Navy from 1969 to 1973, seeing duty in Vietnam as a radarman. He received the National Defense Service and Vietnam Campaign Medals.
He was a self-employed flooring contractor and operated Faber Carpets in Deale with his brother, Richard Faber since 1985. His uncle, Norman Faber was part owner until his death in 1991.
He was a member of the South County Moose Club and the Deale Elks Lodge 2528.
His hobbies were golf, horseshoes and camping and was a loyal Washington Redskins fan.
Survivors include his wife Patricia L. "Patti" Faber; one son, William W. Faber of Deale; two daughters, Karalee Cancie of Severna Park and Paula M. Eskew of Shady Side; his mother, Barbara A. Faber of Deale; three sisters, Linda Teels of LaPlata, Debra Johnston of San Diego, Calif., and Colleen Janosik of Oxon Hill; two brothers, Robert Catlin of Baltimore and Richard D. Faber of Deale; and four grandchildren. He was formerly married
to Kathy Campbell of Crofton.
He was the son of the late Leonard G. Faber and the brother of the late Steven Faber.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mount Harmony Lane, Owings where services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.

Elwood LaBrie
H. Elwood LaBrie, 72, of Grasonville, died June 27, 2002 at his home.
Born April 15, 1930, in Baltimore, Mr. LaBrie was the son of the late Thomas William LaBrie and Evelyn Blockston. He grew up on Kent Island and attended Patterson High School in Baltimore.
He enlisted in the Navy and after his discharge, he began working for Crown Cork and Seal in Baltimore.
On July 9, 1951, he married
the former Betty Lee Smith and they moved back to the Kent Island area where he became a waterman. In 1958 he started working for United Shellfish as a driver and was the company's first salesman. He retired after 25 years.
He returned to his first love of fishing and went back to working on the water. He started Bays Best Seafood in Grasonville, retiring from the business in 1995.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Janice L. Duty of Queenstown; two sons, James W. LaBrie of Centreville and Henry E. LaBrie Jr. of Queenstown; four brothers, Kenley "Sonny" Hampton of Church Hill, William "BoBo" Hampton and Richard LaBrie of Queenstown and Albert Hampton of Centreville; three sisters, Marliyn Holmes of Millersville, Beatrice Hampton Dust of Hurlock, and Mary Hampton of Chester; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 106 Shamrock Road, Chester, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Stevensville Cemetery.
