Agnes Medley
Agnes Louise "Peggy" Medley, 58, a long-time resident of Lothian and previously of Annapolis, died June 27, 2002 at the Fairfield Nursing Center after a 12-year illness.
Ms. Medley was born in Lothian, on Jan. 4, 1944, and was a graduate of the former Wiley H. Bates High School.
Most of her life she was a private duty nurse until her health failed.
She was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Lothian.
Surviving are her brother, Joe Louis Tasker, and two sisters, Florence Turner and Delores Wooten, all of Lothian.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, with the Christian wake from 10:30 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 122 Bayard Road in Lothian. Burial will follow at the Moses cemetery in Drury. Arrangements are by Reese and Sons Mortuary.
Brian Nowell
Brian Lee Nowell, 45, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and formerly of Annapolis, died unexpectedly in Fort Lauderdale. The cause of death was not available.
Mr. Nowell was born in Annapolis on Feb. 20, 1957, and graduated from Annapolis High School in 1975. He was a marine safety equipment technician and was employed in that field for more than 27 years, working for Zodiac of North America in Annapolis and then for Inflatable Services in Fort Lauderdale.
He traveled to many locations in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean on the job. He created several of the repair techniques used today.
His interests were his family, playing the guitar, pets, boating, travel, body art and partying.
Surviving are his father, Jim Nowell of Grasonville; his sister, Sharon Nowell of Edgewater; his brother, Keith Nowell of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Katie Nowell of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Shannon Tamosaitis of Lafayette, La.; two sons, Richard Nowell and Brian Nowell Jr. of Fort Lauderdale; and one granddaughter.
Services were private. Arrangements were by All County Funeral Home in Lake Worth, Fla.
Peter Devlin
Peter Patrick Devlin, 63, a resident of Wardour in Annapolis for the past 21 years, died July 4, 2002 of cancer at his home after a four-year illness.
Mr. Devlin was born July 3, 1939, in Philadelphia and previously lived in the Capitol Hill section of Washington, D.C.
He attended LaSalle College High School in Philadelphia and enrolled at Villanova University in Philadelphia.
During his early years, Mr. Devlin felt a calling to the priesthood and in preparation attended St. Philip Neri Preparatory School in Boston. He then enrolled at Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity Seminary where he studied from 1961 to 1969.
He changed his mind about his career and returned to Villanova where he received a degree in engineering. He received his doctorate in philosophy at Catholic University in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Devlin went on to work as a clinical psychologist for 30 years at the Veterans Administration Medical Center and was in private practice in Washington, D.C., and Annapolis.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Annapolis.
Mr. Devlin enjoyed sailing and woodworking.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Juliane Devlin; his son, Matt Devlin of the home; two daughters, Kate Devlin of Philadelphia and Mollie Devlin of the home; and his brother, Harry Devlin of Havertown, Pa.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Ave. in Annapolis. A funeral Mass will be offered for Mr. Devlin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester St. Burial will follow at Cedar Bluff cemetery in Annapolis.

Evelyn Drocella
Evelyn Drocella, 71, died unexpectedly July 4, 2002, at her home in Pasadena.
Mrs. Drocella was born Dec. 20, 1930, in Baltimore, where she lived until her move to Pasadena 36 years ago.
She was a homemaker and was married
to Edward F. Drocella Sr. for 48 years. Mr. Drocella died in 2001.
She was a member of Jenkins Memorial Church in Pasadena.
Mrs. Drocella enjoyed gardening and music.
She is survived by three sons, Edward F. Drocella Jr., Gary Drocella of Pasadena and Robert Drocella of Hanover; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Jenkins Memorial Church, 133 Riviera Drive in Pasadena. Burial will follow at Meadowridge cemetery in Elkridge.
Emma Linthicum
Emma Cook Linthicum, 90, of Odenton and previously of Gambrills, died July 5, 2002 of natural causes at the Hospice of Somer-Ford in Annapolis.
Mrs. Linthicum was born July 10, 1911, in Baltimore and was a graduate of City College High School.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Linthicum Women's Club and enjoyed cooking, needlework and sewing.
Mrs. Linthicum was preceded in death by her husbands, Gordon R. Isaac in 1969, and Abner Howell Linthicum in 1998.
She is survived by her son, Warren G. Isaac of Odenton; her daughter, Judith Richardson of Salisbury; a niece, Margaret Elizabeth Curry of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., whom she raised; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Singleton Funeral Home, 1 Second Ave. S.W. at Crain Highway in Glen Burnie. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 4760 Mountain Road in Pasadena. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Kathryn Miles
Kathryn Loretta Miles, 83, died at her home in Annapolis June 30, 2002 of respiratory failure.
Mrs. Miles was born in Fort Palmer, Pa., and was a 13-year resident of Cape St. Claire. She had previously lived in Silver Spring.
She worked as a bookkeeper for most of her career, retiring in 1981 from the former Atlantic and Pacific Grocery stores.
Surviving are her daughter, Louise Fogel of Annapolis; her brother, John Gishnock; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Joseph, Steve and George Gishnock, and her sister, Rose Leskovich.
Funeral services are private. Arrangements were handled by the Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
