BRENDA S. YAKSIC
Brenda Sue Yaksic, 60, Little River, S.C., formerly of Oakland, died on Monday, June 25, 2007, at her home.
Born Jan. 22, 1947, in Brownsville, Pa., she was a daughter of Bernice Bell Yaksic and the late Albert Yaksic. She was preceded in death by her good friend, Joyce Hodge.
Brenda graduated from Brownsville High School and Morgantown Business College. She recently retired from FUIG Gonder Agency, Oakland.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her sister, Janet Conn and husband Anthony, Ellsworth, Pa.; one nephew, Norm Wible and wife Jessica, Pawley’s Island, S.C.; one niece, Mandy Gause and husband Kevin, Longs, S.C.; great-niece Tessa Wible; great-nephew Elijah Gause; a very dear friend, Rhonda Liggett, California, Pa.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Brenda’s life was blessed with a loving family and friends, travel, fun, and adventure. Her life was full; her dreams fulfilled.
A private service will be held for her family.

JOHN H. GEROSKI
John Harold Geroski, 82, Oakland, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at Garrett Memorial Hospital.
Born April 4, 1925, in Kempton, he was a son of the late Jovo Durasevic (Geroski) and Ida B. Wilson. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Francis Geroski and Ray Geroski; one sister, Betty Pendleton; one son, Michael Allen Geroski; and one grandson, Mark Ashley Cannon.
Mr. Geroski retired from Buffalo Coal (Carl Del Signore) in 1983. He was the former owner and builder of the Genus Center on Garrett Highway, Oakland. He was a 50-year member of the Croatian Fraternal Union of America Lodge #47 in Pittsburgh, Pa., charter member of the Oakland Elks, and member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Davis, W.Va.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty (Lewis) Geroski, Oakland. He was the loving father of one son, John H. Geroski Jr., Hedgesville, W.Va.; three daughters, Sharon Porter, Mtn. Lake Park, Harriett Cannon of Crellin, and Cynthia Sundstrom, Fayetteville, W.Va.
Also surviving is one brother, Carl Jurie, Pueblo, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Erik Geroski, Caroline Evans, Stacy Geroski, and Joshua Geroski, all of Oakland, Beth Ann Hall, Winchester, Va., Jessica Geroski, Fredericksburg, Va., and Emily Sundstrom, Fayetteville; and five great-grandchildren, Vivian Geroski, Kristen Geroski, Jacob Cannon, Jonathon Evans, and Mara Evans, all of Oakland.
Friends were received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was held in the chapel on Wednesday, June 27, with the Rev. David Moon officiating.
Interment followed in Garrett Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
CLARENCE G. PAUGH JR.
Clarence George “Buzzy“ Paugh Jr., 69, Thomas, W.Va., died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 30, 1937, in Benbush, W.Va., he was a son of the late Sylvia (Shambaugh) and Clarence G. Paugh Sr. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Iris Whitehair and Gloria Sisler.
Mr. Paugh was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by his brother, Mervin H. Paugh and wife Georganna, Ridgewood, N.Y.; three sisters, Rachel G. Bonner, Bayard, W.Va., Martha L. Short, Terra Alta, W.Va., and Sharon R. Sims, Gormania, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
At Mr. Paugh’s request his body was cremated.
The inurnment of ashes will be held Friday, June 29, at 11 a.m., at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Thomas, with the Rev. Jonas Johnson Jr. officiating.

WAUNIETA M. FRAZEE
Waunieta Marie Frazee, 71, Accident, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at Cherry Hill Assisted Living, Accident.
Born May 6, 1936, in Accident, she was a daughter of the late Carl William, Sr. and Verna Mae (Fratz) Frazee.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Accident, and a homemaker.
She is survived by a brother, Carl W. Frazee Jr., Piscataway, N.J.; and three sisters, Leona Dronsfield, Nokesville, Va., Mary Ellen Younkin, Timonium, and Roberta (Bobbie) Sisler, Accident.
Friends were received at Zion Lutheran Church, where a service was conducted on Wednesday, June 27, with Rev. Keith Clow officiating.
Interment was held in Zion Cemetery.

CHARLES E. PAUGH JR.
Charles E. "Charlie" Paugh Jr., 84, Keyser, W.Va., died Monday, June 25, 2007, in Winchester, Va.
Born Jan. 24, 1923, in Kitzmiller, he was a son of the late Charles E. Paugh Sr. and Lucy E. (Williams) Paugh. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby H. (Miller) Paugh, and a sister, Bonnie Lou O'Shea.
Mr. Paugh was a former air craft electrician with the department of the Air Force and state of Utah manager of a liquor store. He was a 1939 graduate of Kitzmiller High School. He was a Presbyterian by faith and a member of Naval Mine Warfare Association, Kelly Mansfield Post 52, American Legion, NRA, AARP, and Mineral County Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his two sons, James E. Paugh and wife Rusty, Alamogordo, N.M., and Donald L. Paugh and wife Noleen, Utah; four grandchildren, Tim, Randy, Kevin, and Coby Paugh; three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Riley, and Devin Paugh; and a sister, Virginia Willie and husband Billy, Phoenix, Ariz. He is also survived by a special friend and companion, Carrie L. Lawrence, and her devoted family; and one niece, Coleen.
Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser, today, Thursday, June 28, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A service will held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev. Daniel Sears officiating.
Interment will follow in Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery.

CHARLES W. KNOTTS
Charles William Knotts, 78, Aurora, W.Va., died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at his home.
Born Aug. 3, 1928, in Rowlesburg, W.Va., he was a son of the late Willard J. and Eva Applegate Knotts. He was also preceded in death by an infant son; and a daughter, Kathy Knotts.
He was employed at Alpha Portland Cement Company for 16 years and retired from Cosmos, Morgantown, in 1990.
He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Association.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anzonettie Learlean Watkins Knotts; three sons, Charles E. Knotts, Aurora, Freddie L. Knotts, Arthurdale, W.Va., and David R. Knotts, Albright, W.Va.; five daughters, Caroline S. Knotts, Kingwood, W.Va., Angela G. Howdershelt, Independence, W.Va., Kimberly L. Sweitzer, Oakland, Tammy R. Adams, Albright, and Robin D. Burkhart, Capon Bridge, W.Va.; two brothers, Ernest R. Knotts, Keyser, W.Va. and Paul R. Knotts, Spelter, W.Va.; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Browning Funeral Home, Rowlesburg, today, Thursday, June 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a service will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m., with Pastor Sonny McNear officiating.
Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
DAVID K. MARTIN
David K. Martin, 53, Oakland, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
Born on July 10, 1953, in Oakland, he was a son of Delano R. and Betty L. (DeWitt) Martin, Oakland.
He was an active life-long member of the Crellin Assembly of God Church, where he was a former board member, a choir member, a Sunday school teacher, and an orchestra member.
In July 1977, he began his career in the Circuit Court of Garrett County office. He was appointed the clerk of the court in July 1990 and was first elected to that office in November 1990 and each election following. He was also a member of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Court Management, the National Court Clerks Association, and the Maryland Court Clerks Association.
A 1971 graduate of Southern Garrett High School, he received an AA degree from Garrett College, a bachelor’s degree in business management from LaSalle University, and a master’s degree in business administration from LaSalle University.
He was very active in area athletics, serving as an assistant coach of the Laker’s men’s basketball team at Garrett College, McHenry, for 20 years, a coach for the Oakland Little League baseball program, and the Service League basketball program, the coach of the Boys' Golf Team at Southern Garrett High School, and an assistant coach of the boys' basketball team at Southern Garrett High School.
He was a board member of the Oakland Golf Club and Cindy’s Fund. He was the 2007 honorary chairman for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and was presented the 2007 Citizenship Award by the Southern Garrett Athletic Association. He was also a former member of the Garrett County Republican Central Committee.
His love of music and singing led him to membership in the Broadford Quartet, later the Crellin Quartet, and he served as a soloist for many church programs, weddings, ball games, funerals, and veterans’ programs.
In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Frances L. (Friend) Martin; one son, Ryan D. Martin, Oakland; one sister, Linda R. Martin, Mtn. Lake Park; one brother, Philip J. Martin, Fort Worth, Fla.; 12 nieces and nephews; and 14 great-nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland.
A service was held at the Crellin Assembly of God Church on Wednesday, June 27, with Rev. Bruce Craig and Rev. Tim Miller officiating.
Interment was held in the Friend Cemetery, Oakland.
Pallbearers were Dennis Gibson, Roger Bowman, Paul Mullan, Tom Bosley, Mike Colaw, Bill Ewing, and Jamie Workman. Honorary pallbearers were nephews Matt Wolf, Mark Wolf, Michael Wolf, Dale Evans, Brian Evans, Jason Evans, and Tyler Cowan.
