Jacob D. Lambert, 44, of Keymar
Jacob Daniel Lambert, 44, of Keymar, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at home.
Born March 23, 1964, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Jean Stonesifer Lambert, of Keymar, and John David Samuel Lambert, who died Jan. 31, 2001.
He enjoyed music, was a self-taught musician, played multiple instruments and sang. He was a former member of local bands K & P & the J’s, Straight Shooter, James Taylor Band and the Great Train Robbery band. He was the opening act for Molly Hatchett, .38 Special, Lynard Skynrd, Bad Company, Steppenwolf, Foghat and many others. He enjoyed entertaining others and often helped those in need. He was a member of Keysville Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a son, Jacob Dylan Lambert, of Frederick; a brother, Jonathan David Lambert, of Keymar; sister Jana M. Lambert and husband Jim Cook of Frederick; a nephew, Courtenay James Cook, of Frederick; and a girlfriend, Michele Micklus and her son Ryan.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Keysville Union cemetery in Keymar.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Willard Rippons,
Age 81, of Sykesville
Willard Rippons, age 81, of Sykesville, died on Saturday, August 14, 2004, at the Dorchester General Hospital, Cambridge, MD.
Born August 5, 1923, in Hoopers Island, MD, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Lessie Branock Rippons. He was the husband of the late Janet L. Crebs Rippons who died on April 21, 2000.
He had spent most of his life in the wholesale seafood industry. He was a veteran of the US Navy having served in World War II.
He is survived by daughter: Pat McCormick of Selbyville, DE, step-children: Marvin E. Reinhardt, Robert E. Reinhardt and Peggy Lee Chronister and Patricia Reinhardt Trent, brother: Irving Rippons, Sr. of Fishing Creek and sister: Marguerite “Marge” Rippons Strzegowski of Hoopers Island, MD.
He was predeceased by step-father, the late William H. “Doc” Rippons; brothers: the late Eugene, Herbert “Joe” and Chandus T. “Chan” Rippons, Sr. and sisters, the late Nellie Rippons and Gertrude Rippons. He is survived by grandchildren: Michael, Shawn, Laura, Steve, Amanda, Robbie, Lee and Michele and great-grandchildren: Lauren, Kylie and Samantha.
A funeral service will be held at 10am Thursday at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel (6416 Sykesville Rd) Sykesville. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Thomas A. Barwick Sr.
Age 65 of Eldersburg
Thomas Andrews Barwick Sr., 65 of Eldersburg, died Sunday, August 15, 2004 at Carroll Hospital Center, Westminster. Born October 24, 1938 in Thomasville, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Barwick and the late Clara Fawcette Barwick. He was the husband of Katherine Joy Barwick of Eldersburg.
Tom served in the U.S. Navy, Army National Guard 20th Special Forces Group and in the Maryland Air National Guard. He worked for the Maryland Department of General Services for fifteen years, most of that time as building manager of the District Court and Multi-Service Center in Ellicott City.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Thomas Barwick Jr. of Carlisle, PA and Michael Barwick of Eldersburg, brother and sister-in-law Gene and Joyce Barwick of Jacksonville, FL, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Charles and Elizabeth Gerringer of New Windsor and Bill Guinn of Hialeah, FL, grandsons Michael and Dylan Barwick of Eldersburg, granddaughter Amanda Barwick of Carlisle, PA, also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10am from Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville with Rev. Gretchen van Utt officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9pm Wednesday and on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
Russell D. Gover, Sr.
Age 63, of Sykesville
Russell David Gover, Sr., age 63 of Sykesville died Thursday, August 12, 2004, at his home.
Born August 26, 1940, in Maryland he was the son of the late Wilmer and Lola Burke Gover. He was the husband of Dotty McKeon Gover of Sykesville.
He had been a professional truck driver since the age of 19. He most recently worked for Watkins Motor Lines from which he retired after 14 years of service. He had also worked for IML Transportation. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam.
Surviving in addition to his wife are son and daughter-in-law: Russell David, Jr. and Sue Ann Gover of Swanton, MD; daughter-in-law: Kelly Lynn Gover, brothers: Cecil Gover and William Gover both of Baltimore and sister: Rose McGrath of Princess Anne, MD. He is also survived by grandson: Russell David and Nathan Ross Gover and step-grandchildren: Christian and Rainey Norris.
He was predeceased by a son, the late Anthony Michael Gover.
A funeral service will be held at 10am Monday at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel (6416 Sykesville Road) Sykesville. Officiating will be Pastor Chris Reuer. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Age 91, of Sykesville
Olga Marie Manganiello, age 91, of Sykesville, died on Saturday, August 14, 2004, at the Carroll Hospital Center.
Born July 29, 1913 in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Carmello and Domenica Bifano DiSalvo. She was the wife of the late Albert Manganiello.
She worked for the Jordan Kitz Music Store for many years. She had attended St. Joseph Catholic Church, Eldersburg.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law: Violet “Bunny” and Harold Benden of Sykesville, daughter: Sandra “Sandy” Von Loetzen Bennie of Sykesville, brother: Gabriel DiSalvo of Boston, MA, sister-in-law: Cam DiSalvo of Lowell, MA, grandchildren: Dana Bechtel, Steven Benden, Kelly Swanson and Anton VonLoetzen and great-grandchildren: Stephanie, Stacy, Melissa and Michael Bechtel, Jr., Jacob, Hannah, Olivia and Noah Benden, Kelsie and Zachary Swanson and Alexis VonLoetzen- Bennie.
She was predeceased by siblings, the late James and Robert DiSalvo, the late Josephine Gimmusso and the late Sebastiana “Nellie” DiRocco.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 11am Wednesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Eldersburg. The celebrant will be Rev. Paul Reich, S.M. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD.

Nancy H. Zabel
Age 77 of Frederick
Nancy H. Zabel, 77 of Frederick, died Thursday, July 1, 2004 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Born February 23, 1927 in Washington DC, she was the daughter of the late Harrie and Nellie Carrick Haskin. She was the wife of the late Rev. Walter J. Zabel.
She had been an officer for the past 30 years for the WCTU.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law William and Dellana Zabel of Charlotte, NC and daughter Bonita “Bonnie” Wilson of Sykesville, 2 granddaughters and 3 great granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2004 at 10am from Trinity United Methodist Church in Frederick. Interment will be private.

On August 13, 2004, Marie Louise (nee Naecker) of Clarksville, dear daughter of Marie “Thelma” Beall Naecker and the late Louis Joseph Naecker, loving sister of Robert Louis Naecker and William Thomas “Pete” Naecker. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm Monday at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel (6416 Sykesville Rd) Sykesville. Interment will be in George Washington Cemetery.

Age 98 formerly of Ellicott City
Mable Ann Brown, age 98, of Capon Bridge, WV, formerly of Ellicott City, died on Monday, August 16, 2004 at the Berkeley Springs Rehab and Nursing Center, Berkeley Springs, WV.
Born on September 3, 1905, in Glenelg, MD she was the daughter of ther late Ephriam W. and Virginia Walker. She was the was the wife of the late Irving L. Brown who died in 1962.
She had been a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons: Harold S. Brown of Capon Bridge, EV and Morris B. Brown of Westminster, MD; daughter: Linda L. Shifflett of Capon Bridge, WV; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by sons, the late Joseph and Howard Brown and daughter: the late Eleanor Jordan.
A funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel (6416 Sykesville Rd) Sykesville. Interment will be in Linthicum Chapel Cemetery, Clarksville.
