Goldie Rae Boblits
(September 8, 1925 - November 8, 2011)
Goldie Rae Boblits, 86, of Hampstead, formerly of Lutherville, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.
Born Sept. 8, 1925, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Edna Baublitz Wilhelm. She was the wife of John Dalton Boblits Sr., who died in 1994.
She was a former member of Carroll United Methodist Church and in her spare time she enjoyed bowling and bingo.
Surviving are sons John D. Boblits Jr., of Gettysburg, Pa., George E. “Gene” Boblits, of Reidsville, N.C., Charles T. Boblits, of Stewartstown, Pa., and David L. Boblits, of Westminster; siblings George Wilhelm, of Towson, Howard Wilhelm, of Westminster, Lou Staines, of Whitehall, and Virginia Foster, of Severn; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother, Robert L. Wilhelm.
A private cremation was held at All Faiths Crematory and Chapel in Manchester. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Carrolls Cemetery, 11525 Greenspring Ave., Lutherville, with the Rev. Chris Brammer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.

LEONE, (nee Sarrecchia) 84, of Hampstead; wife of Andrew Charles Leone, Sr., her husband of 63 years; mother of Vallory Shearer and her husband Wilfred, Andrea John and her husband Michael, Andrew C. Leone, Jr. and his wife Angela, and Carmela Bell and her husband J. Neil; sister of Phillis Conforti, Anna Cerami, Eleanor Sibilia, Salvatore, Anthony, and John Sarrecchia; grandmother of 12 and great grandmother of 7; predeceased by her parents Salvatore Sarrecchia and Mildred Parello Sarrecchia; her siblings Angie Furnari, Mickie Andriola, Natalie Costa, Vincent and Joseph Sarrecchia.

David Eugene Black, Sr.
(August 10, 1936 - November 13, 2011)
David Eugene Black Sr., 75, of Manchester, MD died Sunday Nov. 13, 2011 at the Transitions Healthcare in Sykesville.
Born August 10, 1936 in Manchester, he was the son of the late George Henry Black, Jr. and the late Gladys Bowman Black.
He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was retired from the Carroll County Board of Education where he worked in general maintenance and previously was a driver for R. E. Berwager Livestock and Earl Smith Bus Service of Manchester. He was a life member of the Manchester Volunteer Fire Department for 52 years, where he had served as Chief, Assistant Chief and President. He was a life member of the Maryland State Fire Chiefs Association and had been President and vice President of the Carroll County Fire Chiefs Association and was a delegate for the County Fireman’s Executive committee. He served on the Maryland State Fireman’s Special Activities Committee. In 1983 he was elected to the Maryland State Fireman’s Hall of Fame. In 1984 he was elected to the Carroll County Fireman’s Hall of Fame. He was the recipient of the Lineboro-Manchester Lions Club Humanitarian Award. He also served on the Manchester Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals.
He is survived by his sons: David E. Black, Jr. of Richmond, Va., Henry George Black of Manchester, and Douglas M. Black of Chicago, Ill.
He was predeceased by brothers William S. Black, Sr. and George Henry “Sonny” Black, III.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Matthew S. Schenning officiating.
Interment will be in the New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester.

Jeanne Dieffenbach Smith
(May 21, 1922 - November 15, 2011)
Jeanne Dieffenbach Smith, 89, of Westminster formerly of Salisbury died Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster.
Born May 21, 1922 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Otto W. Dieffenbach and Madeleine Louise Gilbert Dieffenbach. She was the wife of Benjamin G. Smith, her husband of 67 years.
She was a graduate of Girls Latin School, class of 1940 and the former Western Maryland College, now known as McDaniel College, class of 1944. She was retired from the Department of Social Services for the State of Maryland. She was an avid Girl Scout as a teenager and had a fondness for bridge and golf as an adult.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children Carol S. Mulligan of Sparks, Michael P. Smith of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Anne H. Smith of Tampa, Fla.; and her brother Otto W. Dieffenbach, Jr., of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
She was predeceased by her brothers Rex A. Dieffenbach and Gordon G. Powers; and her sister Helen D. Smith.
A private cremation was held at All Faiths Crematory and Chapel, Manchester with a private interment in Krider's Church Cemetery.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Krug Chapel, Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster with Rev. Jimmie L. Schwartz officiating.

Hilda Marie Wilson
(March 24, 1919 - November 19, 2011)
Hilda Marie Wilson, 92, of Finksburg died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Brightview Westminster Ridge in Westminster.
Born March 24, 1919 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late William Christian Schmitt and Martha Klotzbach Schmitt. She was the wife of William Melvin Wilson, her husband of 60 years, who died in 2002.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Reisterstown and The Order of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and years ago had worked for Black and Decker. In her spare time she enjoyed camping.
Surviving are her daughter Joanne Sayre and her husband John of Finksburg; her grandchildren Shawn Colleran of Rehoboth Beach, DE, J.W. Sayre of Dayton, OH, and Nikia Sayre of Finksburg; her great grandchildren Shannon, Patrick, and Evelyn; and a sister Elsie Knight of Littlestown, PA.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills with a funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday from Trinity Lutheran Church, 109 Main Street, Reisterstown with her pastor Rev. Timothy P. Feaser officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.

Wilbur Newell Sargent
(November 11, 1928 - November 16, 2011)
On Nov. 16, 2011 Wilbur Newell Sargent, beloved husband of the late Georgia Ann Sargent (nee Kouns).
Son of the late Vernal and Agnes Fletcher Sargent. Father of Bruce, Renee, Dehlee and the late Jack and Darryl. Brother of Mary Lou, Janet and the late Lillie Mae and Virginia. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services and interment will be private.

James Robert Higgins
(June 9, 1928 - December 25, 2011)
James Robert Higgins, 83 years old of Reisterstown, died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at his daughter’s home in Hunt Valley.
Born June 9, 1928 in Bellows Falls, Vermont, he was the son of the late Edith Higgins.
He was the husband for 59 years of Barbara Poor Higgins.
He served in the U.S. Navy and attended Arnold College in Connecticut. He came to Baltimore County in 1953 where he was a school teacher and athletic director in Baltimore County Schools for 45 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glyndon.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses: Maureen Higgins Robey and her husband William of Hunt Valley, Michael Rian Higgins and his wife Debby of Nottingham, grandchildren: Kathleen Borrison, James, Colin and Garrett Higgins, daughters-in-law: Debbie Higgins and Lynette Higgins and brother-in-law Dr. Stephen Poor.
He was pre deceased by 2 sons: Timothy James Higgins in 2005 and James Michael Higgins in 2010
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM for a memorial gathering at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon.
