Kathy Lyvonne Farrow
(February 15, 1957 - January 31, 2012)
Kathy Lyvonne Farrow age 54 of Hanover, PA. died suddenly Tuesday Jan. 31, 2012 at the Hanover General Hospital in Hanover, PA.
Born Feb. 15, 1957 in Kingsport, Tenn. She was the daughter of the late Harold Eugene and Maudie Ellen Parks Jennings. She was the wife of 37 years to Jerry Joseph Farrow.
She worked at Sheetz in Manchester, MD. She enjoyed camping, horseback riding, yard sales and spending time with her family. She was an avid Steelers fan; she was a wonderful wife and mother always looking out for her family and friends.
Surviving in addition to her husband are 5 sons: Kevin Joseph, David Jerome, Daniel Eugene, Timothy Jason and Joshua Tyler Farrow all of Hanover, PA. brother: Larry Wayne Jennings of Westminster, MD. sisters: Janice Lee Hahn of Manchester, MD., Betty Jo Shriver of Hampstead, MD. and Deborah Kaye Walsh of Manchester, MD. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD. 21102 on Saturday at 10:00am.
Interment in New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester, MD.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9pm. at the funeral chapel.
William Robert Yurcik
(August 1, 1931 - January 31, 2012)
William Robert Yurcik, 80, of Reisterstown died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
Born August 1, 1931 in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Paul and Sophia Yurcik. He was the husband of Rosemary L. Ciccotto Yurcik, his wife of 51 years.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he was involved with Knight Columbus Council. He was a beloved Grandfather. He was a veteran of the National Guard, serving from 1948 to 1960. He worked as an electrical engineer for Western Electric.
He was musically talented and played the clarinet and saxophone with many groups including the Middle River Concert Band for over 40 years, the Chesapeake Concert Band, Mr. Dance Band, and most recently with the Goldenaires of Columbia.
He was a self taught gardener and served as a Scout leader with MD. Pack 706.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children William Joseph Yurcik and wife Nanette, Diana Marie Hamilton and husband Douglas, and Lorraine Patricia Marshall and husband Bob; his grandchildren Billy Jude and Matthew Paul Yurcik, Sarah, Ian, and Sophia Hamilton, and Katie, Jennifer, Ann, and Christine Marshall; and his brother Joseph Yurcik.
He was predeceased by his siblings Marge Brogan, John Yurcik, Kay Savarese, Paul Yurcik, and step brother Paul Spacek.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glyndon, 65 Sacred Heart Lane.
Interment will be in All Saints cemetery in Glyndon.
Robert Lee Duerling
(October 21, 1958 - February 10, 2012)
Robert Lee Duerling, 53 years old of Westminster, died Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.
Born October 21, 1958 in Woodlawn, he was the son of the late James Robert Duerling and Ruby Lee Boughan Duerling.
He was the husband of Karen Marie Lample Duerling, his wife of 32 years.
He was a Computer Tech for McCormick and Company. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Lauren Duerling of Linthicum and Bradley Duerling of Westminster, his brother Scott Duerling and his wife Karin, of Red Lion, PA, sister-in-law Paula Gardner and her husband Rodger of Hampstead, niece Erica Shain, her husband Louis and their 3 children in Flordia and nephew Adam Gardner and his wife Inga of Australia.
Friends may call on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon.
Interment in Lake View Memorial Park.

Charles Sterling Mahanna
(May 21, 1932 - February 26, 2012)
Charles Sterling Mahanna, 79, of Westminster died Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.
Born May 21, 1932 in Carroll County, MD, he was the son of the late Charles Albert Mahanna and Maryann Estella Leister Mahanna. He was the husband of Frances Ellmire Shaffer Mahanna, his wife of 55 years.
He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He was a farmer and was retired from NESAP as a porter. He worked on lawnmowers and small engines. Years ago, he had worked for Leister Body Shop.
He was a cancer survivor and was active with the Relay for Life. He enjoyed gardening, steam engine shows, cutting wood, spending time with his cats and took pride in his lawn.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Betty Lou Ruhlman of York, PA, Charles Emory Mahanna and wife Angie of Hampstead, Carolyn Louise Dubs of Hanover, PA, Frances Arlene Kawecki and husband Kevin of Littlestown, PA; his sister Lavinia Virginia Eckenrode of Taneytown; his grandchildren Jennifer, Charles, Jr., Stephanie, Joshua, Nathan, Amanda, Emily, Lydia, Roger Lee, Tyler, Nicholas, Anna, and Ian; his great grandchildren Jacob, Jade, Kirsten, Tristan, and Grace; and survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Vernon Elwood Mahanna and his nephew Robert Eugene “Bobby” Mahanna.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester with a funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 3100 Shiloh Road, Hampstead with the Rev. Denise Millett officiating.
Interment will be in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hampstead.

Frederick Edward Smolinski
(December 13, 1938 - March 2, 2012)
Frederick Edward Smolinski age 73 of Reisterstown, MD. died Friday March 2, 2012 at his home.
Born Dec. 13, 1938 in Hampton, NJ. He was the son of the late Frank and Marta Karpa Smolinski.
He was the husband of 46 years to Carole Jeanne Derr Smolinski.
He was a graduate of Villanova University where he was a member of Phi Kappa Pi, engineering fraternity. He was a Navy Veteran He graduated from the Naval Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI. He retired as sales engineer for Cutler-Hammer division of Eaton Corporation, formerly Westinghouse Electric. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter Dr. Kara N. Shah and son-in-law Dr. Samir Shah of Cincinnati Ohio, son Christopher P. and daughter-in-law Mina Wilcox Smolinski of Westminster, granddaughters Avani and Anika Shah, Lila Smolinski, grandsons Siddharth Shah, Nathan, Mitchell and Owen Smolinski
He was predeceased by brothers William, Frank J., and Peter Smolinski and sisters Sophie Sawran, Mary Paliani and Stella Smolinski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 6, at 10:00am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD 21071. Fr. Lloyd E. Aiken officiating.
Interment Private.

Allen Foster Sherman
(January 27, 1941 - March 2, 2012)
Allen Foster Sherman age 71 of Owings Mills, MD. died Friday March 2, 2012 at the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD.
Born Jan. 27, 1941 in Moorefield, West Virginia he was the son of the late Brown and Ethel Southerly Sherman. He was the husband of 51 years to Carolyn Ruth Kessel Sherman.
Years ago he was a carpenter, working in construction. He had also manufactured windows and doors for Acra Manufacturing.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Steven Sherman and wife Debbie of Hampstead, MD. and Susan Heher and husband Tim of Reisterstown, MD. Siblings: Ronnie Sherman and wife Shirley, Jimmy Sherman and wife Anna Mae, Danny Sherman and wife Debbie all of Moorefield, WV. Betty Barrett, Martha Lee Hartman both of Petersburg, WV. And Helen Coppe of Moorefield, WV. Grandchildren: Christopher, Nicholas and Zachary Sherman, Matthew, Michael, Vincent and Nathalie Heher and a great granddaughter: Riley Marie Heher. He was predeceased by a brother: Lawrence Sherman.
Funeral services and Interment are private.
