Sara Walthall Griffin age 91 of Manchester, MD. died Friday March 2, 2012 at the Long View Nursing Home in Manchester, MD.
Born March 17, 1920 in North Carolina she was the daughter of the late Henry Hill and Mary Ethel Barwick Walthall. She was the wife of the late Wade F. King.
Years ago she worked at Rosewood Hospital. She was a Navy Veteran. She enjoyed flowers, cats, working hard and reading books especially the Bible and history.
She is survived by her children: Lucinda Williams of Norfolk, VA., Richard W. Griffin and wife Brenda of Smithsburg, MD. and Nancy Marie W. Barth of Waynesboro, PA. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren including Carmela Marie Hipp and husband Weldon Leon III, Joseph Nathaniel Castor, John Andrew Eugene Barth, Dean and wife Dawn and Allen Griffin, 13 great grandchildren including Macy, Denny, Braiden and Caleb. She is also survived by 6 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by sisters: Geraldine Bush and Marie Groves.
Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, MD. 21048. on Tuesday at 2:00pm.

Monty R. Wardenfelt

Monty R. Wardenfelt age 57 of Hanover, PA. died Sunday March 4, 2012 at his home.
Born March 7, 1954 in Baltimore, MD. he was the son of the late William H. and Daisey Poole Wardenfelt.
He had worked in construction. He also worked at Kenco Logistics Services and part time for R. H. Mummert Painting in Hanover, PA.
He was a 1972 graduate of North Carroll High School.
Surviving are his sisters: Wilhelmenia Hemphill and husband Conrad of Melborne, Florida. and Roxy Keeney and husband Ralph of Milton, Del. step brother: Stephen Wardenfelt and wife Jane of Wilmington, NC. sister in laws: Alice Wardenfelt of Manchester, MD. and Stephanie Wardenfelt of Hampstead, MD.
He was predeceased by brothers: Larry E. and William H. Wardenfelt III.
Funeral services and Interment will be private.

Sarah Virginia Zentz Pasek, 90, of Manchester, died Friday, March 23, 2012, at home.
Per her wishes, the funeral service and interment will be private.

Sisto Joseph Averno, Sr.
(May 12, 1925 - March 26, 2012)
Sisto Joseph Averno, Sr. 86 years old of Pikesville, died Monday, March 26, at the Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown.
Born May 12, 1925 in Paterson, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Roberto Averno and Elvira Isabella Salerno Averno.
He was the husband for 61 years of Margaret E. Meredith Averno.
He served honorably with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during WWII.
He was a graduate of Muhlenberg College where he earned the recognition as a member of the Muhlenberg College Athletic Hall of Fame. He went on to play Professional Football with the Baltimore Colts in 1950, ’53 and ’54. In between he played with the 1951 New York Yanks football team and the 1952 Dallas Texans. As the final pick of the 1951 NFL Draft he was honored as that draft’s Mr. Irrelevant. He was a member of the Italian American Hall of Fame. After his football career, he was a salesman for 57 years with both the Luby and Fox Chevrolet Dealerships in Baltimore.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children and their spouses: Kimberly and Stephen Noppenberger of Taneytown, Dina Averno of Pikesville, Gia and Charles Muth of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sisto Joseph Jr. and Amber Averno of Owings Mills, sister Dolores Tullo and her husband James of New Jersey and 7 grandchildren.
Friends may call on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel P.A. 11605 Reisterstown Rd. Owings Mills.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon.
Interment in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.

Mary Lorraine Thompson, 87 years old of Owings Mills, died Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Gilchrist Hospice in Towson.
Born February 5, 1925 in Sykesville, she was the daughter of the late Harry F. and Dena Dayhoff Wright.
She was the wife of the late Richard C. Thompson, Sr. who died in 1994.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Linda and Richard Huffer of Westminster, Richard C. Jr. and Tina Thompson of Owings Mills and Lisa and Marty Pittinger of Owings Mills, brother Norman Wright, Sr. of Maryland Line, sister Dorothy Dawson of Reisterstown, 9 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
She was pre deceased by 2 brothers Harry F. Wright, Jr. and Billy Wright.

Mary Virginia "Ginger" Basler age 71 of Glenville, PA. died Thursday April 5, 2012 at her home.
Born Nov. 29, 1940 in Baltimore City, MD. she was the daughter of the late Donald G. and Mary Elizabeth McClure Hampt, Sr. She was the wife of 53 years to Herbert Shannon Wayne Basler.
She was a 1958 graduate of Franklin Sr. High School in Reisterstown, MD. She previously lived in Owings Mills, MD before moving to Pennsylvania 6 years ago. She was a retired Office Assistant for Baltimore County Rec. & Parks in Owings Mills, MD. She was a member of Bethlehem U. M. Church, Bethlehem U.M. Women, Bethlehem U.M. Church Choir, Pastor Parish Committee, The Red Hat Society – The Scarlet O’Hatters, Reisterstown Club, Owings Mills Rec. & Parks Council, Honorary Member of the Jefferson Fire Dept. Ladies Aux. where she worked March & November Dutch Suppers. She enjoyed Traveling, Gardening, Landscaping with her husband and planning Class of 1958 reunions and Arcadia Girls luncheons. She also enjoyed knitting items and giving them away.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children: David C. Basler and wife Melinda of Taneytown, MD., Donna M. Stachowiak and husband Brian of Lynchburg, VA. and Jenny Rebekah Basler-Allulis and husband Larry of Loganville, PA. Brother: John D. Hampt and wife Kathi of Owings Mills, MD. She is also survived 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and her Black Lab/Beagle dog: Mr. Lucky.
She was predeceased by her brother: Donald G. Hampt, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 47 Hanover St. Jefferson, PA. 17311 on Sunday April 15, 2012 at 2:00pm. A gathering of friends and family will be at the church from 1:00pm. until the time service.

Mike Washington Walters
(September 28, 1964 - March 18, 2012)
Mike Washington Walters age 47 of Hampstead, MD. died Sunday March 18, 2012 at the Transitions Healthcare in Sykesville, MD.
Born Sept. 28, 1964 in Estherville, Iowa he was the son of Larry Walters of Iowa and Valley Toepfer of Hampstead, MD.
He was a Tile Mechanic in the construction business.
Surviving in addition to his parents are siblings: Richard M. Walters, George D. Toepfer, Michelle and Amy Walters. He is also survived by a nephew Joshua Rust.
Graveside services will be held at the Old Manchester Lutheran Cemetery, Church St. Manchester, MD. on Monday at 3:30 pm.
