Clifford Smith
WHALEYVILLE -- Clifford "Smitty" Smith, 89, of Whaleyville died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin.
Born in Pittsville, he was a son of the late McFadden and Lucy Jones Smith.
He was a barber for 50 years and owned Smitty's Barber Shop in Berlin. He had also operated a vegetable stand at the intersection on Route 610 and Route 346 in Whaleyville for 20 years. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association and an avid rabbit hunter.
He is survived by six sons, Gary Smith, Tommy Smith, Jeffrey Smith, Tony Smith, Glenn Smith and Freddie Smith; four daughters, Linda McCoubrey, Lucy Dennis, Christina Lewis and Anna Cooper; three brothers, Everett Smith, William Smith and Howard Smith; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 17 brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Oren Perdue will officiate. Interment will be in New Hope cemetery in Willards.
Reinald Kinderman Hendricks
FRANKFORD -- Reinald "Rick" Kinderman Hendricks, 77, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
Born in Harrisburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Gedney O. Hendricks and Minnie Kinderman Hendricks. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Gingrich Hendricks, in October of 2004.
He is survived by a daughter, Cynthia "Cindi" Brought and her husband, Steve, and a grandson, Erik Brought, all of Frankford.
Mr. Hendricks was a member of Frankford United Methodist Church and Charlton United Methodist Church in Harrisburg, a member of the Zembo Temple in Harrisburg, was a 32nd-degree Mason with the William S. Snyder Lodge No. 756, a member of the Lower Delaware Shrine Club, Scottish Rite and marshal in the Harrisburg Consistory and a World War II Navy veteran.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Knight Funeral Home, 31 2nd St., in Highspire, Pa., where friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Interment will be in Highspire Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Charlton United Methodist Church, 5920 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, Pa. 17112.

Charles B. "Chuck" Northam Jr.
POCOMOKE CITY -- Charles B. "Chuck" Northam Jr., 49, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at his home in Pocomoke City after a prolonged illness.
Born May 9, 1955, in Salisbury, he was a son of the late Kathleen J. Mallon and Charles Buford Northam Sr.
Mr. Northam loved fishing, hunting and carpentry.
He is survived by a daughter, Michelle Northam of Baltimore; a brother, Jimmy Northam; a sister, Peggy Worth; and his best friend since childhood, Ralph Corbin, all of Pocomoke City.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Keith McKinley Cornish
YORK, Pa. -- Keith "Bucky" McKinley Cornish, 47, of York and formerly of Salisbury, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at his residence.
Born in Salisbury, he was a son of the late Robert Hudson and Lucille Eloise Cornish.
Prior to his passing, he was employed as a contruction worker.
He leaves cherished memories with four brothers, Ricky Cornish of Columbia, Kevin "Timmy" Cornish and Randy Cornish, both of York, and Michael Cornish of Salisbury; two sisters, Kathy Lucille Cornish of York and Anna May Ford of Philadelphia; a longtime companion, Roxanne Swift of York; an uncle, William V. Cornish of York; an aunt, Lotta "Cookie May" Cornish Stewart of Chestertown, Md.; two nephews; three nieces; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, the late William McKinley and Curley May Cornish, who raised him after the death of his mother.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at noon at First Baptist Church, located at the corner of Delaware Avenue and Booth Street. Evangelist Sandra Nicols will deliver the eulogy. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Green Acres Memorial Park on West Road in Salisbury.
A ministry of comfort and dignity is being provided by Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury.
Charles Edward Layton
SALISBURY -- Charles Edward Layton, 81, of Salisbury died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
Born in Salisbury, he was a son of the late William A. Layton and Pearl M. Layton. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Keith Layton, and two sisters, Alice Parsons and Ethel Hancock.
Mr. Layton was retired from the DuPont Co. in Seaford. Prior to working at DuPont, he was a truck driver with Mayflower Co.
He is survived by his wife, Elma L. Layton of Salisbury; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald W. and Charlene Layton of Laurel, Michael and Cristy Layton of Delmar and Steven A. Layton of Salisbury; a brother, William R. Layton of Salisbury; a sister, Helen Fitzgerald of Salisbury; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove St., in Delmar, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.
Ursula E. Geoghegan
OCEAN PINES -- Ursula E. Geoghegan, 62, of Ocean Pines and formerly of Baltimore, died Tuesday, Dec. 28. 2004, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin.
She is survived by her beloved husband; one son; two sisters; and three stepdaughters.
Services and inurnment will be private.

Benjamin Jones III
ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Benjamin "Benny" Jones III, 33, formerly of Salisbury, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford.
Born in Salisbury, he was a son of Bernadette Williams Mitchell of Milford and Benjamin Jones Jr. of Berlin.
He was a 1989 graduate of Wicomico Senior High. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and received an honorable discharge. Upon his discharge, he attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne.
He was employed as general sales manager for Ourisman Dodge in Alexandria and was the owner and chief executive officer of Hispanic Buying Services, also in Alexandria.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister and brother, Lenora Green and her husband, Lindsey, of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Gerard Jones and his wife, MaKisha, of Milford; a half-brother and sister, Javon Jones of Milford and Dynika Jones of Berlin; five aunts; one uncle; two nieces; and three nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Wesley Temple United Methodist Church in Salisbury, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
McKinley H. Walker Jr.
FRUITLAND -- McKinley "Junie" H. Walker Jr. went to rest on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004.
He was born Feb. 7, 1954, to the late McKinley H. Walker Sr. and Delois M. Rouse.
He leaves to mourn two sisters, Diana L. Jones and her husband, Robert A., of Salisbury and Joeann M. Walker of Dover; his grandmother, Ruth T. Rennalls; one uncle; two aunts; three nephews; three nieces; seven great-nieces; five great-nephews; a host of cousins and friends; a dear friend, Kissy Barclay; and extended family, Wanda and Lamont Mitchell and Lawrence and Althea Jones.
He attended Wicomico County schools and worked for Super Clean Car Wash for several years.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. at Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
