Barbara Jean Wolf Seidl
DELMAR -- Barbara Jean Wolf Seidl, 56, of Delmar passed away Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore.
She was born March 22, 1948, in Greensboro to Thomas Edward and Anna Pearl McCreary Allen of Camden, Del. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Iven C. Wolf, in 1994 and also a brother, John T. Allen.
Mrs. Seidl sold home interior and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony John Seidl of Delmar; a son, Iven E. Wolf of Dover; a sister, Karen Jarrell of Dover; and a sister-in-law, Shela Allen of Dover.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at noon at Trinity Wesleyan Church on South State Street in Dover, where friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon. Pastor John Davis will officiate. Burial will be held in Sharon Hill Memorial Park in Dover.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Trader Funeral Home, Inc., 12 Lotus St., Dover, Del. 19901, to help defray funeral costs.
Denwood Millard Dashiell
SALISBURY -- Denwood Millard Dashiell departed this life Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at Salisbury Center: Genesis ElderCare.
He was born Nov. 3, 1923, to the late Solomon Henry and Alice Lee Dashiell.
After primary and secondary schooling in his birthplace of Fruitland, he joined the Army. After leaving the service, he attended A&T; University in Greensboro, N.C., and Bowie State College, now Bowie State University, in Bowie, Md., receiving a Bachelor of Science degree. He taught in the Accomack County school system and the Queen Anne's County school system and retired from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Denwood met and married
Esther Martha Williams upon his return from duty with the Army.
From this 56-year union they had three children, Vaughn Anthony Dashiell, Denise Dashiell Jones and Pamela Dashiell Plummen. Denwood enjoyed baseball, gospel music and singing.
He was a member of Mount Calvary United Methodist Church in Fruitland. He was a member of the Methodist Men and an active member of the community center. He had a great sense of humor.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Esther Martha Dashiell; a son, Vaughn; two daughters, Denise and Pamela; his grandchildren, Anthony Jerome Dashiell, Donte' Terrell Cornish, Dana Monique Dashiell, Kellie Patrice Plummen, Korey Bronte' Dashiell and Edwin C. Jernigan; his great-grandchildren, Jocquon Phillip Johnson, Khialah Breon Dashiell, Donte' Honess Cornish and Kerrigan Chappelle Dashiell; a nephew, Alan Mainor (Kim); a nephew, Carroll Dashiell Jr. (Rhonda); a niece, Karen Mainor Harris; his sisters-in-law, Clementine Conway and Brenda Jernigan; a brother-in-law, Ronald Conway; and a host of family and friends.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Thelma Dashiell Parker and Geraldine Dashiell Mainor, and three brothers, Toledo Dashiell, Thedford Dashiell and Carroll Dashiell.
A funeral service will be held today at 11 a.m. at Mount Calvary United Methodist Church in Fruitland, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
Arrangements are being handled by Stewart Funeral Home on West Road and Olivia Street in Salisbury.
Mary Ann Rantz
POCOMOKE CITY -- Mary Ann Rantz, 62, of Stockton died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at Salisbury Center: Genesis ElderCare in Salisbury.
Born March 5, 1942, in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Ethel Lee Rantz.
Mary lived her early years on Front Street in Pocomoke City and later moved to Stockton. She loved animals, especially horses and dogs, and she was a great poker player.
She is survived by a niece, Jenny Santangelo, her husband, Jamey, and their two children, Gabrielle and James, all of Norristown, Pa.; three nephews, Robley M. "Sonny" Rantz Jr., his wife, Susan, and their son, Robbie, all of Stockton, John Christopher Rantz, his wife, Wendy, and their children, Phoebe and Nolan, all of Pocomoke City, and Glen Rantz, his wife, Carla, and their children, Leah and Max, all of Stockton; and a sister-in-law, Glenda Crockett and her husband, Bill, of Crisfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only brother, Robley M. Rantz Sr.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Holloway Melson Funeral Home in Pocomoke City. Interment will be private.
In thanks for the excellent care and compassion that the staff showed Mary while caring for her during her lengthy illness, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Genesis ElderCare Salisbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 200 Civic Ave., Salisbury, Md. 21804.

Carole McNally Barry
OCEAN PINES -- Carole McNally Barry, 60, of Ocean Pines died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at her home.
Born in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late George McNally and Eloise Hite McNally. Formerly of Silver Spring, Md., she moved to Ocean Pines in 2000.
Mrs. Barry had been director of human resources for Sterner and Klein of Rockville, Md. She was a former co-chairperson of the Washington St. Patrick's Day parade. She was a member of the Black Thorn Stick Ceili Dancers, St. John Neumann Catholic Church, the Delmarva Irish American Club and the Democratic Women's Club. She was a former correspondent for the Irish American Newspaper.
She is survived by her beloved husband, John Patrick Barry; three stepsons, Eamon Barry of Silver Spring, Sean P. Barry and his wife, Michelle, of Preston and Kevin F. Barry and his wife, Louise, of Burtonsville, Md.; two stepdaughters, Margaret Mary McLemore and her husband, Brian, of Trenton, N.J., and Kathleen Theresa Barry of Ocean Pines; eight grandchildren; one brother, George Thomas "Tom" McNally and his wife, Yvonne, of Pinehurst, N.C.; one niece, Kelly McNally; one nephew, Kevin McNally; one sister-in-law, Joan Harriss and her husband, Mike, of Chicago; and one brother-in-law, Eamon Barry and his wife, Anne, of Dublin, Ireland.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered Monday at 11 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Berlin, where friends may call one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will be private. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.

Ray Williams
BALTIMORE -- Ray Williams of Baltimore died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005.
He leaves behind his daughter, Whitney; sisters, Norma Sellers and Janice Nguyen; a brother, Theodore; former companion, Margaret Dize; and nieces, nephews, cousins and uncles.
Richard Floyd Watson Sr.
SNOW HILL -- Richard Floyd Watson Sr., 74, died Monday, March 7, 2005, at Anchorage Nursing Home in Salisbury.
Born in Berlin, he was the son of the late Levin Watson and is survived by his mother, Martha Littleton Watson of Pocomoke City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Catherine Watson, in 2002.
He is also survived by his sons, Allen Watson and his wife, Lisa, of Mardela Springs, Richard Watson Jr. of Snow Hill, Frank Watson and his wife, Mary Alice "Scotty, " of Berlin, and William Watson and his wife, Diane, of Salisbury; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Jones of Powellville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Mitchell, in 1992.
Mr. Watson had been the superintendent of the water and sewer department in Snow Hill and had been a poultry grower for many years. He was a Korean War Army veteran and member of the Berlin Moose Lodge.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Burbage Funeral Home in Snow Hill, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Kenneth Elligson will officiate. Interment will follow in Lewes cemetery near Willards.

Oliver J. Thoms, M.D.
SALISBURY -- Dr. Oliver J. Thoms, 78, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, after a brief battle with cancer. He passed away at Coastal Hospice at The Lake in the same fashion that he had lived his life, with honor and dignity.
Born in Pittsburgh, he was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Margaret Thoms, and a special brother-in-law, Richard S. Adkins.
Ollie, as family and friends knew him, served two years in the U.S. Naval Reserves, where he earned a Victory Ribbon and an American Theater Ribbon. Ollie then received his Bachelor of Science degree and his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his internship and residency between St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland and the University of Pittsburgh. Ollie was certified by the American Board of Surgery and was a past clinical instructor in plastic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. His past hospital affiliations include St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland, Presbyterian University Hospital in Pittsburgh, Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, University of Pittsburgh, Veterans Administration Hospital in Pittsburgh and Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He retired in 1993.
Past professional memberships include the Allegheny County Medical Society, Pennsylvania Medical Society, Wicomico Medical Society, Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of the State of Maryland, John Staige Davis Society of Plastic Surgeons, Southern Medical Association, American Medical Association and the American College of Surgeons.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ethel E. Thoms; mother-in-law, Charlotte Adkins of Salisbury; one stepdaughter, Kimberly E. Bailey of Salisbury; two stepsons, David W. Bailey Jr. and his partner, Luanne Sheahan, of Salisbury and William M. Bailey and his wife, Karen, of Eden; two grandchildren, Aidan and Lydia; two brothers-in-law, Frances Adkins and his wife, Jean, of Wilmington and Ernest Adkins and his wife, Janie, of Plant City, Fla.; sister-in-law, Linda Adkins of Parsonsburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.
His greatest loves were his family, doing for others, the outdoors and medicine. He will be remembered for his gentle way, generosity, humility and the way he affected every life he touched. Only grieve for a moment for a life that was lost and then celebrate forever a life that was lived.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Holloway Funeral Home. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday an hour before the service. The Rev. J. Harvey Dixon will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Grove cemetery in Parsonsburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Coastal Hospice at The Lake, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, Md. 21802.
