NONA R. MEYERS
Nona Rosella Meyers, 82, Grantsville, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at Lions Center, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 4, 1924, in Bittinger, she was a daughter of the late Dennis and Mary (Oester) Brenneman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Olin Meyers, Nov. 13, 1995; and one grandson, James Yoder.
Mrs. Meyers was a member of Springs Mennonite Church and the Daughters of Dorcas sewing circle. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are one son, Daniel Charles Meyers and wife Sherrill, Grantsville; one daughter, Wanda J. Yoder and husband Ken, Salisbury, Pa.; two brothers, Rex Brenneman, Amarillo, Texas, and Olen Brenneman, Grantsville; one sister, Olis Brenneman, Grantsville; three grandchildren, Tim Yoder and wife Kim, Deanne Meyers and companion Charlie Cole, and Renee Gibson and husband Matt; and three great-grandchildren, Daniel and Hannah Yoder, and Cody Cole.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a service will be conducted on Saturday, July 7, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Casey Rohrer officiating.
Interment will be in Grantsville Cemetery.

JOSEPHINE E. FIKE
Josephine Eleanor Fike, 90, Friendsville, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at the Kontry Komfort Assisted Living Home, Friendsville.
Born Aug. 28, 1916, in Friendsville, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Laura (Hum-berson) Fike. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Woodrow, Emerson, and Stanley Fike; and one sister, Gertrude Burkhard.
Miss Fike worked on the family farm for many years, and also in later years she worked at the Youghiogheny Mountain Club, until her retirement.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Oakland, tonight, Thursday, July 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., where a service will be conducted Friday, July 6, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating.
Interment will follow in Humberson Cemetery, Friendsville.
SARAH K. RITCHIE
Sarah K. (Jones) Ritchie, 90, went to be with the Lord July 4, 2007, at Park Pointe Village Retirement Center in Rock Hill, S.C.
Born Sept. 7, 1916, in Bloomdale, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Alvah K. Jones and Vida (Lehman) Jones, who pastored St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Red House, a community where Sally taught piano. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arvey M. Ritchie; an infant son, Edward Ritchie; and three brothers, David, Clinton, and Clarence Jones.
She is survived by two daughters, Joan Lawton and husband Art, Rock Hill, S.C., and Linda Ritchie Thrasher, Greensboro, N.C.; four grandchildren, Wendy Lawton McDaniel, and husband Frank, Michael Lawton, Marley Thrasher, and Gwenn Thrasher; and several nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed being a homemaker on Deep Creek Lake and earlier in Mtn. Lake Park, where she attended Bethel United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at the David Burdock Funeral Home, Oakland, on Friday, July 6, one hour prior to the service, scheduled for 2 p.m.
Interment will be held at Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland, where she will be buried beside her beloved husband.

ROBERT J. LUCAS
Robert “Bob” James Lucas, 64, Kitzmiller, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at the Cumberland Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 30, 1942, in Kitzmiller, he was a son of the late William I. and Kathleen (Shillingburg) Lucas.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred "Millie" (Greaser) Lucas, Kitzmiller; one daughter, Kay Lucas, Kitzmiller; two brothers, Buck Lucas, Kitzmiller, and Gary Lucas, New Creek, W.Va.; two sisters, Maxine Elburn, and Peggy Davidson-Buff, both of Oakland; one half brother, Joe Lucas, Kitzmiller; and one half sister, Lisa Davis, Kitzmiller.
Friends were received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, where a service was held on Friday, Aug. 17, in the chapel, with the Rev. George Tichinel officiating.
Interment followed in the Kalbaugh Cemetery.
HARLEY H. STAHL
Harley Howard Stahl, 82, Oakland, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Aug. 24, 1924, in Crellin, he was a son of the late Howard and Effie (King) Stahl. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Keith, Harland, and Warden Stahl; and two sisters, Maxine Woodward and Rosa Lee Savage.
Mr. Stahl was a farmer, and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Wanda P. (Evans) Stahl; two sons, Michael Stahl and wife Jo Della, Albright, W.Va., and Dennis Stahl and wife Linda, Oakland; two daughters, Priscilla Stahl, Hockingport, Ohio, and Connie Stahl, Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Josephine Ladd, Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Wilma Artis, Pylesville; five grandchildren, Natalie Smith and husband Mike, Nanette Snyder and husband Bobby, Nathan Stahl and wife Crystal, Erica Stahl, and Mandi Hetrick and husband Todd; and four great-grandchildren, Nichole and Robert Snyder and Amber and Abigail Smith.
Friends were received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Oakland.
A service was held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Roland Nairn III officiating.
Interment followed in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
DELORIS J. SINCLAIR
Deloris Jean "Tottie" Sinclair, 69, Oakland, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at the Oakland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Oakland.
Born March 24, 1938, in Charleston, W.Va., she was a daughter of Genevieve Schleigh, Oakland, and the late Robert Thomas. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Ann McFarland.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her former husband, Eldon Sinclair, N.Y.; two sons, Bradley Eugene Sinclair and wife Elizabeth, Philadelphia, Pa., and Terry Lee Sinclair and wife Christine, Sinking Springs, Pa.; two daughters, Victoria Elaine Jones, Morrisville, Pa., and Sharon Lynn Daugherty and husband Michael, Philadelphia; two brothers, Robert Paul Thomas, Oakland, and David Allen Thomas, Grantsville; three sisters, Elaine Snyder, Grantsville, Carolyn Germain, Oakland, and Barbara Carr, Irwin, Pa.; and 11 grandchildren.
Friends were received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was held in the chapel on Wednesday, Aug. 22, with the Rev. Dr. Chip Lee officiating.
Interment followed in Garrett Memorial Gardens.
LORETTA A. SMITH
Loretta Ann (Minard) Smith, 59, Elkton, formerly of Oakland, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, in Christian Hospital, Newark, Del., from a massive heart attack.
Born Dec. 4, 1948, in Washington, D.C., she was a daughter of the late Cecil W. Minard and Yvonne Minard. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Phillip Minard.
She was a member of the 1968 graduating class of Richard Montgomery High School, Rockville.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Richard (Rick) Smith, Elkton; one son, Travis Smith; four grandchildren; two sisters, Susan Latos, Gaithersburg, and Elizabeth (Betty) Peake, Smithsburg; and two brothers, Robert (Bobby) Minard, Twinbrook, and Michael Minard, Gaithersburg.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 2, at the Southern Rescue Squad Hall, Oakland.
HELEN C. SOLDANO
Helen C. Soldano, 95, Grantsville, died on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Sacred Heart Hospital, WMHS Braddock Campus, Cumberland.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles Chronister and Anna (Brindle) Chronister. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles; her first husband, Hanford Poole Boyer, in 1957; and her second husband, Matthew C. Soldano, in 1991.
Following her career as an administrative assistant at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, she retired to Sarasota, Fla.
In 2002 Helen moved to Assisted Living at the Goodwill Retirement Community in Grantsville to be closer to her son, Ron Boyer, and daughter-in-law, Liz McDowell.
The family sincerely appreciates the caring and professional nature of the nurses and staff at the Goodwill Retirement Community and the Western Maryland Health System.
Helen will be laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, Pa.

WAYNE G. FIKE
Wayne G. Fike, 66, Accident, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at his home.
Born Dec. 9, 1940, in Markleysburg, Pa., he was a son of the late Ford and Anna (Georg) Fike.
Mr. Fike was a truck driver and member of Glendale Assembly of God. He also volunteered with the Accident Community Planning Group.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ellen ( Holler) Fike; one son, Wayne F. Fike and wife Lisa, Monroe, N.C.; two daughters, Sharon A. Custer and husband Paul, Accident, and Lisa K. Arnold and husband Ron, Oakland; one brother, R. Dale Fike, Accident; two sisters, Ruth Bowman, Accident, and Catherine Munson, Baton Rouge, La.; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Shaina, Chelsie, Justin, Krystin, Falisha, and Makayla; and one great-grandson, Dayton.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Accident/McHenry, where a service was conducted on Wednesday, Aug. 22, with the Rev. Gail Hixon and the Rev. Robert Fletcher officiating.
Interment was in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red House.

A memorial service mass for Dominic V. Pratt, 85, Swanton, will be held at St. Thomas Cathedral Church, Thomas, W.Va., on Friday, Aug. 31, at 10 a.m.
